Initial Plans

Initial Reaction
- I was thinking of making a magazine about movies, probably about the top
movies from 2019. I’m a big fan of movies and I find it easy to write about
them compared to other magazines that are about fashion, lifestyle and
travel.
- I also think more people now buy magazines about movies now that the
movie industry is as big as it is, and the amount of movies that have come
out already will be easy to write.
- I was also thinking about having one big feature on the front cover of my
magazine to show that it would be the main topic of the magazine and
behind I was thinking of including different other features that could be
featured in my magazine.

Mood Board Analysis
Is there any repetition in the images you have collected? Repeated
colours/images styles/fonts/tone/mood
- Most of the pictures I’ve collected, they’ve got some kind of golden colour to them, some of them
have a dark background but it contrasts with light that is given off from the central image, most of
the pictures look like they’re glowing.
- Most of the movie posters I’ve selected are quite similar as well, the way they’re layed out, they
have all the central characters in the middle and the colours they’ve made match the tone and
theme of the movie.
- The fonts they used as well is styled in the theme of the movies such as the knives out poster it has
a magnifying glass there to indicate that the movie is about a mystery and solving something.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
- Looking at my mood board has given me an idea of the type of colour tone I want to include on my
front cover, I know I want my Title of my magazine to glow like most of the pictures on the mood
board and I want to have a go at personalising the title just like they’ve done in the movie poster.
- The background I want to be dark, because I want it to contrast the glow of my central image and
title like it does with the pictures I’ve chosen for my mood board. I want my cover to be exciting and
engaging to look at as well so I’ll try and make look as enticing as possible just like the movie posters.
