The Color Of Skin, Past Ancestry, And Place Of Living
No matter how alike people may be, segregation is a way of living. As humans we typically find
ourselves separated into groups that we can identify with; from being athletic, to being artistic and
even a person s religion. Another path to separation taken by many is by a person s race. One s race
can be described in a variety of ways; color of the skin, past ancestry, and place of origin.
Discrimination is normally placed with race; this can either be a privilege or a disadvantage.
A race can be described as a group of people identified as distinct from other groups because of
supposed physical or genetic traits shared by the group. The color of one s skin is the identifier that
most of us use to distinguish ones race. The color of skin can reveal a lot about a person. It can tell
about their origin. People in Northern Europe or Japan tend to have lighter skin than people whose
ancestors are from sub Saharan Africa or Australia because the difference in sun exposure. The more
exposed ones skin is to the sun the darker it gets, along with the less exposed to the sun the lighter the
skin. Ethnicity and race are uniquely tied together; they are however two separate concepts. Race has
more to do with where a person originates while ethnicity has to do with one s culture. Culture can be
seen as a group of people s traditions, customs or beliefs. Generally, with in separate cultures, the
races of the people in the group are the same, not always though. Consequently, most

2004 Indian Ocean Earthquake Essay
The 9.0 magnitude Indian Ocean earthquake was caused by subduction under the Indian Ocean.
Earthquakes are usually caused by convection currents leading to subduction/convergent currents.
Convection currents is caused by magma rising from the deepest part of the earth, then slowly cooling,
sinking again then re heating, then rising upwards basically repeating the rising and cooling then re
heating cycle over and over again. The plates are separated from each other and they move apart, the
plates then obviously hit another plate right next to it causing subduction. This earthquake was caused
on the Oceanic crust, in the Indian Ocean, creating tsunamis that caused disasters and thousands of life
loss throughout the Indian Ocean basin. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People have a home but once the home is destroyed, there is no roof to stay under. Everything such as
money and belongings will be all gone meaning everyone will have to start over. People would
become greedy and criminal like since no one has anything left. If people see things that are valuable,
people will fight and argue to win that valuable thing causing war leading to death. Everyone will
starve because of hunger. No one will have the utensils and time to cook. If there were things to cook
with, there will be no crops or animals left to cook/eat. In conclusion, natural disasters have a huge
effect to the environment and people. War will start since everything would be extremely valuable,
everyone will fight to get what they need and want.
Preparation and/or recovery from your disaster:
To reduce the damage that earthquakes create, people construct buildings that are stable. Japan is
where there are lots of earthquakes but their buildings don t collapse. Japanese pagodas are five
stories. The pagodas are held up by a central pillar acting as the support. During earthquake s, each
floor balances independently without transmitting force to other floors.
There are other ways to improve buildings to reduce the impact of earthquakes. In some Japanese
buildings, there s a base isolation built. The Base Isolation is a system that is made of steel disks.
These steel disks are made of soft materials to soften the transmission of seismic movement from the
ground

Leave the Past Behind Essay examples
Leave The Past Behind
As the matter of fact, the racial diversity in the world is increasing day by day. However, people just
need to find out how to live comfortably with other of different history s background. It is true that the
process to overcome the past between nations and the discrimination between races takes an amount
of time. Nevertheless, people nowadays are opening a new chapter of life. In reality, people all over
the world now do not think about the painful past, the war or whatsoever anymore; instead, they start
to shake hand, make business or lifting embargoes which last decades. In the essay, Vietnamese

now are living in the United States as 1.5 generation. The term is talking about young Vietnamese
people who were originally born in Vietnam but they grown up in America. And because these people
grew up in America, this group of people tends to have a little bit difference in the way of thinking or
to no longer look at the past to decide what to do for the future. In the essay Wride wrote: Generally,
they have not inherited their parents hatred of Communism or qualms about trading with a former
enemy. 1.5 generation is carefree about what happened to their parents, to their ancestry, relatives and
their people. Through several of 1.5 generation group s interviews, they are certain don t really want to
talk about the painful past which causes many lost for their parents, dead of their people anymore.
According to Tran, twenty two years old, he said his hatred toward Vietnam couldn t get to any place
closer and be comparable to that of his parents toward the Vietnam government. As Tran said, I might
not be able to remember the persecution they had to go through, and the corruption, the hardship the

Coming Back to Cultural Imperialism
Coming back to Cultural Imperialism. We would like to start with the most rudimentary questions.
What is culture. Why do we need to talk about it. What does Imperialism have to do with culture. And
what is Cultural Imperialism. When Steger talks about the cultural dimension of globalization, he uses
the words symbolic construction, articulation, and dissemination of meaning (90). Culture can define
an individual, a group, a society, a nation or even the globe. Humans are social beings and since pre
historic times humans have been inquisitive and have embarked upon journeys to find new
civilization. Today we are looking for life on other planets. When a person interacts with another, the
first judgment he makes is about his nature. Similarly when we find ourselves in a new atmosphere, a
new culture, the first few things we pick up are the culture not the economic status or the political
scenario. It could be as simple as a greeting in the native language, or knowledge about the local
cuisine, clothes or traditions. We all know that Vasco Da Gama brought along spices from his visit to
India. What intrigues us so much, must be of huge importance. Culture exists in the form of ideas,
language, identity, images and everything the human mind can perceive. Cultural is the inherent
reactions, the way we behave socially, what we believe in and what makes us stand apart or defines us
as a group. An interesting term at the heart of our discussion is cultural products . According to

Caffeine the Most Popular Drug in The World
Coffee and tea have been around for many centuries. Coffee was discovered in the land of Abyssinia
or also known as Ethiopia (Pendergrast, 2001). It became one of the many sources to create ideas, a
common drink for work or school, and created problems. It is common to buy coffee now from
Starbucks, Philz Coffee, or brewing it ourselves. Coffee is use to start out our day and keep us awake.
Since discovering coffee, Americans consume it everyday. On the other hand, not only is coffee very
popular drink but so is drinking Tea. The discovery of tea is very diverse, it goes through many
histories and cultural stories. The history of it started out when the British made tea their representing

Patient Education For Patients And The Education
Introduction
Patient Education is dedicated to patients and the education we should be providing as health care
professional on a day to day basis. Patient Education is one of more important jobs we do in our career
as nurses. Children with chronic health problems or diseases such as on a pediatric
hematology/oncology unit, require skilled, home based care by parents, supported by professionals.
However, once patients are discharged, it is evident that there is a continuous need for online
resources to help supplement their learning and the professional support they may have received
during discharge. At this time, existing resources consist on patient/parent education at the bedside,
with supplemental handouts to back up the teaching. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dedicated to serving the specialized medical needs of children, from newborns to adolescents,
diagnosed with cancers such as leukemia, brain tumors, and blood related diseases such as hemophilia,
this 33 bed unit often has a full census with patients waiting to get in. They provide support for family
members as well as care for the unique needs of the oncology patient during all phases of their illness,
diagnosis, treatment, education, and when needed, end of life care. Being that it is a pediatric unit,
most of the education is done by the nurses directly to the parents or care givers of the children being
treated. But often times, the care givers are given educational information while under extreme stress,
still trying to process all the new information and quite often, they have not come to terms with their
child s new diagnosis. Other times, the nurse may be in a hurry, or may have other challenges that
factor into the lack of understanding. Some of those contributing factors could include; inadequate
knowledge or training of the clinicians, inconsistencies in quality of care, changes in current practice
guidelines, limited health literacy skills, conflicts with prior training implementation challenges, such
as language barriers, and lastly, inadequate resources for the care givers. It was this last contributing
factor that it was determined a change needed to take

Conflict Between Barbarism and Reason in Lord of the Flies
William Golding s Lord of the Flies is a carefully constructed fable that was, in Golding s words, an
attempt to trace the defects of society back to the defects of human nature. (Grigson 189). The novel
shows a group of English boys reverting to savagery on a Pacific island. The book deals with the
conflict between humanity s inner barbarism on one side, and the civilizing influence of reason on the
other.
Each of the two characters I have chosen to contrast and compare is presented in the novel as the most
influential representative of each of the two sides. Jack, the chief of the hunters, representing the

when Ralph is elected or appointed as the chief, the one who decides things . The reader feels that
Jack s vanity has been hit by the loss.
Ralph counted.
I m the chief then.
The circle of boys broke into applause. Even the choir applauded; and the freckles on Jack s face
disappeared under a mortification.
Even then the relationship and attitudes of the two boys remain almost the same. They both agree on
the need of fire, on the need of shelters and on the need of meat. Nonetheless, one can feel that after
Ralph had been elected for the chief, the Jack s side of reasons and Ralph s common sense start
separating from each other.
At first Jack and his hunters do what they are asked to, but as time goes on, they start to participate in
different activities and neglect those needed for the sake of the boys salvation.
Ralph spoke.
You let the fire out.
Jack checked, vaguely irritated by this irrelevance but too happy to let it worry him.

Structure And Operation Of An Enterprise Architecture
Section 1: Summary
Enterprise Architecture represents a conceptual blueprint that defines the structure and operation of an
organization. The intent of an enterprise architecture is to decide how an organization can most
effectively achieve its current and future goals. Enterprise architecture looks at the current state of the
organization, it helps develop and evaluate current designs and create a sketch for the future.
As business analysts, enterprise architecture represents an input to understand the organizational units
that exist, their interaction with other organizational units, customers and suppliers, their
responsibilities within the organization and the roles and relationships within each organizational unit
[01]. It helps conduct stakeholder analysis, as it helps understand stakeholder influence and attitudes.
In this research paper, we will analyze look at the context of enterprise architecture, the history of
enterprise architecture, and we will look at two popular enterprise architectures, the Zachman
framework and TOGAF.

Young Goodman Brown And A Cask Of Amontillado Analysis
Young Goodman Brown and A Cask of Amontillado both incorporate a gothic theme to the simple yet
intricate plotline they hold. Within the two short stories, irony scatters, adding to the overall grim
theme. Although they use the same 3 types of irony, the authors use them differently and similarly at
the same time. In Young Goodman Brown by Nathaniel Hawthorne and A Cask of Amontillado by
Edgar Allen Poe, there are many examples of situational irony that are used comparably in both texts.
Dramatic irony is the type of irony that informs the reader of a certain fact that one or more characters
in the story may not know. This is quite evident in Young Goodman Brown and A Cask of

This is dramatic irony because the reader knows something that a character, in this case, Fortunato,
doesn t know. Young Goodman Brown and A Cask of Amontillado both use dramatic irony but in very

otherwise serious story, while A Cask of Amontillado uses this type of irony to add to the tension in
the text. Young Goodman Brown by Nathaniel Hawthorne and A Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allen

expectations for an event and the real outcome. Situational irony is most times humorous, and this
witty irony is present in both Young Goodman Brown and A Cask of Amontillado. Hawthorne s work,
Young Goodman Brown, refers to the concept of heaven and hell, specifically the devil. When
Goodman leaves his wife, Faith, to go on a journey, he worries for her. He justifies himself by saying
Well, she s a blessed angel on earth; and after this one night I ll cling to her skirts and follow her to
heaven, (Hawthorne 3). This quote alone has 3 examples of situational irony. First, his wife s name,
Faith, symbolizes how he leaves his town for the devil, and that he is leaving his faith behind.
Secondly, Goodman never truly finds out

Calypso Music History
You ve probably heard the song, Under the sea from the Disney movie, The Little Mermaid . Or,
maybe you ve heard the song Day O , also known as the banana boat song . Well, did you know that
these songs are examples of Calypso music? In this report, I will be explaining, where it came from,
what it is, and facts and information. Calypso music originated in Venezuela, Trinidad, and Tobago
during the start of the 20th century. It was traced back to West African Kaiso and the arrival of the
French planters and their slaves in the 1800s. People think that these songs were introduced during the
French settlement of the island of Trinidad. An African slave named Gros Jean is thought to be the
first Calypsonian, or someone who makes Calypso music. Over the last century Calypso music has
been becoming well known by not only the Carribean, but around the world. 1914 was a huge year for
Calypso music, because this was when the first Calypso recording was made by the Victor

emphasis on the character of Morgaine, otherwise known as Morgan Le
Fay. But who exactly is Morgan and how does she vary in the different accounts of the

The original full retelling of the Arthur story, Monmouth s The History of the
Kings of Britain, has few female characters. Morgan Le Fay is once such decided absence.
Not only does she play no part whatsoever in the legend, but she is never even mentioned.
Mordred, who is often her son by an incestuous relationship with Arthur, is instead the son of Anna
and her husband, Loth, the King of Lothian. Anna is as close as Monmouth gets to a Morgan like
character. She is the sister of Arthur, and daughter of Igraine and Uther.
She gives birth to Mordred, who is the means by which Arthur s death comes about, and
Gawain, one of Arthurs most loyal and trusted knights. Le Morte D Arthur by Malory shows an
entirely different perspective as to the role and person of Morgan Le Fay in the Arthurian legend. She
is one of Arthur s three sisters, the others being Morgause and Elaine. Morgause marries King Lot of
Lothian and has four sons including Gawaine while Elaine marries King Nentis. Arthur has an
incestuous relationship with Morgause and she gives birth to Mordred. Meanwhile
Morgan is continually conspiring against Arthur in an attempt to avenge his father s poor treatment of

Summary Of The Pink Panther
Jeff Koons s Pink Panther is a piece of art that portrays an entertained, bare breasted lady, attired in a
green dress. Her head tilts backward in a posture appearing as if she is talking to people around her.
She is modeled after the former Hollywood star, Jayne Mansfield. Additionally, the Pink Panther, a
famous cartoon character, calmly rests on the left shoulder of Mansfield while wearing a hapless
expression. Both figures were mass market and pop culture knickknacks when the sculpture was
created. The work itself marked a crucial period of transformation in Koons s work and style. His
creations became brighter, bigger, and more startlingly cheerful. Koons surprised the public by his
brief realism and his resoluteness to depict the contemporary social and cultural situation. His work
could be understood as complex perspective on the present time. The image of the couple is
gratifyingly sophomoric. It depicts the lust for an object, which is accompanied by ingenuous
sentimentality. In general, the sculpture pinpoints everything Koons regards erroneous in the modern
American popular culture. Furthermore, the artwork portrays the way how people conduct themselves
in their daily activities and presents their common values and attitude to life. For instance, the
sculpture can be related to the problem of women s rights. Although the lady is utterly sexualized and
objectified, it is done in a vulgar way of a kitsch, which makes a viewer to think about the status of
woman in the modern society. In addition, utilizing recognizable celebrities as a selling point could be
considered a type of self irony and reflection on the contemporary status of art. Finally, the Pink
Panther blurs the difference between an art object and a piece of everyday culture and entertainment.
In this regards, it stands out from other works of postmodernism.

Analysis Of The Poem Peanut Butter Sandwich
Shel Silverstein s poem, Peanut Butter Sandwich, revolves around a king and his insatiatable greed for
a peanut butter sandwich. Slowly, the king succumbs to his favorite food and his jaws become stuck
from the thick peanut butter. The whole town is called and through many different attempts, finally
manages to pull the king s jaws apart. When initially searching for a poem to imitate, I immediately
looked to Silverstein. He is very famous and creates jovial poems which easily bring smiles to readers
everywhere. Silverstein s use of rhymes, tone, and organization all lead to a poem that creates a sense
of nostalgia in the reader, reminding them of happy thoughts of childhood. I chose to imitate Peanut
Butter Sandwich so I could reproduce those feelings in my audience. In Peanut Butter Sandwich,
Silverstein uses a specific rhyming structure to enhance the poem. Throughout the poem, Silverstein
rhymes the last words of each line with the final line to offset the rhyming pattern. This rhyming
structure drives the poem along at a very even pace. The reader is very likely to read this poem at a
consistent speed, with a slight pause before the offset line. Silverstein s word choice also adds to the
rhyming structure. Throughout the poem, Silverstein uses very simple words that are both easy to
rhyme and easy to say. The combination of simple rhymes and the structure of the rhymes create a
poem that bounces at an even pace. The words are fun to say and rhyme, thus

Essay on heroin
Society today has been clouded and somewhat overtaken by social drugs. Wherever you may look, a
drug is being used, whether it is more commonly a cigarette being smoked on the street, or the covert
teens smoking marijuana in secluded areas. In any case, there is not one person who can say drug use
is not prevalent, since society has made it clear through news, music and everyday life. However,
there are certain drugs that seem to be worse than others, and society once again has taught us that
through our laws and restrictions. The worse the drug, the more you pay for having it. Basically, drugs

Heroin, a white powder, was created in 1874, and was sold as a safe substitute for morphine. However,
it was discovered that heroin produced a quick dependency in people. Heroin and other opiates were
made illegal in 1920 as part of the Dangerous Drugs Act. Still today, however, Heroin is illegally
manufactured and imported, largely from the Indian sub continent.
As well as killing pain, moderate doses of pure opioids produce a range of mild effects. They depress
the activity of the nervous system, including such reflexes as coughing, breathing and heart rate. They
also cause widening of the blood vessels, which gives a feeling of warmth and reduces bowel activity,
which causes constipation.
Heroin itself can be taken in three ways, injecting a solution of heroin and water into your vein,
snorting it, or inhaling it. A person will receive maximum effects if they inject it. Basically heroin
makes people feel as if they are in a state of Euphoria for a small amount of time, and cause people to
be drowsy warm and content, which kind of detaches you from pain.
After Heroin is injected or inhaled, it crosses the blood brain barrier, and once in the brain, it is
converted to morphine and will bind with opioid receptors. This transferring is what gives the user
their rush, and the more of the drug, the faster it binds and the stronger the rush. Heroin

The After World War II
Shortly after World War II most of the European powers that had once held dominion over vast
colonies across the globe found their grips on these territories lessened. Even before the end of the
war, some of these colonies decided to begin preparations to seize their own destinies from the hands
of their masters, and become sovereign entities. One of these colonies was the Dutch East Indies,
which was under Dutch control for more than 150 years. The nation that would form from this freed
colony would be Indonesia, and on August 17th 1945 the Indonesian people declared their sovereignty
and independence from Dutch rule. After four long years of fighting and tense negotiations, the Dutch
finally recognized Indonesian independence at the end of 1949. The President of this new fledgling
nation was a man by the name of Achmad Sukarno, and he would lead this nation through its
revolution in 1945 up until 1967 when he was forced to resign. His reign was one of founding, which
demeaned the idea of parliamentary democracy as inappropriate for the Indonesian people, and so he
adopted a policy known as Guided democracy, a type of autocratic rule. But due to the diversity of
both the people and radical differences of political parties within this new weak state and the uneven
representation of political factions, this governmental system was doomed to fail. The instability of

Rembrandt s Christ In The Storm On The Sea Of Galilee
A painting captures a single moment. Most of the time, the audience does not see what happens before
and after the moment of the piece, but Rembrandt s Christ in the Storm on the Sea of Galilee is his
depiction of Mark 4:35:39, a story that most children learn in Sunday School. Mark 4:35 36 tells the
moments before the storm: On that day, when evening had come, He told them, Let s cross over to the
other side of the sea. So they left the crowd and took Him along since He was already in the boat. And
other boats were with Him (The Bible). Rembrandt fabricates the scene of verse 37 and 38: A fierce

the boat from being destroyed and overtaken. By looking at the picture, the storm has cause one of the
riggings to break free from the boat and tore the sail, not standing a chance against the strong winds
the storm is throwing at them. Also, the dark colors of the overcast prevent the disciples from being
able to see the shores. There is no place for the disciples to dock the boat until the storm passes by,
stuck in the middle of the storm Comparing the painting to life s challenges, people can often be
broken emotionally or physically, whether it may be a death of a loved one or having to face a
terminal illness. They can feel as if, like the disciples, all alone with nowhere to escape to safety.
Whatever situation one may face, it can be overpowering and seems as if there is no hope in

1.1 Explain The Importance Of Assessment In Research
It is important to identify needs early and seek consent, before you do a common assessment you
should check who else is working with the child or young person. You should also check whether a
common assessment already exists. This will be assisted by the introduction of contact point, which
will indicate whether a Child Assessment Framework exists for a child or young person and the
contact details for the practitioner who holds the CAF or who acts as lead professional (Contact point
will only hold records for children and young people from birth to their 18th birthday. It will not hold
records of unborn babies). If an assessment exists and/or other practitioners are working with the child
or young person, with the consent of the child or young ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As well as observing children and noticing what they are doing, there are some simple methods you
can use to record what you are seeing such as structured recording, tick charts and checklists. A
structured recording involves looking out for particular skills or behaviour that children show. Many
settings do this by using checklists or tick charts. There are many advantages to using checklists and
tick charts. They are easy and quick to use and they can be repeated on the same child at a later date to
see if the child has gained further skills. This means that progress can be mapped. The main
disadvantage of this method is that it is quite narrow as it focuses the observer on looking only for the
skills that are on the checklist or tick chart. A holistic assessment will help the family, school, nursery,
teachers and health practitioners to see what the child that is being accessed can do and how they can
be supported to develop further. A holistic assessment addresses the main areas that impact children
and young people s potential to achieve these outcomes: Be

Claire and her friends realized this throughout the novel and had each other to rely on and share
common ground with. Life is not always going to go the way you want it to, but with the help of
friends and family, it will surely turn around. Accidental pregnancies, unexpected relationships,
random murders and heartbreaks were all parts of the four girls struggles and they were there for
eachother through every twist and turn.
The author s point throughout the book was that though life can be crazy good or bad, one can handle
anything in good company. This message was reoccurring in multiple parts of the novel, like when
Claire becomes successful because of her support and love from her mom and friends. It is something
that can be taken away as a life lesson to surround yourself with good family and friends. She wants
the reader to learn from her book through her characters actions and words and it is a very clearly
stated message that friends and family make everything better and they always have your

How Do Stereotypes Affect Children
create other issues such as sexism and racism. This can be harmful to many individuals in society.
Labels are attached to a person about how a person should act or live according to their sex, race,
personality, and other facts. This could affect individuals who perhaps like different things or do
different activities. But they would feel ashamed of doing so because of stereotypes. Stereotypes like
all men like sports or women are not as strong as men, are the most common in our society today.
Stereotypes have created a bias of how every individual should be. Finally, it is part of human nature.

This makes things easier, but it has a lot of downsides. It is often created as social barriers and hatred.
Again, according to the article, Long term Effects of Stereotyping it says, Stereotypes are creating
problems in kids. These problems can affect children in many ways. This problem is creating
confusion in kids because they are growing up thinking that they should be one way because society
thinks that s the ideal. Stereotypes also are creating a false idea of how they interact with other
individuals. Many of the stereotypes the children receive are through media. We can t change this
because is the way our society works, but we can teach our children to value other people for what
they are, not what they appear to be. ( Jorge Robles). This basically explains that it is important to
teach children to respect each other no matter of their sex, sexual orientation, race, culture, religion,
and more. It is important to advise them these values because they are the future of the society. This
also shows how stereotypes are inevitable because it shows nature s pattern and how it is constantly

The Presentation of Isolation in Jane Eyre and the Wide...
Isolation in Jane Eyre and the Wide Sargasso Sea. The theme of isolation is explored in Bronte s
novel; Jane Eyre. This theme is also developed in The Wide Sargasso Sea, by Jean Rhys. Both pieces
present different types of isolation, such as isolation due to location and the isolation of a character
due to their social status, such as Jane s status as a governess. The various ways in which isolation is
present in each of the texts show how inescapable and unavoidable isolation is for the characters in
both Jane Eyre and The Wide Sargasso, with it being present in such a large way in their lives.
Physical isolation is present in both texts, with Jane in Jane Eyre and Antoinette in the Wide Sargasso
Sea experiencing absolute isolation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It also presents the idea that the separation her family experiences is potentially dangerous.
Evidence of isolation due to a characters place, or position, in society can be found in both novels.
Bronte demonstrates the isolation Jane inflicts upon herself, coming as a result of her awareness of her
place in society, in the Chapter 17 of Jane Eyre, which tells of Mr Rochester s return from his
unexpected departure to Gateshead hall, accompanied by numerous guests enjoying a social stay,
comprising mainly of games and dinners. Jane intentionally separates herself from Mr Rochester s
prestigious guests as they gather in the study after dinner. After firstly declining her master s request
for her company, anticipating the isolation she will face, stemming from her inferiority in her class,
she then goes on to separate herself. Bronte uses the first person narrative to reveal Jane s feelings,
such as in the narrative I sit in the shade if any shade there be in this brilliantly lit apartments; the
window curtain half hides me . This demonstrates Jane s need to physically isolate herself from the
party, attempting to not only isolate herself from their conversation with a book, but furthermore their
presence, trying to hide. This also indicates her vulnerability, which contrasting with the confidence of
the other women. This isolates her further. By saying half hides me her reservations are highlighted,

Infection Cards Difficulty
Comorbidity mode: For an extra level of difficulty to pandemic would be to remove the card limit but
for every card after 7 at the end of your turn, you must draw an extra infection card. So, if you have 9
cards you would draw 2 infection cards. The meaning of this allows for more of a chance to get the
cards you need to cure a disease but also allows for more of a chance to spread infection faster. So,
every time a player draws a card past 7 they will be given the choice to discard or draw infection
cards. Another step for this game mode is, for every time you discard you will add the bottom
discarded infection card to the middle of the infection pile. This will add another layer of difficulty

The Spread Of Christianity Analysis
Introduction
As one of the largest religions in the world, Christianity played a prominent role in shaping western
civilization in the late Roman and early medieval periods. It is generally known that the development
of any religion is not smooth or through a single channel. Based on the case of Christianity, from its
establishment in the mid first century until the early fourth century, it was persecuted for three
hundred years. Despite this, the conversion eventually happened at different times in different regions
of Europe. In 313, the so called Edict of Milan was issued to mark when Constantine (306 337), the
emperor of the Western Roman Empire, recognized Christianity s legitimacy and then in 392,

households and businesses with multiple users at one time which requires extremely high speed

Virgin Media creating value for customers:
In March 2011, Virgin Media announced the release of it s TiVo Box which would revolutionize the

Medieval Vs. Medieval Era
The Medieval, or Middle, Ages in Europe have often been called the Dark Ages, since they seem to
have been lacking in many ways. However, the Church was always shining the light of the Gospel in
even the darkest of places. In the very bosom of this doomed society, a power remained which was
capable of giving meaning to the drama, of bringing order out of disorder, of integrating the
Barbarians into civilization and of using their youthful energies to restore the world to vigor and
health. This power, to which the West owes its salvation, was the Church.1 Medieval Europe was, in
many ways, more Christian then, than it is now. The Medieval era can be divided into three parts: the
Early Ages, the High Ages, and the Late Ages. Each had its own achievements, shortcomings, and
beliefs, but they are all inextricably linked. Though the Middle Ages have been called Dark, they
always had the light of the Church shining in them.
The Early Ages started in 476 A.D. with the fall of Rome to barbarian tribes. The Popes from that time
on had to run everything themselves, due to a lack of support from Byzantium, the eastern part of the
empire. Severed from Byzantium, and with Rome in the hands of the Barbarians, the West had only
itself on whom it could rely.2 The countries of Europe now began to heal from the inside out. Ireland
started this with saints such as Patrick, Brigit, and Columbanus, who spread new ideas of Christianity,
such as private penance, throughout Europe.

Types Of Radiation That Can Bring About Occupational Exposure
There are three types of radiation that can bring about occupational exposure. Alpha radiation can be
stopped by something as thin as a piece of paper or one s hand (BBC, 2014). Those at risk for this
exposure are those who install and maintain smoke detectors, which use Americium 241. In this
mechanism, an electron current interrupts smoke particles, causing the alarm to trigger when it senses
smoke (Bennett, 2017). Radium 226, which is an element that is injected into tumors to battle cancer,
can affect radiology technicians and physicians that must come in close contact (Bennett, 2017).
Plutonium 238, which no longer used, was used as batteries for pacemakers, leaving surgery personnel
vulnerable to its effects (Bennett, 2017). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ability to pass more than paper allows it to measure thickness of substances such as plastic and paint
in manufacturing processes (Judge, 2017). Another, more commonly identified source of beta
radiation is a sunburn, leaving anyone working in the sun, including construction and landscaping
workers (Ward, 2017). Covering potentially exposed area with a protective garment is the best way for
either medical workers or those who work outside to guard themselves from exposure.
Gamma radiation can only be stopped by thick materials, concrete and lead (BBC, 2014). This type of
radiation is mostly used in the medical setting, treating cancer, and used in the sterilization of
equipment used in medical settings (BBC, 2014). Radiation used in sterilization of equipment can pass
through plastic, rubber, and kill bacteria and viruses (BBC, 2014). Tracers are either eaten or injected.
They show where the tracer has built up in body, indicating abnormal areas, possibly cancer or tumors
(BBC, 2014). This leaves medical workers being at risk for exposure to these rays, which can lead to
genetic mutations long term. Lead aprons and barrier walls would be the best route to mitigate these
types of rays, since they cannot be avoided by these workers.

  • 5. Coming Back to Cultural Imperialism Coming back to Cultural Imperialism. We would like to start with the most rudimentary questions. What is culture. Why do we need to talk about it. What does Imperialism have to do with culture. And what is Cultural Imperialism. When Steger talks about the cultural dimension of globalization, he uses the words symbolic construction, articulation, and dissemination of meaning (90). Culture can define an individual, a group, a society, a nation or even the globe. Humans are social beings and since pre historic times humans have been inquisitive and have embarked upon journeys to find new civilization. Today we are looking for life on other planets. When a person interacts with another, the first judgment he makes is about his nature. Similarly when we find ourselves in a new atmosphere, a new culture, the first few things we pick up are the culture not the economic status or the political scenario. It could be as simple as a greeting in the native language, or knowledge about the local cuisine, clothes or traditions. We all know that Vasco Da Gama brought along spices from his visit to India. What intrigues us so much, must be of huge importance. Culture exists in the form of ideas, language, identity, images and everything the human mind can perceive. Cultural is the inherent reactions, the way we behave socially, what we believe in and what makes us stand apart or defines us as a group. An interesting term at the heart of our discussion is cultural products . According to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Summary Of The Pink Panther Jeff Koons s Pink Panther is a piece of art that portrays an entertained, bare breasted lady, attired in a green dress. Her head tilts backward in a posture appearing as if she is talking to people around her. She is modeled after the former Hollywood star, Jayne Mansfield. Additionally, the Pink Panther, a famous cartoon character, calmly rests on the left shoulder of Mansfield while wearing a hapless expression. Both figures were mass market and pop culture knickknacks when the sculpture was created. The work itself marked a crucial period of transformation in Koons s work and style. His creations became brighter, bigger, and more startlingly cheerful. Koons surprised the public by his brief realism and his resoluteness to depict the contemporary social and cultural situation. His work could be understood as complex perspective on the present time. The image of the couple is gratifyingly sophomoric. It depicts the lust for an object, which is accompanied by ingenuous sentimentality. In general, the sculpture pinpoints everything Koons regards erroneous in the modern American popular culture. Furthermore, the artwork portrays the way how people conduct themselves in their daily activities and presents their common values and attitude to life. For instance, the sculpture can be related to the problem of women s rights. Although the lady is utterly sexualized and objectified, it is done in a vulgar way of a kitsch, which makes a viewer to think about the status of woman in the modern society. In addition, utilizing recognizable celebrities as a selling point could be considered a type of self irony and reflection on the contemporary status of art. Finally, the Pink Panther blurs the difference between an art object and a piece of everyday culture and entertainment. In this regards, it stands out from other works of postmodernism. • 25. How Do Stereotypes Affect Children create other issues such as sexism and racism. This can be harmful to many individuals in society. Labels are attached to a person about how a person should act or live according to their sex, race, personality, and other facts. This could affect individuals who perhaps like different things or do different activities. But they would feel ashamed of doing so because of stereotypes. Stereotypes like all men like sports or women are not as strong as men, are the most common in our society today. Stereotypes have created a bias of how every individual should be. Again, according to the article, Long term Effects of Stereotyping it says, Stereotypes are creating problems in kids. These problems can affect children in many ways. This problem is creating confusion in kids because they are growing up thinking that they should be one way because society thinks that s the ideal. Stereotypes also are creating a false idea of how they interact with other individuals. Many of the stereotypes the children receive are through media. We can t change this because is the way our society works, but we can teach our children to value other people for what they are, not what they appear to be. ( Jorge Robles). This basically explains that it is important to teach children to respect each other no matter of their sex, sexual orientation, race, culture, religion, and more. It is important to advise them these values because they are the future of the society. This theme is also developed in The Wide Sargasso Sea, by Jean Rhys. Both pieces present different types of isolation, such as isolation due to location and the isolation of a character due to their social status, such as Jane s status as a governess. The various ways in which isolation is present in each of the texts show how inescapable and unavoidable isolation is for the characters in both Jane Eyre and The Wide Sargasso, with it being present in such a large way in their lives. Physical isolation is present in both texts, with Jane in Jane Eyre and Antoinette in the Wide Sargasso Sea experiencing absolute isolation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It also presents the idea that the separation her family experiences is potentially dangerous. Evidence of isolation due to a characters place, or position, in society can be found in both novels. Bronte demonstrates the isolation Jane inflicts upon herself, coming as a result of her awareness of her place in society, in the Chapter 17 of Jane Eyre, which tells of Mr Rochester s return from his unexpected departure to Gateshead hall, accompanied by numerous guests enjoying a social stay, comprising mainly of games and dinners. Jane intentionally separates herself from Mr Rochester s prestigious guests as they gather in the study after dinner. After firstly declining her master s request for her company, anticipating the isolation she will face, stemming from her inferiority in her class, she then goes on to separate herself. Bronte uses the first person narrative to reveal Jane s feelings, such as in the narrative I sit in the shade if any shade there be in this brilliantly lit apartments; the window curtain half hides me . This demonstrates Jane s need to physically isolate herself from the party, attempting to not only isolate herself from their conversation with a book, but furthermore their presence, trying to hide. This also indicates her vulnerability, which contrasting with the confidence of the other women. This isolates her further. By saying half hides me her reservations are highlighted, ... • 38. Medieval Vs. Medieval Era The Medieval, or Middle, Ages in Europe have often been called the Dark Ages, since they seem to have been lacking in many ways. However, the Church was always shining the light of the Gospel in even the darkest of places. In the very bosom of this doomed society, a power remained which was capable of giving meaning to the drama, of bringing order out of disorder, of integrating the Barbarians into civilization and of using their youthful energies to restore the world to vigor and health. This power, to which the West owes its salvation, was the Church.1 Medieval Europe was, in many ways, more Christian then, than it is now. The Medieval era can be divided into three parts: the Early Ages, the High Ages, and the Late Ages. Each had its own achievements, shortcomings, and beliefs, but they are all inextricably linked. Though the Middle Ages have been called Dark, they always had the light of the Church shining in them. The Early Ages started in 476 A.D. with the fall of Rome to barbarian tribes. The Popes from that time on had to run everything themselves, due to a lack of support from Byzantium, the eastern part of the empire. Severed from Byzantium, and with Rome in the hands of the Barbarians, the West had only itself on whom it could rely.2 The countries of Europe now began to heal from the inside out. Ireland started this with saints such as Patrick, Brigit, and Columbanus, who spread new ideas of Christianity, such as private penance, throughout Europe. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Those at risk for this exposure are those who install and maintain smoke detectors, which use Americium 241. In this mechanism, an electron current interrupts smoke particles, causing the alarm to trigger when it senses smoke (Bennett, 2017). Radium 226, which is an element that is injected into tumors to battle cancer, can affect radiology technicians and physicians that must come in close contact (Bennett, 2017). Covering potentially exposed area with a protective garment is the best way for either medical workers or those who work outside to guard themselves from exposure. Gamma radiation can only be stopped by thick materials, concrete and lead (BBC, 2014).
