2. Binding pages
I wanted to learn how to bind a book using thread, I used embroidery
thread so that the thread was more visible and I wanted to see if it
would add to the design .
To bind it I used this picture guide and went from there. I haven't
found any issues with the process so far. To avoid any mistakes like the
pages not being aliened I made the equally distanced holes in each
page and made sure that they all aliened.

3. Content cogwheel
First I made the base wheel.
The layout has the title shown
at the top of the wheel and the
description below.
At the top of each section
I made a cut out on the
left to make turning the
wheel easier.
Started cutting out the second
wheel . measure and cut out
the gap. Then I sketched out
the drawing and design
Put everything together to
get an idea of how it will look
and if there are any changes I
need to make or mistakes.
I then moved on to outlining and
painting the sketches on both the inner
circles.
Next I had to go over all the writing
with ink.
To finish it off I glued everything in
place on the introduction page.

4. Introduction page
Editors note
I started on the introduction page by
gluing down the contents wheel and
writing out the editors note. The layout
was planed
I decided that since I wanted to make my fanzine similarly to
how fanzines used to be made (using parts from other
magazines) that I could make the title out of letter from
other magazine. I'm not sure if it came out the way I
imagined it.
At first I painted the description area in a
light blue colour but ended up not liking it.
So I decided to go for a more neutral
colour. My original plan was to write the
description by hand, but I think it may look
better printed out.

5. Drying herbs (page 6-7)
I was really unsure on how I wanted
to layout this page and ended up
going with a symmetrical theme. I
made sure that the writing wasn't
too small by lining the sections in
pencil. This also made sure my
writing didn't go wonky
I started going over
everything in pen. Adding
colour to the title and
boxes. I'm using gel pens
to add in colour
I'm not happy with this design, I think
this is the sort of thing I'm
comfortable with doing. The layout
(especially the boarder)is much like the
style I usually go for when I'm doing
print online.
but it doesn't match the aesthetic I
was going for.

9. Page 12(herbal tea)
To get he journal look I used brown card to write on and
stuck it on with double sided tape at the top only. This
gives it more of a personal look. I also used magazine
articles behind it to fill in some gaps. To finish I added
some flower stickers I found, however I'm not sure if this
will work as it may reflect when being photocopied
Wrote down my article. This time I
use a different n to write over the
pencil n it worked a lot better

10. Page 13 (recipe)
I am really unsure on how exactly I want to present the recipes. On the one hand I could use a lot of space for I,
however I'm worried because I don’t have much to write. I want to use neutral and light colors, to get alight
wash of color I'm going to use water color.
I split my page into 4 sections and
painted each with water color. I don't
like it so far but I'm going to work on
top of it(use it as a base)
I drew a rose in the middle of
the page. I am planning
writing down the recipe in
the3 of the spaces
I added in the text I needed I the
spaces and then decided to fill the
bottom left corner with a flower
design to make the page less
blank.

11. Front cover
I wanted the front cover to be
simplistic. I took inspiration from
some other cover designs I saw
and decided to go for a print
/stamp design (repeated drawing)
Out of brown card i made this add on
to the cover that slides on and off
I later trimmed this down which you
can noticed in the picture on the next
slide.
I decided to have the main
colour be black, which give it
more of a stamp illusion.
