• Although London is quite far from home there are trains that go
directly from York to London(and vise versa) which make it better.
Living in London will be expensive, so I'm going to have to get a job
and save up.
• This course teaches how to use a wide range of materials and
techniques , I find that this can lead to very versatile jobs from
window displaying, TV and theatre. Prop making is needed a lot.
• At the interview will need to bring a portfolio.

20. Academic History
In secondary school 2 of the subjects I chose to take at GCSE’s were graphic
design and food preparation. Both of these subjects gave me an
introduction into course work, and taught me skills such as organisation
skills and productivity skills. Product design taught me the basics of creative
media(how to use InDesign and photo shop). Food tech taught me how to
work in a time limit and prepare enough so that the product will be
presented on time and good quality.
In my first year of college I took history, media and applied law, and passed
my AS level, getting a distinction in applied law. However decided not to
carry on with A-levels and switch to Extended Diploma in Creative Media
Production and Technology
21. Current Study
The course I am currently studying is Extended Diploma in creative media
production and technology. I decided to pick this after my first year doing A-
levels, as I realised I would rather expand my creative skills and learn more
practically.
A big skill that have learnt is how to use different creative software. This
includes software such as Photoshop, InDesign, audition, premier pro and
after effects. I have also
Before doing this course I had no idea what course I wanted to go into, but by
doing a range of different project. When I made my music video(first project) I
really enjoyed the whole process from coming up with the concept, to
shooting and editing. Because this is the project I haves o far enjoyed most it I
am interested in progressing on and studying video further.
22. The Future
Doing this course will help me along my career path in creative media. In the
future I want to be able to get the best job I possibly can in the subject I have
chosen to specialise I, so that I am financially stable and have a job that I am
passionate about. Going to university will help me achieve those goals by
giving me the skill set and growth that are needed.
23. Outside College
Outside of college I have a part time job working at Claris. I was set on getting
a job as I wanted to be able to pay for my own things and become more
independent. Having a part-time job has meant that I have needed to plan a
lot more when it come to projects with other people. my part time job has
had an impact on my confidence, I find that I am way more comfortable
speaking to people in general. I also like keeping fit and practicing yoga and
meditation, which helps me clear my mind and have better focus on goals. I
have regularly volunteer at the York mosque scouts group to help out set up
activities and look after the kids. I really enjoy volunteering at scouts because
it brings the young Muslim community together which is really nice to see and
be apart of.
24. Conclusion
My main motivation for going to university is to become specialised in the
creative subject I choose. I want to learn and grow by giving it my all. Going to
university will help me to become more independent and confident in myself,
as I will be living away from home, which is such an important aspect of life,
and will help me become more responsible and motivated to make myself a
success.
25. Introduction
the subjects that I am thinking about taking are as follows, filmmaking, prop
making and visual effects. The reason I like these subjects is because I feel as
though I could never get bored with the jobs they lead to as they can be very
versatile. Going to university will help me become specialised in the subject I
choose, and therefore is a very important aspect in my careered journey. I also
want to become more independent by moving away from home and
becoming more responsible.
