Indian Food
Today, India is the second most populous country in the world. The culture of India is also among the
oldest to survive, reaching back to nearly 5,000 years. India received their inde pendence from Britain
on August 15th, 1947, thus allowing them to become the most populous democracy in the world.
There are many aspects as to what makes India unique, one principle in particular is their food. Indian
cooking is vivid, exquisite, and simply delicious. It depends on a wide variety of spices, herbs, and
grains for its specific taste. The different types of food which India carry include basic spices,
traditional foods, and tasty snacks. It is notable that India has been one of the world s main dealer of
spices for at least 3,600 years. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are usually seasoned with spices and served over rice or with roti. Some factors as to what
makes them nutritious, are that they are filled with protein, vitamins and minerals. As stated, Indians
make hundreds of different types of juicy dishes, which are eaten with rice or Roti. Depending on the
type of spices, the sauces can be fiery or mild. Kormas, in particu lar, are rich and mild. Another
Indian flat bread, naan, is made by pressing dough onto the hot oven s walls (Sheen 24). Without raitas
and chutneys, a meal cannot be complete. Indian cooks tend to mix together yogurt, raw vegetables or
fruits, and various spices to make cool and creamy raitas. (Sheen 25) Cucumber mint raita is one of
the most popular types of raitas. Chutneys also come in a tremendous range of flavors. These
homemade, fresh relishes contain fruits and vege tables cut into tiny pieces and delicately flavored
with spices (Sheen 25). Chef Diane explains: Most Indian families take pride in their homemade
chutneys, houses are adorned with rows of jars maturing in the sun on the windowsills, and a hostess
is often judged by the number of rel ishes she serves. (qtd. in Sheen 27) India probably has more cows

most people in India are Hindu. In the religion of Hinduism, it teaches that animals, as well as
humans, have souls (Sheen 28). To many Hindus, cows are considered

English Language As A Language
Introduction
English has taken over the course of huge advancement that is the reason why it has been preferred
over any particular linguistics and for the same reason it has been taught and studied all around the
world. These prospects led to the formation of English language as a lingua franca, whether it s United
Kingdom, United States or Canada people have devised their own extents for speaking the
English(Wen, 2012). Not only in the European countries but also in all over South Asia, English has
been utilised as the lingua franca as the English language has been definitively utilised without being
necessarily the language of identification. English language has been utilised for the aspects of
communication because it determined the stylistic features of an enhanced community. Therefore
people all around the world started to learn English to modernise their linguistics and to be diversified
because in most of the countries all around the world only English language has advocated its
impression to lessen the communication barriers(Mufwene, 2012). In this particular essay it would be
realised that how English has transformed to become the lingua franca of the business world and what
could be the reasons, suggestions for business and for native and non native speakers of English.
Critical discussion
The presence of a worldwide lingua franca gives a favourable position to numerous individuals. This
incorporates both Anglophones and non Anglophones. People around the world

Ranger Killed During Rescue Of Climbers On Mount Rainer
If you were stuck on the top of a mountain with a broken leg wouldn t you want to get rescued? I think
the climbers should get rescued because rescue attempts can draw attention to the hazards and safety
of climbing, and the rescuers can become heroes. That s why people who put themselves at risk do
have the right to get rescued.
One reason people should have the right to rescue services is, when people get rescued it can draw
attention to hazards and safety of climbing. In the article Ranger Killed During Rescue of Climbers on
Mount Rainer it says, ...The loss of our son will draw appropriate attention to the hazards and safety
requirements and commitment to be involved in the profession and sport he so loved. (Seattle

The Theme Of Modernism In The Waste Land, By T. S. Eliot
T.S. Eliot, on his full name Thomas Stearns Eliot is an American writer known for his very influential
works of prose, poetry and literary criticism among we can mention The Waste Land (1922), Poems
(1919), Prufrock and Other Observations (1917), Hamlet and His Problems (1921),The Three Voices
of Poetry (1954). For many who know his work, T.S. Eliot is an important figure when it comes to
Modernism, often using in his writings references to myths and other personalities, juxtaposition of
different poetic voices, discourses and tradition. Modernism was a movement that influenced art and
culture during the late nineteenth to early twentieth century. More specifically in art and culture, artists
responded by trying to find new ways of seeing, new models of knowing...abandoning rules of
perspective, and in literature, abandoning a fixed point of view (Bentley Brooker17). A first look at the
poem is not enough to understand what it is about and although it might seem hard to be understood or
even ambiguous, it is important first to understand the historical background in order to decipher it.
Semy Rhee argues that one of the prominent elements in The Waste Land that makes the poem
difficult to understand is the historical references and allusions to other literary works. The ... Show

The Transition From A Nursing
In most departments of nursing, the transition from a nursing student to an employed or working
nursing is always a challenging experience for many nursing students. Most graduates are
ineffectually oriented to the nursing working environment. Generally, new nurses are not given an
environment that is supportive for them to practice what they learnt during their training as nurses,
regularly, the expectations they encounter are unrealistic. As a result of this, mentorship strategies
have been introduced by managers to ensure an easier transition into the working environment, this
helps the new nurses to adjust quickly and be able to share their challenges with their mentors, who
help them on how to face and conquer the challenges. During the orientation, the mentors help the
new nurses to shift from the behaviors they had as nursing students to the new cultures of the working
environment of nurses; this incorporates socialization into the orientation process, where the new
nurses are able to absorb, adjust, and adopt the culture, the language, and rules in the environment of
work. After a successful orientation, those who are able to adjust and cope with the work under the
rules provided are able to be taken in as part of the staff members. The managers ensure that all the
graduates are given the best orientation in order to be able to pick the best to be part of the nursing
staff in the department. The staffing of nurses by the majors is mainly done based on the number of

There is a cliché that the book is better than the movie. There has never been a case where that is more
apparent than the book written by Douglas Adams in 1978 to the 2005 movie rendition of The
Hitchhiker s Guide to the Galaxy directed by Garth Jennings. The Hitchhiker s Guide to the Galaxy is
an english science fiction comedy novel that follows Arthur Dent through his misadventures in the
galaxy with Ford prefect after earth is to be demolished to make way for an intergalactic bypass. The
story is satirical guide book to help you navigate and hitchhike throughout the galaxy. The first
comparison and contrast will be about the characters and their appearance and personality. The second
comparison will be the plot events. Lastly is the comparison and contrast of the resolution. Due to the
theme, plot, and resolution, the book is far superior than the movie.

The Power Of Julius Caesar
To continue, Julius Caesar s life was based around gaining more and more power because when
Caesar became dictator he began to conquer many places and people in order to become more
formidable. One example of this is Julius Caesar decided to try and attack Pompey by crossing the
River Rhine. EyeWitnessToHistory.com states,
It was January 49 BC, Caesar was staying in the Northern Italian city of Ravenna and he had a
decision to make. Either he acquiesced to the Senate s command or he moved southward to confront
Pompey and plunge the Roman Republic into a bloody civil war.
Farther into the article it claims,
In January of 49 BC, Julius Caesar led his army across the Rubicon river in Northern Italy and
plunged the Roman Republic into the civil war.
This shows that even the decision to start a civil war was to get more power because Caesar would be
taking over and controlling another powerful person. Another example, is Caesar conquers Gaul in
order to gain more power and be in control of more places. PBS.org states, Between 58 and 50 BC,
Caesar used his expertise in military strategy, along with the Roman army s training and discipline to
conquer and subdue the rest of Gail, up to the River Rhine.
This shows, that Julius Caesar even spent 8 years trying to conquer a country mainly for more control
and for him to have authority over more people. Some argue that 8 years of war shows he is truly
dedication to his people, but this is misleading because the outcome of

How Organizations Are Competing On Analytics Essay
Organizations are competing on analytics not just because they can business today is awash in data
and data crunchers but also because they should. At a time when firms in many industries offer similar
products and services, and use comparable technologies, businesses are among the last remaining
points of differentiation. And analytics competitors wring every last drop of value from those
processes. So, like other companies, they know what products their customers want, the prices they
are willing and ready to pay, and their spending patterns and other business parameters. An analytics

Porsche Changes Tack
Yes, of course, we have heard of shareholder value. But that does not change the fact that we put

Porsche had always been different. Statements by Porsche leadership, like the one above, always made
Veselina (Vesi) Dinova nervous about the company s attitude about creating shareholder value. The

Efficiency is not really critical because the firm s financial goals are not exclusively shareholder
oriented since they are constrained by the other stakeholders. In any case, stakeholder capitalism
assumes that long term loyal shareholders typically, controlling shareholders rather than the transient
portfolio investor should influence corporate strategy. Although both philosophies have their strengths
and weaknesses, two trends in recent years have led to an increasing focus on shareholder wealth.
First, as more of the non Anglo American markets have increasingly privatized their industries, the
shareholder wealth focus is seemingly needed to attract international capital from outside investors,
many of whom are from other countries. Second, and still quite controversial, many analysts believe
that shareholder based multinationals are increasingly dominating their global industry segments.

Red Figure Fish Plate Analysis
The different forms of early art from ancient Greece and Rome were not only used in grand objects
such as architecture and sculpture. Much art was government sponsored and intended for public
display, which instilled a sense of pride. Greeks and Romans also used art to decorate other commonly
used day to day items. Some examples would include pitchers, funerary kraters, and vases. In the case
of this article the Red Figure Fish Plate. The plate or platter demonstrates that although it is over two
thousand years old, the people from that time in history found it important to incorporate art into many
parts of their lives. Even to the point where it is used to decorate things they used in their house or the
houses themselves. This particular piece is important because of the detail and sophistication in which
it was made. There are many examples of ancient pottery and everyday items that anthropologists
have found over time. Most frequently though they are crude and utilitarian in purpose. Whereas the
fish plate is more decorative and ornamental. The plate was found thirty miles inland from the
northern coast of Greece inside of a large multi family crypt. The plate was found along with cups,
utensils, and a pestle and mortar. All of the things you would need to prepare a meal. Which then

Stephen Glass, to his editor and co workers. He deliberately sensationalized his stories in order to gain
his reader s attention. His facts were partially, if not completely, inaccurate and he presented notes that
he fabricated as facts for each of his pieces at the New Republic. Journalists in the media have a duty

In the case of the New Republic, they were lucky that Stephen Glass unethical behavior was exposed
or else the magazine could have suffered a great deal more than they already did having to admit that
most of his articles were fabricated. Unethical journalism as a whole causes society to feel as if they
can trust no one, which then leads people to feel as if they need to do their own research in order to
obtain the truth. Falsifying information only further disrupts the trust between the media and society.

UFOs: Are They Real?
UFOs have been one of the greatest mysteries of all times. From the beginning of time humans have
seen UFOs. The real mystery is whether or not a UFO is a ship from another planet. There have been
numerous reports of flying saucers. Many of them have been able to be explained and some were even
elaborate hoaxes. But still, there are a few out there that are unexplainable and could quiet possibly be
visitors from somewhere else in the universe. Even the government has admitted after long studies
that some of the reported cases seem to lean towards extraterrestrials. UFO stands for unidentified
flying object. Therefore the facts clearly show that UFOs are real.

The next morning a team of Royal Air Force scientists were sent to the site. They found three holes in
the ground in a perfect equilateral triangle and in the middle was a piece of scorched earth. There was
also a line on all the nearby trees about 4 feet off the ground (Kettelkamp 19). The scientists used a
Geiger counter and found extremely high radiation readings from the site. The next night the object
appeared again in a nearby field. When investigated the site was similar to the one from the previous
night. The official report stated that the object that showed up on the radar and was later seen in
Rendlesham Forest could not be identified (Kettelkamp 24).
Sightings of UFOs have not been limited to just on Earth. There have also been many sightings by
astronauts in space. Gemini 7 photographed what appeared to be two flying saucers. Apollo 8 may
have photographed what was a giant spaceship near the moon. On their next orbit the object had
disappeared. Apollo 11 may have also spotted a UFO near the moon. Possibly the most famous and
mysterious sighting is the picture taken by the Viking satellite. The photo shows what looks to be a
giant face on Mars. The face looks remarkably similar to the face on the Sphinx in Egypt. Some
believe it could be a giant monument from an alien race that once lived on Mars (Kettelkamp 7).
Photographic analysis could not identify any of the reported objects.

she feels drawn and the conflicting impulses which would steer her away from the proposal seem to

Edna, up until now, had been going through the motions of being a wife, mother and woman in the

does not fully understand why she is drawn to it, she goes. She likes the way the water feels when she

Edna also finds comfort in spending time with Adele whom she adores. They spend some time
together on the beach to escape Robert one time and talk. The two become close friends. Edna tells
Adele that looking over the beach and the water reminds her of her days in Kentucky as a child. This

The s Treatment Of Killer Whales
Ever since the entertainment industry began to capture animals for the enjoyment of others, activists
who believe animals can only subsist in the wild have been protesting against this monstrous act,
using powerful propaganda to entice others to join their cause. The critically acclaimed film Blackfish,
which highlights SeaWorld s treatment of killer whales, apparently reveals shocking and appalling
insight on accidental deaths caused by captive killer whales. One of the highest grossing
documentaries of all time, as stated on director Gabriela Cowperthwaite s website, Blackfish has
captivated millions of viewers, causing them to reevaluate their values and advocating against
SeaWorld. Although Cowperthwaite has stated in an interview that the film is not at all advocating for
anything, and that she attempted to take a journalistic approach to documenting these phenomena, it is
clear that the events depicted in the film reflect opposition to SeaWorld and its captivity of whales.
Although Blackfish extensively applies human emotion and concepts to the animal kingdom to solicit
sympathy from the viewers and provides misleading information to add to the sense of credibility,
further research contradicts the points made in the film, rendering the conveyance of the film s
admonition against the captivity of killer whales ineffective. The weight of the film lies in the deep
emotional underpinnings that convince viewers to feel compassion for the captive whales. The film

Racial Beliefs And Its Effect On Society
As a young girl, I have always associated white people with the quality of being rude or racist. For
example, not holding doors as I walked behind them or ignoring my friendly smiles and comments. I
vividly remember several occasions where I would be walking two steps being a Caucasian person
and they would fail to hold the door open allowing it to slam in my face. There is also an uneasy stare
that is given while shopping, such as following African Americans around the store to watch them
make sure they are not stealing. The belief that white people are rude is not limited to black people,
but other minorities as well because their cultural beliefs and practices are often disrespected.
The stereotype emerged from personal experiences throughout my daily life. My mother would also
agree that most individuals who are white are rude to minorities because of their sense of entitlement.
She would often have to console me because, at a young age, I would acknowledge the difference in
treatment I received. About other cultures, their cultural beliefs are often disregarded and are not given
the time to understand. When someone is not fluent in English, they are often disregarded instead of
taking the time is comprehend their statement. Blacks are typically characterized as thieves or
hoodlums, Muslims are terrorist, and Mexicans are all labor workers, which are incorrect statements
and over generalized.

Limitations of Population Growth
Introduction There are a number of factors that can contribute to the growth of a population and these
trends can be seen in a number of species. It is generally believed, from an ecological perspective, that
populations will display either an exponential of logistic growth rate. If optimal environments are
consistently maintained with no biotic or abiotic limiting factors (excess food, excess space
availability, optimum climactic environment, no predation, etc) then a population will grow in an
exponential direction. Species with high maximal relative growth rates do not occupy infertile habitats
because their physiologies are more sensitive to suboptimal habitats and so their relative growth rates
decrease more rapidly as fertility ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each bottle was filled 3/4 full with spring water from the San Marcos River. The water levels in the
bottles were marked for future reference. Ten large Daphnia magna were carefully placed n each bottle
along with a pinch of Spirulina (powdered algae). For the duration of the experiment, only the
supplemented group of Daphnia magna received food weekly, the unsupplemented did not. Spring
water was added periodically to the bottles when the water levels were below the line marked
previously. Each week the numbers of Daphnia were counted utilizing a light source in order to
illuminate the Daphnia and allowed them to be visible. The daphnia were placed in the designated lab
area that maintained at room temperature. The data for a total span of 8 weeks was pooled and
recorded. The data was then used for various types of statistical analysis including weekly means, per
capita growth rates, t tests, etc.
Results According to the data collected, the Daphnia magna population in neither the supplemented
treatment nor the unsupplemented treatment portrayed either the exponential or logistic growth model.
The supplemented group showed a steady decline in the population while the unsupplemented group
at first began with a significant drop off at first but then also became a steady decline. The week with
the highest maximum growth rate for the supplemented group was week 7 and for the unsupplemented
group was also in week 7. The

Fracking And The Natural Gas Production
Fracking isn t a word that most people are familiar with unless they are well informed or active in
local government or natural gas extraction. Hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, involves extracting
natural gas from shale formations underground (Collier, Galatas, Harrelson Stephens, 2008). During
the process known as fracking, millions of gallons of water are shot underground into shale formations
to help bring the natural gas trapped inside the formations to be released so that it can surface and
become available for extraction. This is the technique that is used for traditional fracking methods.
Although fracking increases the states natural gas production, it also carries some negative side effects
that are affecting the state and its people. When most people think of Texas they think of the booming
oil industry that the state has. According to our textbook, Texas accounts for almost one third of the
country s natural gas production and holds almost almost a quarter of the country s natural gas
reserves. Texas has greatly invested in the recourses that are found within the state which makes gives
the state a huge economic advantage. When fracking is used to help turn out even larger quantities of
natural gas, the economic impact is huge. If the state greatly invested in fracking sites and the use of
both traditional and horizontal fracking, the economic gain in the near future could be huge. The state
could be turning out twice the amount of natural gas as it is

Apollo 11 Persuasive Essay
It was a long anticipated summer night, when millions of Americans crowded around their bulky
television screens. It was 1969, America had recently passed through the height of the Cold War, but
their relationship with the Soviet Union continued to become more hostile. There was no clear winner
in sight, and America was desperate for a definitive victory, it was this moment, in this very moment
that they finally had one, and they clung to it. This moment was, of course, the Apollo 11 moon
landing on the 20th of July, 1969. However, as with many famous events captured in the public eye, it
wasn t long before conspiracies began to unfold. Some began to question the validity of the
photographs and videos associated with the moon landings, others made claims that the government
couldn t possibly have had the technology necessary to successfully land on the moon, and some even
went as far as to point out the exact set and director that supposedly filmed the hoaxed moon landings.
I first became aware of the conspiracy surrounding the moon landings about two years ago when I
watched a documentary on the topic and naturally, being the patriotic American that I am, I sided with
NASA without considering any evidence on either side of the argument, but recently, the topic was
brought up in conversation and it stuck an interest within me. So in this essay I will throw my
preconceived notions out the metaphorical window, and I will attempt an unbiased investigation to
find out where my

Ireland American Culture
There are many crucial aspects to keeping a culture alive. Alongside traditions, food, rituals, and
practices, music stands to be a vital facet to maintain the presence of a certain country or people
group. In Ireland, music was and is a huge part of how people communicate ideas, entertain
themselves, and engage with the community. Ireland s musical history began thousands of years ago
but continues to stay a cherished part of Irish culture in its traditional form, as well as more
Americanized forms of original pieces. Irish folk music underwent many stages to become what it is
today in terms of notation, instrumentation, technological advancement, and purpose. From simple

Ireland was a colony under British rule and regulation for many centuries. This alone had a major
impact on the morale and sense of nationalism among the people of the country (Galvin, Ireland s
Musical Heritage). The Irish people also endured the Irish potato famine. During this time period
otherwise known as the Great Famine, Ireland experienced years of extreme starvation and poverty, as
well as disease and emigration. This had a great influence on Ireland s development as a country.
Instead of having positive relationships with music and art, among other aspects of the culture, of
course, the people of Ireland had a negative outlook on most of life, and rightfully so. However, music
and song were held to be an even more important aspect of communication rather than spoken word
(Mokyr, The Great Famine). The communication of song was deeper and better exemplified the
people of Ireland s sense of nationalism and pride in their country. In 1921, Ireland signed a peace
treaty with Great Britain that granted them independence from British rule. This allowed Irish
musicians and tradition keepers to really express a new found sense of nationalism and pride in their
country that was really displayed in the compositions and pieces created around the time(Galvin,
Ireland s Musical Heritage) Overall the history of ireland played a huge role in the development of
their musical styles, and it is clear that with the great amount of emigration and the continued healing
of the counland try from a once starving country to a thriving place, that the music and inspiration
behind Irish music has evolved, and been able to influence, as well as take influence from other

Data Security Case Study
The Compromising of Data Security Due to Corporate Consolidation The United States has held
serious tension with monopolies and overarching, powerful companies since before the Boston Tea
Party. They are some of the most illicit phenomena known to Americans, which has led to its
governmental regulation. Nevertheless, Americans have found a near enough equivalent: oligopolies;
the formation of very few, large companies dominating their respective sectors through what is
recognized as the concept of corporate consolidation . This process involves eliminating the
competition by essentially purchasing it, maintaining only a few potent, growing, businesses in the
market (Wu). Found in any type of industry, the pairing of the power these ... Show more content on

Moreover, there are laws and organizations that are designed to try and defend the consumer in
instances involving large corporations such as the F.T.C, which initiated an investigation but could not

evade the situation by convincing the court that the case needs to be tried as individuals and not as a
whole enterprise(Henning). The implementing of organizations like these is supposed to ensure the
safety of the consumer, but evidently, that s a goal that is currently not being fulfilled (Sotto and
Logan). Incidents like the Equifax security breach is just one of many that demonstrate that the
administration holds an insufficient amount of power to successfully regulate the way that members of
oligopolies handle their customers personal information. Even more concerning is the way in which
Equifax managed said infringement. The prolonged time that the corporation took to notify its

Sociology Of South African Sociology
South African sociology (Webster, 2004, p. 28) can be considered as the result of the combination of
different types of sociology due to the various changes that taken place in South African society
throughout its history (Webster, 2004, p. 28). Marxism (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 117), which is
one of the main contributors to this sociology, was coined by Karl Marx, a German sociologist who by
observing the various relations within a society came up with his own beliefs on how society has
changed and how it can be improved which have been widely used across the world (Macionis
Plummer, 2012, p. 117). He believed that in the past, people lived in collective groups and were not
divided by economic status but shared what they had and focused more on working together than
working for each other and this was referred to as communism (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 119).
However, Marx suggested that as time progressed people began to fight for land and possessions and
this led to weaker groups being kept as slaves (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 18) and were used for the
benefit of their capturers and this ultimately created a distinction between those who had power and
those who did not (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 119). Marx also suggested that from this came what is
known as capitalism (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 117), which was the result of technological
advancements such as the use of machines to produce goods in factories (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p.
117)

Historical Impact Of 1968
THE IMPACT OF 1968
The world revolution of 1968 of course primarily concerned a series of major political issues: the
hegemony of the United States and its world policies, which had led it into the Vietnam war; the
relatively passive attitude of the Soviet Union, which the 1968 revolutionaries saw as collusion with
the United States; the inefficacy of the traditional Old Left movements in opposing the status quo. In
retrospect, 1968, the year of global revolt halfway between the end of World War II and the end of the
Cold War, looked like a failed revolution. Nonetheless, the impacts of 1968 formulated ever gradually
progressing definitions of today s world system.
The change protagonists attributed for in the belief of a common cause, opposing the domestic and
international status quo establishments in the name of participatory democracy, political freedom, and
personal self determination, were fundamentally doomed from the basic cornerstones of their
initiations. Thus, the main objectives of stopping the autocracy of the state to decentralize its
foundations to clear a path to economic and political power distributions of a ... Show more content on

Reflection On Coaching Shadowing
I have critically reviewed both coaches A and B comparing them to each other. I will use Gibbs (1988)
model to help me reflective critically on the coaching shadowing I had to undertake as part of my
Sport Studies degree with the University of Hertfordshire during semester A. The reflection is for both
experiences with Coach A and B.
Coach A
Description
I undertook my coach shadowing in November for three weeks at Watford Academy. Sessions were
two hours long; the plan was to shadow at 8 hours for both coaches but as their training schedule
clashed with me under 12 team matches I was not able to do so. However, the overall experience
involved me shadowing coach A from a distance because the head of academy believed it would be
best I give the players and coach space. The sessions involved a mixture of technical practices at the
start with passing, dribbling and shooting activities then would progress into tactical practices such as
5v3 possession, one versus one on goal, 6v3 counter/overload scenarios and would normally end with
a small sided game. I was also able to observe a match with Arsenal V Watford U16. Arsenal won 5 0.
As for coach B I coach shadowed for four sessions, 90 minutes long, sessions included 30 minutes of
technical work, 10 minute tag game, 25 minutes on overloads and 20 minute match time.
Feelings
During the start of the experience, I felt thrilled, animated and overjoyed to have an opportunity to
shadow with Watford s academy. I saw it as an opportunity to get my foot in the door at the club, so it
could be a possible club I could work for in the future. However, as the experience continued, and the
weeks went by I was sceptical at the level of coaching I observed and frustrated with the attitude from
specific Watford players. From my point of view, I see it as a fantastic opportunity for both coaches
and players to use the club as a stepping stone to better themselves and give 100% in every session.
However, at times it felt like both coach and players treated it like they were going to do a shift in a
supermarket as an example. That was the vibe I got, perhaps the coach did not meet his role as being a
motivator for his players. Overall, I feel fortunate and thankful to have

Chapter 1: Orienting Concepts
The chapter discusses how human development is affected by the nature in which a person is born
into. It discusses how worldviews regarding child s development vary among different regions
throughout the continents. The chapter goes into the similarities of cultures as well as the differences
of how humans develop across the board in all areas of thought in different regions of the world. The
author tries to link human development with cultural aspects of how problem solving occurs as far as
cultural influences are concerned. The nature of human development may occur in a pattern with all
types of cultures and background. The chapter continued to discuss how people experience other
cultures when they are removed from their area to a different place. This occurs in the form of culture
shock people experience new traditions that are unfamiliar to them when the come to a place that is
home to another culture. Human development may also include joining the ideas of various cultures
and forming it into a new concept. It puts heavy emphasis on learning other cultures in an unbiased

Ground temperatures in parts of the North are warming by one 10th of a degree after every ten years.
Where ground ice contents are comparatively high, melting permafrost can have significant impacts,
some of which may take not be as willingly obvious as others. On ice, you do not need a very sloped
surface before you start to slip or slide and hence, that is what happens with the permafrost and
overlying land, resulting in landslides in the North. Also, melting permafrost leads to subsidence,
which occurs usually when permafrost thaws/melts and the soil formerly held up by the ice caves in.
An example of this would be about Iqaluit s Arctic Winter Games arena, where the floor began to sink
soon after the building opened in October 2001. It is predicted that permafrost area may decrease by
approximately thirty seven to eighty one percent by the end of the century! As temperatures keep
getting warmer, permafrost will continue to thaw. Moreover, changes in permafrost have unpleasant
results for infrastructure designed for permafrost conditions. Eventually, pipelines, airstrips and roads
need to be changed because they depend on permafrost for structural integrity. The estimated costs to
upgrade and fix buildings or infra structure in Canada s North could range from $250 million to $420
million. All these current/predicted changes due to melting permafrost has resulted in a huge or major
burden on the government resources.100 and 1000 of people in North Canada live on permafrost.
Once the frozen water turns into water, it makes it quite difficult for the people in the towns to find
drinking water. To conclude, melting permafrost in North Canada has resulted in landslides,
subsidence, damage to infra structure and people are facing trouble in accessing

Impact Of Trade Compliance On The World Of Economics
1. Introduction In the world of Economics, the important word come to mind of people is Trade.
Trading has been done from the time when human begin start to use tools that is circa 150,000 years
ago(Watson 2005). Since then we have come a large leap from trading small stone tools to
sophisticated machineries and advance software today. This report revolves about the specific topic of
Trade Compliance which is relatively new to the pitch compared to the age of trade. The term Trade
Compliance means that the trade done in with compliance to law of the countries in which the parties
perform the trade. When did all the regulation start on the trade it dates to the time when the humans
started to sail and import the goods of value to their own nation and government start to put taxes on
the goods which are of high value this kind of regulation or the compliance is called the tariffing of
trade. This further developed when the world is further connected and all the nation wants to do eat
their share of pie in the world economics and thus bought the introduction of the Harmonized Tariff
System back in 1988(Aoki Sibylle Bauer Quentin Michel Filippo Sevini Ian Stewart Webmaster

The Models For Observational Learning
According to Bandura (Wortley, 2011), people acquire behaviour through a process of observation and
imitation called modelling. There are three main models for observational learning: familiar models in
which a person imitates the behaviour of a family member, subculture models in which a person
imitates the behaviour of a member of one s subculture, and symbolic models where an individual
imitates the behaviour represented symbolically through words and pictures such as television.
Furthermore, Bandura claimed that there were four factors required for the success of modelling:
attention, retention, reproduction, and reinforcement. First, an individual must show attention to a
model. The more attention shown depends on the frequency the ... Show more content on

Wortley (2011) proposes that children who are raised in abusive households are more likely to engage
in criminal activity. Familiar modelling also plays apart in Marys criminal behaviour. By the time
Mary ran away from home she was already shop lifting, carrying out petty thefts and engaging in
prostitution which concluded with her arrest for murder. Felson and Lane (2009) suggests that children
who have been physically or sexually abused learn to use violence as an acceptable way to resolve
their problems through modelling. Furthermore, Felson and Lane (2009) suggest that sexually abused
children are more likely to engage in prostitution and that physically abused children were more likely
to commit offences such as assault, murder, and robbery. In Marys case she was both physically and
sexually abused and did engage in prostitution as well as commit robbery and murder. Marys criminal
behaviour as well as her alcohol and drug abuse is mainly the result of the modelling influences of her
family and peers. The Social Cognitive Learning Theory argues that behaviour occurs not only as a
result of the environment but because of an individual s cognitive representation of that environment,
known as the S O R model (stimulus organism response). Wortley (2011) states that The Social

Stories of People before Us
It was many years ago, long before your beloved parents or even their own. It was far past the time
when skyscrapers first began their grazing of the heavens, past even the taking advantage of devote
teachers. Further still, our story takes us. Much like many tales of this sort there is perhaps little truth
weaved in all that serve not as references for literal information but references for wisdom and
understanding. I do not profess that readers who study these tomes will come out any the wiser, nor is
it this tome s sole purpose. Some things in life do not require purpose nor plan, but moving forward.
Before our world, there was perhaps another. In it lived a single person, a woman perhaps, who ruled
over all the animals and plants. She, like most others, did not enjoy her solitude and decided to design
a people to accompany her. So thus, people came to be. Despite the people, she had no joy. Those she
had created were savage, greedy, and sinful. It displeased her. However, she was merciful and could
not bring herself to destroy them, so instead felt it necessary to guide them. To assist her she created a
new type of people, one who would embody all that she valued. These people would be rulers and
would rule over the other citizens. To form her new rulers she took four traits, agápē (unconditional
love), compassion, generosity, trustworthiness, and composed one whom she would entrust with her
people. Carefully she layered a combination of agápē trustworthiness

Transition And Secondary School Secondary Schools
For the majority of young people, transitions or transfers generally occur between nursery and primary
school, primary school and secondary school, and from secondary school to higher education and/or
work (Topping, 2011). Sometimes this change is known as transition, sometimes as transfer but for the
purpose of this study we will use the term transition. Transition can be defined as a passage or change
from one stage to another. At around the age of 11, pupils are required to make that change from
primary to secondary school. This typically involves a change of school location, meeting and forming
relationships with new peers, learning to organise and meet deadlines and responding to a number of
teachers for different subject areas. Secondary schools tend to be much larger than primary schools
and pupils are often required to move from one location to another for their classes. At the same time,
they need to arrive to each class on time. With this is mind, it is important for the pupils to learn what
organisation involves to meet the timetable requirements. These challenges are different to those in
primary school were pupils spend the majority of their day in the same classroom setting with the
same teacher and same peer groups (Coffey, 2013). In contrast to secondary school, all of their
personal belongings are located in this one classroom.

More specifically in art and culture, artists responded by trying to find new ways of seeing, new models of knowing...abandoning rules of perspective, and in literature, abandoning a fixed point of view (Bentley Brooker17). A first look at the poem is not enough to understand what it is about and although it might seem hard to be understood or even ambiguous, it is important first to understand the historical background in order to decipher it. Semy Rhee argues that one of the prominent elements in The Waste Land that makes the poem difficult to understand is the historical references and allusions to other literary works. The ... • 8. The Transition From A Nursing In most departments of nursing, the transition from a nursing student to an employed or working nursing is always a challenging experience for many nursing students. Most graduates are ineffectually oriented to the nursing working environment. Generally, new nurses are not given an environment that is supportive for them to practice what they learnt during their training as nurses, regularly, the expectations they encounter are unrealistic. As a result of this, mentorship strategies have been introduced by managers to ensure an easier transition into the working environment, this helps the new nurses to adjust quickly and be able to share their challenges with their mentors, who help them on how to face and conquer the challenges. During the orientation, the mentors help the new nurses to shift from the behaviors they had as nursing students to the new cultures of the working environment of nurses; this incorporates socialization into the orientation process, where the new nurses are able to absorb, adjust, and adopt the culture, the language, and rules in the environment of work. After a successful orientation, those who are able to adjust and cope with the work under the rules provided are able to be taken in as part of the staff members. One example of this is Julius Caesar decided to try and attack Pompey by crossing the River Rhine. EyeWitnessToHistory.com states, It was January 49 BC, Caesar was staying in the Northern Italian city of Ravenna and he had a decision to make. Either he acquiesced to the Senate s command or he moved southward to confront Pompey and plunge the Roman Republic into a bloody civil war. Hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, involves extracting natural gas from shale formations underground (Collier, Galatas, Harrelson Stephens, 2008). During the process known as fracking, millions of gallons of water are shot underground into shale formations to help bring the natural gas trapped inside the formations to be released so that it can surface and become available for extraction. This is the technique that is used for traditional fracking methods. Although fracking increases the states natural gas production, it also carries some negative side effects that are affecting the state and its people. They are some of the most illicit phenomena known to Americans, which has led to its governmental regulation. Nevertheless, Americans have found a near enough equivalent: oligopolies; the formation of very few, large companies dominating their respective sectors through what is recognized as the concept of corporate consolidation . This process involves eliminating the competition by essentially purchasing it, maintaining only a few potent, growing, businesses in the market (Wu). Found in any type of industry, the pairing of the power these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Moreover, there are laws and organizations that are designed to try and defend the consumer in instances involving large corporations such as the F.T.C, which initiated an investigation but could not heavily fine the institution because it was a first offense, and the C.F.P.B, that could not undergo prosecution of Equifax because of their sole focus on the quality and/or deceit of products being sold in the market. Even if regulators could open up a case for Equifax, executives would find a way to evade the situation by convincing the court that the case needs to be tried as individuals and not as a whole enterprise(Henning). The implementing of organizations like these is supposed to ensure the safety of the consumer, but evidently, that s a goal that is currently not being fulfilled (Sotto and Logan). Incidents like the Equifax security breach is just one of many that demonstrate that the administration holds an insufficient amount of power to successfully regulate the way that members of oligopolies handle their customers personal information. Even more concerning is the way in which Equifax managed said infringement. The prolonged time that the corporation took to notify its customers of the illegal data access refrained them from performing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Sociology Of South African Sociology South African sociology (Webster, 2004, p. 28) can be considered as the result of the combination of different types of sociology due to the various changes that taken place in South African society throughout its history (Webster, 2004, p. 28). Marxism (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 117), which is one of the main contributors to this sociology, was coined by Karl Marx, a German sociologist who by observing the various relations within a society came up with his own beliefs on how society has changed and how it can be improved which have been widely used across the world (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 117). He believed that in the past, people lived in collective groups and were not divided by economic status but shared what they had and focused more on working together than working for each other and this was referred to as communism (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 119). However, Marx suggested that as time progressed people began to fight for land and possessions and this led to weaker groups being kept as slaves (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 18) and were used for the benefit of their capturers and this ultimately created a distinction between those who had power and those who did not (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 119). Marx also suggested that from this came what is known as capitalism (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 117), which was the result of technological advancements such as the use of machines to produce goods in factories (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 117) ... • 30. Historical Impact Of 1968 THE IMPACT OF 1968 The world revolution of 1968 of course primarily concerned a series of major political issues: the hegemony of the United States and its world policies, which had led it into the Vietnam war; the relatively passive attitude of the Soviet Union, which the 1968 revolutionaries saw as collusion with the United States; the inefficacy of the traditional Old Left movements in opposing the status quo. In retrospect, 1968, the year of global revolt halfway between the end of World War II and the end of the Cold War, looked like a failed revolution. Nonetheless, the impacts of 1968 formulated ever gradually progressing definitions of today s world system. The change protagonists attributed for in the belief of a common cause, opposing the domestic and international status quo establishments in the name of participatory democracy, political freedom, and personal self determination, were fundamentally doomed from the basic cornerstones of their initiations. • 31. Reflection On Coaching Shadowing I have critically reviewed both coaches A and B comparing them to each other. I will use Gibbs (1988) model to help me reflective critically on the coaching shadowing I had to undertake as part of my Sport Studies degree with the University of Hertfordshire during semester A. The reflection is for both experiences with Coach A and B. Coach A Description I undertook my coach shadowing in November for three weeks at Watford Academy. Sessions were two hours long; the plan was to shadow at 8 hours for both coaches but as their training schedule clashed with me under 12 team matches I was not able to do so. However, the overall experience involved me shadowing coach A from a distance because the head of academy believed it would be best I give the players and coach space. The sessions involved a mixture of technical practices at the start with passing, dribbling and shooting activities then would progress into tactical practices such as 5v3 possession, one versus one on goal, 6v3 counter/overload scenarios and would normally end with a small sided game. I was also able to observe a match with Arsenal V Watford U16. Arsenal won 5 0. As for coach B I coach shadowed for four sessions, 90 minutes long, sessions included 30 minutes of technical work, 10 minute tag game, 25 minutes on overloads and 20 minute match time. Feelings During the start of the experience, I felt thrilled, animated and overjoyed to have an opportunity to shadow with Watford s academy. I saw it as an opportunity to get my foot in the door at the club, so it could be a possible club I could work for in the future. However, as the experience continued, and the weeks went by I was sceptical at the level of coaching I observed and frustrated with the attitude from specific Watford players. From my point of view, I see it as a fantastic opportunity for both coaches and players to use the club as a stepping stone to better themselves and give 100% in every session. However, at times it felt like both coach and players treated it like they were going to do a shift in a supermarket as an example. That was the vibe I got, perhaps the coach did not meet his role as being a motivator for his players. Overall, I feel fortunate and thankful to have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Nunavut Environmental Change Greetings, my name is Syed Raza and today I am representing the provinces and the territories in North of Canada. We will be discussing about the predicted and current changes caused by global warming to the environment of Yukon, North West Territories and Nunavut. My aim is to discuss the top three important environmental changes for which Canada and its people need to develop adaptation plans. Well, surprisingly global average temperature has increased by 2C to 4C in the past 55 years. Moreover, the precipitation has increased the most in the north, rising by 61 percent in the Arctic Tundra and by 32 percent in the Arctic Mountains. Added to this, it is expected for the temperature to rise 2C more by 2020 and 4C by 2050, affecting the natural ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ground temperatures in parts of the North are warming by one 10th of a degree after every ten years. Where ground ice contents are comparatively high, melting permafrost can have significant impacts, some of which may take not be as willingly obvious as others. On ice, you do not need a very sloped surface before you start to slip or slide and hence, that is what happens with the permafrost and overlying land, resulting in landslides in the North. Also, melting permafrost leads to subsidence, which occurs usually when permafrost thaws/melts and the soil formerly held up by the ice caves in. An example of this would be about Iqaluit s Arctic Winter Games arena, where the floor began to sink soon after the building opened in October 2001. It is predicted that permafrost area may decrease by approximately thirty seven to eighty one percent by the end of the century! As temperatures keep getting warmer, permafrost will continue to thaw. Moreover, changes in permafrost have unpleasant results for infrastructure designed for permafrost conditions. Eventually, pipelines, airstrips and roads need to be changed because they depend on permafrost for structural integrity. The estimated costs to upgrade and fix buildings or infra structure in Canada s North could range from $250 million to $420 million. All these current/predicted changes due to melting permafrost has resulted in a huge or major burden on the government resources.100 and 1000 of people in North Canada live on permafrost. Once the frozen water turns into water, it makes it quite difficult for the people in the towns to find drinking water. To conclude, melting permafrost in North Canada has resulted in landslides, subsidence, damage to infra structure and people are facing trouble in accessing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. The Models For Observational Learning According to Bandura (Wortley, 2011), people acquire behaviour through a process of observation and imitation called modelling. There are three main models for observational learning: familiar models in which a person imitates the behaviour of a family member, subculture models in which a person imitates the behaviour of a member of one s subculture, and symbolic models where an individual imitates the behaviour represented symbolically through words and pictures such as television. Furthermore, Bandura claimed that there were four factors required for the success of modelling: attention, retention, reproduction, and reinforcement. First, an individual must show attention to a model. The more attention shown depends on the frequency the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Wortley (2011) proposes that children who are raised in abusive households are more likely to engage in criminal activity. Familiar modelling also plays apart in Marys criminal behaviour. By the time Mary ran away from home she was already shop lifting, carrying out petty thefts and engaging in prostitution which concluded with her arrest for murder. Felson and Lane (2009) suggests that children who have been physically or sexually abused learn to use violence as an acceptable way to resolve their problems through modelling. Furthermore, Felson and Lane (2009) suggest that sexually abused children are more likely to engage in prostitution and that physically abused children were more likely to commit offences such as assault, murder, and robbery. In Marys case she was both physically and sexually abused and did engage in prostitution as well as commit robbery and murder. Marys criminal behaviour as well as her alcohol and drug abuse is mainly the result of the modelling influences of her family and peers. The Social Cognitive Learning Theory argues that behaviour occurs not only as a result of the environment but because of an individual s cognitive representation of that environment, known as the S O R model (stimulus organism response). • 38. Stories of People before Us It was many years ago, long before your beloved parents or even their own. It was far past the time when skyscrapers first began their grazing of the heavens, past even the taking advantage of devote teachers. Further still, our story takes us. Much like many tales of this sort there is perhaps little truth weaved in all that serve not as references for literal information but references for wisdom and understanding. I do not profess that readers who study these tomes will come out any the wiser, nor is it this tome s sole purpose. Some things in life do not require purpose nor plan, but moving forward. Before our world, there was perhaps another. In it lived a single person, a woman perhaps, who ruled over all the animals and plants. She, like most others, did not enjoy her solitude and decided to design a people to accompany her. So thus, people came to be. Despite the people, she had no joy. Those she had created were savage, greedy, and sinful. It displeased her. However, she was merciful and could not bring herself to destroy them, so instead felt it necessary to guide them. To assist her she created a new type of people, one who would embody all that she valued. These people would be rulers and would rule over the other citizens. To form her new rulers she took four traits, agápē (unconditional love), compassion, generosity, trustworthiness, and composed one whom she would entrust with her people. Carefully she layered a combination of agápē trustworthiness ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Transition And Secondary School Secondary Schools For the majority of young people, transitions or transfers generally occur between nursery and primary school, primary school and secondary school, and from secondary school to higher education and/or work (Topping, 2011). Sometimes this change is known as transition, sometimes as transfer but for the purpose of this study we will use the term transition. Transition can be defined as a passage or change from one stage to another. At around the age of 11, pupils are required to make that change from primary to secondary school. This typically involves a change of school location, meeting and forming relationships with new peers, learning to organise and meet deadlines and responding to a number of teachers for different subject areas. Secondary schools tend to be much larger than primary schools and pupils are often required to move from one location to another for their classes. At the same time, they need to arrive to each class on time. With this is mind, it is important for the pupils to learn what organisation involves to meet the timetable requirements. These challenges are different to those in primary school were pupils spend the majority of their day in the same classroom setting with the same teacher and same peer groups (Coffey, 2013). In contrast to secondary school, all of their personal belongings are located in this one classroom. 2 Despite the many obstacles that pupils face, there is much to look forward to.
