2. Initial Reaction
• I think this is a good opportunity to use my creative skills in Photoshop and plan out
different ideas on film genres for what I want to add to my magazine. I also think it
will help me experiment with what images of my own work best, and gives me an
opportunity to be creative with the covers.
• I still have creative control over topics that already exist, for example if I were to do a
magazine on an existing film, then I can take / create my own images related to that
film and add them to my magazine.
• I am also given full creative research control, so I can decide what I want my
magazine to be about, as well as finding the right genre / topic to be the main focus.
• I am good at editing photos on Photoshop from years of experience, so I believe I
will have an advantage when creating the cover arts as I am well aware and use to
the software.
• If I am to make a magazine based on a film I personally like, I can take my own
pictures using material that I have at home that is from that specific film.
• Researching could be a bit of a challenge, as I will have to make sure all of the
sources I am reading from gives legitimate statistics and factual points so I can add
them to my magazine.

Is there any repetition in the images you have collected?
Repeated colours/images styles/fonts/tone/mood
• There are very similar colour patterns within a lot of the images I have
chosen. The character ‘Joker’, is mostly associated with the colours green
and red, which helps create iconism, bringing in fans and audiences of the
Batman films and the Joker character. All of the images with the Joker
character showcase him in a close up shot, and have a level of suspense to
them with some image trickery.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
• I am going to use a lot of Photography techniques that are seen in my
moodboard, more specifically one big close up image that is the main
focus point of the whole front cover. I am also going to be using a very
similar, if not the same colour pallet / theme seen in my moodboard, with
green being the main colour.
