Balfour s Influence On The British Army

the British Empire with oil, a natural resource that she had shortage of. Balfour asserted I do not
care under what system we keep the oil, whether it is by a perpetual lease or whatever it may be,
but I am quite clear it is all important for us that this oil should be available. LIoyd George for his
part favoured a military occupation of Mosul Wilayat before the end of the war. Even after the
war, securing the future oil supplies was an economic objective that Great Britain desired in her

culturally shared meaning (Walker and Avant, 2005 as cited by Peterson and Bredow, 2009) or are
those that are introduced as new in the theory (Meleis, 1997 as cited by Peterson and Bredow,

The researchers recommended that the medical members, having now recognized the problem,
make available specific teaching sessions on the likelihood of harassment, its prevention, and
the need for protection, the experience would be validated and depersonalized, and female
doctors would be helped to overcome their vulnerability. The opportunity to view sexual
harassment as an abuse of power, rather than an incident provoked by a victim s inappropriate
dress or comments, may clarify the confusion felt by respondents over the causes of harassment
and their responses to it (Phillips and Schneider, 1993). In my own personal opinion, the
researchers recommendations focusing on the development of self awareness by implementing
either one on one or group sessions is an effective way of providing, not only the female
physicians but all women in general, an idea of how to detect and prevent impending sexually
motivated advances and how to recover for those who already are victims of it. These
recommendations however failed to specify any possible legal recourse should a victim opt for it.
Recommendations would cover a broader scope of applicability if it included all the legal aspects
accompanying the issue which is exactly what another study suggested. This study, done by

Executive Compensation Essay
Accounting Theory Assignment
Executive Compensation
[pic]
Introduction
Executive compensation together with corporate governance systems has received an increasing
amount of attention from the press, corporations, financial academics and also the government. An
executive compensation plan is a major application of the agency theory study and, thus, an agency
contract between the shareholders and CEO s of the business, which attempt to align the interests
of the owners and the managers by basing the CEO s or executive s compensation on some
performance measure of the managers expended effort in operating the organization. Over the last
decade scandals such as the Enron and WorldCom have raised many issues and discussion as...

The sensitivity of a compensation plan to net income can be achieved by moving to a current value
accounting system, thereby reducing recognition lag. This will result in more payoffs from the
manager s effort in the current period. However current value accounting reduces the precision of
the information, which means there is less importance for net income in compensation.
On the other hand, share price is more sensitive that net income sooner to certain events such as
acquisitions and mergers or R D. This sensitivity makes share price a better device for calculating
compensation. Share price however is not as precise as net income since it can be affected by
events such as changes in the economy s interest rates or terrorist attacks that has nothing to do with
manager effort.
An alternative approach to increasing sensitivity in net income is to ensure full disclosure,
especially concerning unusual and non recurring items. Full disclosure makes it more difficult for
managers to shirk by choice of accounting policies and enables the committee to evaluate manager
effort and ability as well as earnings persistence.
Persistent earnings are a more sensitive measure of current manager effort then price irrelevant
earnings, which may arise independently of effort. Compensation committees tend to value
persistent earnings when they are setting manager compensation.
The compensation committee can adjust the relative proportions of the net income based and share

Manage Finances Within A Budget
Submitted by: Nico Antonio A. SerafinSubmitted to: Ma am Lorejen Salise
Based on the variance/diversion report of the TAFE Island Holiday Resort, me and my business
partner have interpreted the figures listed in the report and have offered remedies to improve their
budget performance.
This is their income report:

TAFE Restaurant$233,278$205,000$ 28,278
TAFE Bar$ 36,500$ 51,300$ (14,800)

In the Cost of Goods Sold area, the variance is $2,000. Here, they should rethink their strategy in
their budget. They should make sure that their budget is enough to cover the actual expense of their
products and have more budget in the next order.
In the Electricity section, they should consider using energy saving materials for their resort. Not
only they can save in electricity, they can also save in their income.
In concern with their repairs, they can save more buy using durable equipment and materials to
reduce repair costs and should have maintenance every day to make sure that damages can be
reduced, therefor reducing the cost of repairs.
Administration Costs, here the budget should be a little higher than $2,250. It should be at least
$3,000 or more but not too high. Administration should be able to use the budget efficiently.
Responsibility centers are recommended in this matter to further help the resort in budgetary
controls.
Wages in Catering and Beverages have no need for improvement, it is in a good state and is with
balance with income and expenses just make sure that the service is good enough to equal the
wages to the staff.
In the Advertising section, the budget is ok and in the actual, you can use it in making new

ABSTRACT This paper proposes a new real and reactive power coordination controller for a
unified power flow controller (UPFC). The basic control for the UPFC is such that the series
converter of the UPFC controls the transmission line near the micro grid real/reactive power
flow and the shunt converter of the UPFC controls the UPFC bus voltage/shunt reactive power
and the DC link capacitor voltage. In steady state, the real power demand of the series converter
is supplied by the shunt converter of the UPFC. To avoid instability/loss of DC link capacitor
voltage during transient conditions, a new real power coordination controller has been designed. A
new PSO based reactive power coordination controller has been designed to limit excessive voltage
excursions during reactive power transfers. Matlab simulation results have been presented to show
the improvement in the performance of the UPFC control with the proposed real power and reactive

Prison Reform Research Paper
Nowadays , almost all of the criminals are sent to prison , but I think that is not a good way for
punishment of prisoners , and I think sent them to special school is better than sent them to prison .
The main purpose and function as the prison system are to reform the criminals , and it is proved
that the existing prison system in many countries has no way to achieve this goal . When the
criminals are locked up , they will be asked to be locked up with the rest of the criminal . Maybe
a criminal just made some small mistakes , and when he was put in prison , he would be
influenced by others . While others may be felons, made a serious crime . Therefore , the offender
may be affected by other people , after his release from prison , not only on their own behavior
without any conscious awareness , but there may be a more serious crime . Obviously , the prison
did not play a role in the transformation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is a need to analyze the real cause of the crime . There are two main reasons : first , the
most criminals are criminals because they have not received a good education , so their legal
consciousness is very weak . Many people will think that they do not have anything wrong , and
did not touch the bottom line of the law . Secondly , because they have not received a good
education , . So they do not have any professional skills and to feed their skills . So , in order to
survive , they can only rely on the way to solve these crimes . When have they released from
prison , they still face the same problem . Because they still don t have any survival skills , they
still can t find a good job . And , worse , their experience in prison will be a stain on their lives ,
which makes it harder for them to find the right job . Therefore , education and training are
relatively better choice . Criminals can learn a lot of professional knowledge and skills , so that
they have a meal later on the cost of

I think that animal testing is a cruel and inhuman thing...
I think that animal testing is a cruel and inhuman thing to do especially if you are hurting the
animal on purpose. Even though animals don t have rights you should still not abuse them by
burning them, pulling their eyes out, or just beating them. Did you know that over hundred million
animals are abused in U.S. labs every year? Imagine if you were in the animals place how would
you feel, would you try to do something about it?
Animals are used to test on for things like medical studies, cosmetic testing, and behavioral studies.
Animal testing first started in early Greek in the 2nd and 4th centuries BCE.
Some famous researchers from the early ages who tested on animals are people like Abenzoar, an
arab physician and Moorish Spain who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And only about 36 percent that are in pain are given anesthesia to help relieve the the pain, so
that means that the other 64 percent of animals are are in pain. I think that rules for animal
testing should be strict so that not every year 100 million animals are in pain, suffering, or
slowly dying because of us humans. There are many different things we can use instead of testing
on animals and killing them like for example we can use human cells or we can use dead humans
but the person being researched on has to know and be okay with it just like a donor. Most of the
test that are tested on are for cosmetic testing, toxicology testing, drug testing, biomedical research,
and also for educational reasons. And most the animals that get tested on usually the drugs work on
them but end up not working on humans, another reason why animal testing is bad. Rabbits get
tested on for contact lenses and after researchers have put the lenses in the rabbits the take lenses
out and take the rabbit s eye out.
Humans have rights and animals are pretty similar to humans so why shouldn t animals have
rights. Animal testing laws should be more strict so not a lot of animals end up dying. Animals
are an important part of this world, and if we don t take good care of them and keep on killing
them, then what are researchers going to do. Just like if you take out an animal out of a food chain
then the whole entire food chain gets affected, if we take out animals

Fetal Tissue Research Paper
A Shot of Fetal Tissue Many young children are vaccinated every day, but do you know what is
in vaccines? Almost all vaccines have one ingredient in common: cells from aborted baby fetuses.
The medical community needs to realize it is not appropriate to use fetus cells in vaccines for
many reasons. Some wonder how the cells are even used in vaccines. There are two specific cells
used in vaccines (depending on what the vaccineis for). WI 38 and MRC 5 are the two types. WI 38
was first discovered in 1964 when many pregnant women with Rubella were advised to abort
their babies. It was found that the cell must be taken from the kidney of a three month old female
fetus to be used in vaccines. A MRC 5 is taken from the lung of a male fetus... Show more content

Because almost all vaccines use fetus cells in vaccinations, many people choose not to vaccinate
their children, because the use of the aborted cells in the vaccine is against their religion. By not
using fetus cells in immunizations, it would resolve a large portion of the conscientious
objectors ( Cultural Perspectives on Vaccination , par. 7). If fetus cells were removed, it would
give more people the opportunity to be vaccinated, because it would no longer be against their
religious belief. If more of the population was vaccinated, it would help to stop the spread of
diseases such as the measles. In 2005, a teenager went on a trip overseas and returned home. The
teen got a disease, because they had not been vaccinated due to their religious beliefs. Much of
their community had also not been vaccinated for the same reason, and because of this, a major
outbreak occurred ( Cultural Perspectives on Vaccination , par. 9). The use of the aborted cells in
the vaccine disallowed this community to be vaccinated; if fetus cells had not been used in the
immunization, everyone in the community would have been

Ted Bunning Black Holes
My topic that I ve searched is black holes, and I ve done previous projects and conducted
multiple research tasks of this subject. What I have researched on black holes basically covers,
how they are made, what they do, how they die, and the effects they can have on parts of the
universe. I do not claim to be an expert, but my knowledge over black holes could be considered
extensive. For this assignment I did not learn anything new or discover any new theories over
black holes. My research process was not completely taxing or difficult, I simply revisited
websites, books, scholarly journals that I ve searched before, but I did have to search completely
new sources and change my approach a bit. the citation style I used was MLA.

how the experience would be if someone were to enter the gravitational pull of one. Additionally, he

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Crowdsourcing
Crowdsourcing is the acquisition of public services in order to contribute to a particular cause. It
thrives on an interesting blend of marketing and public rallying to create business from the
wisdom of the crowd. Since computers have the capacity and prominence to replace and
represent the collections and creations of information, more general purpose crowdsourcing
projects (such as Wikipedia) have become hugely successful. But it can also be utilized to
promote niche interests. An article I ve read, presented by the BBC news, has reported on an
odd project in which playing a video game is supposed to make the world a safer place. In order
to understand how this could possibly be, context must be provided. To be fair, the project is only
in experimental stages.
Security in information technology is obviously a huge issue. Systems created by imperfect
humans can be breached. But there is such a thing as formal verification in which source code
could be tested and proven 100% free from security vulnerabilities. The certainty of this would
be on par with a solid and correct mathematical proof. But performing this duty requires an
extremely rare degree of experience and skill from a software engineer: every aspect of any
source code must be recoded and tested along with every single possibility of input to every
method (or coding function). As the BBC article states, not many people are capable of pulling this
off, and it s also expensive and time consuming. And

Semiotics In Politics Essay
We are a society that thrives upon communication, from texting to tweeting and all forms in
between. It is not surprising that we often find ourselves drawn in and influenced by the
manipulative skills of well organized syllables and strong punctuation. Political rallies are in no
shortage of examples of the prowess of semiotics. We use them to speak our minds, to spread the
truth, to satirize other s opinions, and to fabricate our own. As human beings we are not unused to
the idea that politics often involves tricky rhetoric and verbal wordplay in efforts to persuade us.
However, not often are we aware that tangible signs sway us to much the same effect. Political
signs first and foremost seek to influence a decision, or ideals that... Show more content on

Semiotics influences signs by modifying the way we see them when certain aspects are changed
or enhanced to convey or evoke certain meanings or feelings, when words are italicized or bolded
our eyes immediately focus more on them than the other words, when messages are presented to us
in strange or noticeable fonts we are drawn to them, they stick in our minds, they make a certain
impact. As Ferdinand de Saussure stated and is quoted on a University of Vermont educational
website, All signs have two aspects: the signifier and the signified. The signifier is any material
thing that signifies, e.g., words on a page, a facial expression, a picture, a bit of graffiti. The
signified is the concept that a signifier refers to. In most cases the signified is in relation to the
signifier in order to ensure the signified is able to relate to it s signifier. I/e, men smoking looking
as though they are enjoying themselves, the signifier is the man smoking the cigarette, and the
man, and the cigarette, seeking to signify men or masculinity (Saussure p.2). The same is applied
to political signs, in relation the creator of the sign seeks to put emphasis on something that they
wish the audience to connect the main idea of their sign too. For example at The Rally to Restore
Sanity and/or Fear, many protestors utilize symbols in order to connect their beliefs or ideas to a
grander concept. In one protestors sign, a

Argumentative Essay On Autism
Giving a speech in front of classmates. Hugging a best friend after a rough day. Changing up the
daily routine at school. These are a few examples of activities most Autistic children consider as
their worst nightmare. Even though a child with Autism could be, and probably is, brilliant, they
find themselves trapped inside. The Autistic Spectrum Disorder, universally known as Autism, is a
disease that causes a child to face mental, physical, and emotional challenges.
A wealth of new brain research is lifting the veil on Autism and revealing its effects on a child`s
mind (Cray and Wallis 43). Neuroscientist Eric Courchesne at Children`s Hospital of San Diego
revealed that while children with autism are born with ordinary size brains, they experience a
rapid expansion by age two (Cray and Wallis 45). Much of this growth is due to the excessive
amount of white matter, the nerve fibers that link different areas of the brain. The abundance of
white matter has led doctors to believe Autism to be a problem with the way the brain is wired.
Marcel Just, director of Carnegie Mellon`s Center for Cognitive Brain Imaging in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, wrote that there is a lack of synchronization between the different areas of the brain
(Cray and Wallis 46). Local areas of the brain, such as the frontal lobes and the amygdala, are over
connected while links between more distant regions, such as the right and left hemispheres, are
poorly connected. One area of the Autistic brain that is enlarged is the amygdala. The amygdala`s
job is to assess threats in the environment or in emotional and social behavior. It could be enlarged
due to the fact that autistic children maintain a high level of anxiety when having to relate to other
people. Another enlarged area of the autistic brain is the hippocampus, an area vital to memory.
Doctors believe the hippocampus is enlarged because an autistic child relies on memory to process
and interpret situations that most people interpret in a different area of the brain. Researchers have
also discovered that autistic brains have chronic inflammation. Amidst these issues Autistic people
have learned to adapt and use their brains in unusual ways. For example, they memorize the
alphabet in

Jesus Identity
The identity of Jesus
1 Corinthians 3:2 I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it.
Understanding the true nature and identity of Jesus is a process, a journey, a lifelong commitment.
It cannot be proclaimed cold turkey just straight out of the blue.
Martin Kahler in a famous aphorism claimed that Mark is a passion narrative with an extended
introduction. However it is a necessary introduction. It is the milk before the solid food. If Mark
had began with Peter s declaration at chapter 8 it would ring hollow. The first eight chapters allow
us to see, as Peter saw, through Jesus teaching, healing, exorcisms, and preaching that there was
something much more than an amazing authoritative, divine man. These introductory

Impact On Pop Culture
Pop culture is defined as a reflection of a mass population and their common likings. People tend
to have similar likings based on their generations, those likings are considered part of pop culture.
There are numerous amounts of studies that represent the effects of pop culture on specific groups
of people. Through an economical standpoint, it can be noted how pop culturedirectly influences the
way that an individual views themselves. Celebrity endorsement, the reflection of the economy on
pop culture, and the effects that pop culture has in consumption in other countries all independently
affect an individual. When an individual is impacted by pop culture, they tend to perceive

Pop music is a reflection of an individual and that reflection coexists with the changes of the
economy. This study helps one understand how pop music and pop culture itself affects the
consumer and how an individual spends their money. Due to the reflection of music on the
economy, individuals reflect their purchases based on the music that they are currently listening to.
With the interchangeable change of the economy and music, individuals identities are changing
drastically because music changes the individual s mood and moralities while the change of the
economy is causing the person s income affect their purchases and later explained, their attitude

Socratic Ignorance Essay
1.What is Socratic ignorance?
Socrates discovered the concept of ignorance after an oracle spoke to one of his friends stating,
no one is wiser than Socrates (Soccio 103). To dispute the Oracle, Socrates went off in search
and discovered that many lacked wisdom (politicians and poets) and some, such as craftsmen, had
knowledge related to their craft, but also believed that they knew more than they really did. With
this discovery, Socrates stated that it was wiser to be aware that one does not know all opposed to
pretending that one knows more than they really do. Therefore, the term Socratic ignorance was
coined and it represents that one acknowledges that one does not know what one does not know. It
is the awareness of not knowing.
2.What is virtue?
Socrates defined virtue as having the knowledge of moral excellence. Virtue is when one builds
up knowledge by acquiring the applications of skills and the building up of character. Once this
knowledge is acquired, Socrates claimed that virtue creates wealth and all else that is good.
Socrates also believed that if you were a virtuous person then you would know what is right, and
you will do what is right.

Natural theology is the small piece to the bigger puzzle Aquinas was putting together in his attempt

How Did John Hancock Influence The Declaration Of...
John Hancock was a patriot, merchant, and signer of the Declaration of Independence. He was one
of the original instigators of the American Revolution, and he led the Second Continental Congress
to sign the document that declared complete freedom from the British. John Hancock was very
important in establishing the country that stands today, and he encouraged the people of Boston to
see the tyranny of the British. () John Hancock over qualifies for a position in the History Hall of
fame due to his influence in the American Revolution, his role in the Continental Congress, and his
signing of the Declaration of Independence. John Hancock was born on January 12, 1737. He
became an orphan upon the death of his father until his wealthy uncle adopted him and put
Hancock to work. His uncle owned a mercantile firm called Thomas Hancock Company, which
was the leading trade company in Boston, Massachusetts at the time. (John Hancock) John

Hancock openly expressed his dismay for Britain s treatment of the colonies. He owned a ship,
Liberty that was confiscated by the British customs guards for smuggling goods in. Hancock was

the government boat, beat the officials, and burned the same boat they invaded. (John Hancock

ER Diagrams and Databases
Since the beginning of the industrial revolution, people have been trying to make their life easier
using machines. This has led to huge technological breakthroughs that brought about computers,
cars, airplanes etc. Nowadays computers are widely used to perform various tasks on users behalf.
Another people s passion since ancient times is to store and preserve information for the
generations to come (libraries, archives). During the 1960 s people s desire to store and retrieve
information was combined with the opportunities that computers offered to create the first
computerized database. This turned out to be a milestone in the way people manage information. It
offered many advantages: Data can be organised easy; it takes up very little physical space; users
can search the data for specific information; The Database can be shared between different users; it
can be accessed remotely etc. Due to these advantages, the new modern way of collecting data
gradually replaced paper Databases. It became a much more cost effective way for organisations
and companies to store their data. Currently, computer databases are being used everywhere:
Facebook, online stores such as Amazon and eBay, airports, hospitals, government institutions etc.
Even the libraries that are considered to be old fashioned have stored their information
electronically.
However, databases have to meet some challenges. Nowadays, the purpose of databases is to serve
the demands of large scale companies. These

Why Is Curriculum Important
Exam #1
1.What is curriculum and why is it important?
Curriculum is a difficult topic to define. There are many variations of curriculum types and ways
in which it can be defined. Curriculum can be defined as a sequence of steps laid out in order to
create a plan for achieving goals, particularly in education. Saylor, Alexander, and Lewis define
curriculum as a plan for providing sets of learning opportunities for how individuals can become
educated (Ornstein Hunkins P. 8). Wiles and Bondi view curriculum as a development process
where the philosophy becomes identified, the students ability is assessed, methods for possible
instruction are considered, strategies are implemented, assessment devices are chosen, and this
process is one that is continually adjusted (Ornstein Hunkins P. 8).
Curriculum can also be defined as dealing with learner s experiences meaning that anything planned
in or out of school is part of the curriculum. This is the definition that humanistic curricularists
follow (Ornstein Hunkins P. 9). Individuals who discuss curriculum in theoretical terms as opposed
to practical terms tend define curriculum as a field of study. However, most U.S. school districts
tend to define curriculum in terms of subject matter. Subject matter and content can be discussed in
terms of the subject itself as well as the content regarding grade levels.
Curriculum is important to the health and development of schools and society (Ornstein Hunkins P.

William Blake Literary Analysis
What is now proved was once only imagined.
(Ed. Mason, Michael. William Blake: Selected Poetry. Oxford World Classics, 2008.)
This paper started with a quote which mainly emphasize on the power of imagination. The line
which is quoted above, said by one of the early romantic poet, one who never went to university,
never took opium, did not end up his life in a very tender age, never left England, did not went on
any Grand tour in his life span, did not have any illicit or failed affairs or relationships, had no one
who would call him father and unfortunately never got the fame during his own lifetime. He is the
one, who shine out like a star whenever one talks about Mysticism and Imagination in English
Literature, William Blake. What he says about Imagination is
The Imagination is not a state: it is the human existence itself.
(Damon, Samuel Foster. Ed. Eaves Morris. A Blake Dictionary: The Ideas and Symbol Of William
Blake. UPNE, 1988.)
After reading his thoughts about imagination and the power of imagination one could able to
recognize that he believes in the imaginary world around him. He talks about angels and God like
figures which could be seen by him only, which proves him as true mystic.
After knowing the fact that he was a mystic, the next questions which struck the minds is what is
Mysticism? What is so fascinating in mysticism which makes him a mystic?
Here is the answer, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, Mysticism is a Belief that union
with or absorption into the deity or the absolute, or the spiritual apprehension of knowledge
inaccessible to the intellect, may be attained through contemplation and self surrender . It also
comes with another definition which says, Vague or ill defined religious or spiritual belief,
especially a belief in the occult . So, basically it is somehow related to the kind of religious beliefs
a person have. Actually, Blake was a non conformist. Non conformism refers in history to religious
groups that had alienated from the Church of England in the course of the seventeenth and
eighteenth centuries. Such people had groups like Baptists, Methodists, Puritans, Quakers and
Unitarians. Few researchers believe that his parents were Swedenborgians or readers

Identity Crisis in Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman Essay
Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman is the story of a man much like Miller s father, a salesman,
whose misguided notions of success result in disillusionment (Draper 2360). The suppression of the
main character, Willy Loman s, true nature is a result of his pursuit of a completely misguided
dream. The fraudulent and miserable existence this generates is accentuated by the father son
relationship he shares with his son Biff. Willy Loman has surrendered the life of himself and his
sons to a dream of success, while this dream is not particularly reprehensible, it is nevertheless
unsuitable for him and can only be kept alive at the expense of his selfhood. Because Willy does
not know himself, his ambitions ?are based on false... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
and live a simple life (Miller 72). In fact, his road accidents are attributed to these bouts of
dreaming spent gazing at scenery, specifically trees (Corrigon 97). Whenever Willy reminisces,
the pastoral melody of a flute, ?telling of grass and trees and the horizon,? is heard, affiliated
with his trailblazing flute maker father (Miller 11). Willy?s father ?was a pioneer type? who
traversed cross country in a wagon, ?earning money by ingenious inventions and the making of
flutes? (Corrigon 97). The pastoral dream, pursued through carpentry or farming, would have
been more fitting for Willy?s nature than the cruel world of sales in the ?constraints of the
modern city? (Corrigon 97). Willy feels best performing manual labor??planting a small garden,
building a swing, or putting a new addition on the house??but cannot grasp the happiness these
achievements bring (Nelson 119). Willy is somewhat aware that he is not cut out for commercial
success because the ?falsity of his existence? torments him (Nelson 131). Willy?s anguish is best
expressed in his fruitless attempts to plant a garden: ?the crumbling salesman?s last vain attempt to
accomplish something, the dying ember of the agrarian frontier dream? (Nelson 122). Willy has
?given his real nature a horrible wrench in an attempt to mould it? into the strained life of a
salesman in a big city (Sharma 370). In short, this repression has obliterated his true identity, quite
obvious in comparison to his son Biff. Miller

SPA Essay
Ajax can be used to develop SPA, but it has some issues with it: 1.Complexity: Execution in any
SPA requires DOM structure to be modified again and again asynchronously in an HTML view.
Controller is responsible for performing such asynchronous operations and as the application
grows large, controller itself becomes complex. The complexity is also increased as developers
tries to add more features to existing application. So, for any changes in the view would also
require changes in controller as well which increases complexity. 2.Debugging: Any DOM
manipulations in the controller are also dependent on events in any HTML view. There is tight
coupling between view and controller which can makes it hard to test and debug any application....

It can also capture parameters passed in URI to be assigned to controller in use. The controller
can thus read the information from URI and make routing decisions accordingly. 4.Directives
Directives have the ability to add new functionalities to the existing DOM. AngularJS has many
built in directives such as ngApp, ngController, ngBind etc. These directives have their own
functionalities in the AngularJS application. Developers can also create their own directives to
add new reusable components. Benefits of SPA: 1.Better User Experience: As Single Page
Applications (SPA) has single page only and part of the web page is refreshed dynamically with
minimum response time, SPA offers better user experience to users. Unlike In traditional
applications whole web page is reloaded completely which is sometimes unnecessary and may even
not feasible on slow network connections. 2.Compatibility: SPA can be easily deployed on other
platforms such as mobile, Tablet or Desktop. Developer can reuse the same piece of code for web
version and mobile application also. 3.Easy deployment and version control: Deployment in
production server is very easy in case of SPA as there are separate client and server logic. One can
easily deploy at client part as only 3 files are typically needed: a single page(.html), a CSS bundle,
and a JavaScript bundle. Rollback to previous version is also very easy in case of

12. Do not complain about the grade that a teacher gave you. Students are no longer given grades;
they earn them (a slight change from kindergarten that a few students struggle with). I grade
according to the syllabus and how effectively students meet the assignment objectives.
13. I do not care what grade you need to make. I do care that you improve as a student (earning a
certain grade is your concern while your being an educated student is mine).
14. If you cheat, you will earn a 0 and not be given a second chance on the assignment (if you are

In both of the Short stories i ve read by Jamaica Kincaid and Judith Ortiz Cofer the author uses a
young girl, both of those females were given a series of instructions on how they should live
their life, in my opinion both characters in the story were being stereotyped on how a girl should

daughter, in the story she describes to her the manner on how to act like a Female, how to do
household work and cook correctly. The mother actions intends to help her daughter, After reading
the story by Jamaica Kincaid I believe that that the mother feels her daughter needs to act more like
a female and not the slut she plans on becoming. The author uses a chastising tone which was
illustrated throughout the whole story when she scolds her daughter. In The myth of the Latin

and how the American culture was different from her home country Puerto Rico , the narrator
also expresses how she lived as a girl growing up. Jamaica Kincaid is an Antiguan American

A Report On Early Spring Planting
Early spring planting is a great way to enjoy an abundance of early produce that normally
wouldn t be available until the late spring or early summer. Many smaller gardens can be started
indoors with setups as simple as a few herb seeds in a windowsill planter or as complex as a
multi light hydroponic system. One of the most common mistakes that happen with starting
your spring garden indoors is stating too early. Conditions must be timed exactly right so that as
the indoor plant becomes ready for transplanting to a full bed, the conditions outside will at least
allow transplanting the now grown seedlings to cold frames. Once the weather turns and the last
frost has gone, the cold frames are removed and the plants will be well on there way to a quick
spring start. This can give you the chance in some areas to allow for two or even three growing
seasons throughout the year. Simple systems and complex indoor growing operations all have
one thing in common; they need light. Without sunlight through a windowsill or high powered
light bulbs, plants just won t grow. In fact very few organisms can survive without sunlight, and
those that do live in the sea or caves. A good source of light is crucial to the success of starting
your spring garden indoors. When starting from seeds, you ll need to germinate them first. Most
seeds can be started in simple containers like paper cups, but some prefer peat cups or
biodegradable cups. The choice doesn t matter so long as they are

The Effects Of Caffeine On Oxidative Stress
In the present study, the MDA level was measured as an index of lipid peroxidation in order to
observe the effect of caffeine on the oxidative stress induced by AlCl3 in cortex, hippocampus and
striatum brain areas. Brain tissues are more vulnerable to oxidative stress other than tissues for
many reasons such as high oxygen consumption (more than 20% of the total inspired oxygen), the
presence of abundant amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids which are susceptible to free radicals
attack, low antioxidant levels, high iron content in addition to the non regenerative nature of
neurons (Nehru and Anand, 2005; Kim et al., 2015). All these reasons may explain why brain is

The present results showed that daily protection with caffeine attenuated the increase in MDA
levels in AlCl3 intoxicated rats. Supporting the present finding, previous studies have revealed the
antioxidant potential of caffeine against lipid peroxidation in various animal models of neurologic
diseases, including Alzheimer s disease (Prasanthi et al., 2010), epilepsy (Souza et al., 2013) and
Parkinson s disease (Khadrawy et al., 2017). It has been demonstrated that caffeine has the ability
to scavenge reactive oxygen species (Devasagayam et al., 1996) and modulated the brain
antioxidant system through increasing the content of GSH and activities of antioxidant enzymes
like glutathione reductase and superoxide dismutase (Abreu et al., 2011). Generally, the antioxidant
capacity of caffeine was similar to that of the established biological antioxidant GSH and
significantly higher than ascorbic acid (Devasagayam et al., 1996). Accordingly, this may explain
the ability of caffeine to attenuate lipid peroxidation induced by AlCl3 in the current study via
direct scavenging of reactive oxygen species or by increasing GSH content and antioxidant
enzymes activities.
The present data revealed that daily oral administration of AlCl3 resulted in a significant increase in
NO levels in the cortex, hippocampus and striatum. NO is the smallest signalling molecule within

Introduction
The Falklands War, or La Guerra de Las Malvinas in Spanish, also referred to as The South
Atlantic War. It was a small, but furiously loud conflict between two countries across different
ends of the globe, both fighting for a few small islands in which most of the population farm
sheep for a living. Before going any deeper into the essay, the selected topic is personally a very
difficult area to delve into, as my Argentine background has always made me see this conflict
differently. This is from the prolonged exposure to Argentine culture, which the Falkland War
greatly affected, including my family and friend s history to the war, and events around it, which is
also why I chose it.
The history of the Islands has already had a long history before the war, in 1690 a British sailor
John Strong discovers the islands, half a decade later, and they claim the Islands as a British
Colony. During Britain s, delayed claim, Spain joins into the dividing of the islands, later France
also intervenes with the colony, managing to get a slice too. Between 1764 and 1767, initiated by

aircraft manufacturing industry? Introduction The current aircraft manufacturing industry is lead
by three or four main manufacturing companies. The European company Airbus based in France,
the US American Company Boeing based on the West Coast of the US and not to forget Embraer
with its Headquarters in South America and Bombadier, homebased in Quebec, Canada. Reading
that there are only three companies in the marked, it could seem that there is hard but less
competition as there is lots of demand. The past few years have proven us wrong. The competition
is very tough and each of those named companies is fighting hard to acquire new... Show more

Another significant factor that is connected to the fuel consumption is the emission control. 2%
of the global greenhouse emissions come from the CO2 emissions of aircrafts It does not seem
a lot, still regulators like the EU and government put a lot of pressure on airlines to reduce
aircraft emissions by charging by selling certificates. New technical developments are very much
needed and also put pressure on the manufacturing companies. The ETS (Emission Trading
Scheme) will be implemented in the year 2012 which will force some operators in making some
significant changes in their fleet. Emerging Markets The hubs of the world s economy have
shifted recently and it will continue to change. According to the economist, while 2009 the
world s largest economy (based on the nominal GDP in USD) is still the US, by 2029 the lead
will be taken over by China. Another country that should be kept clearly in mind is India. The
countries economy is definitely on an upswing with a high demand in the aviation sector. New
airlines are founded like king fisher airlines as well as an expansion of already excising local
carriers. Forecasts show that the passenger traffic in emerging economies will increase almost as 3
times faster as in the States or Western Europe. Those emerging countries were also suffering form
the financial crises in 2008 but their recovery was much faster than in the rest of the world. Due to
the population in especially China and India,

The During The Revolutionary War
During the rages leading up to the Revolutionary War, the multiple acts of parliament, such as
the Sugar and Stamp Acts, were used as tools over the colonies and kindled the hatred of the
Crown for the majority of the colonists, thus sparking the flame needed to begin the
Revolutionary War. From the very beginning of the colonization of North America by Great
Britain, the colonies were looked down upon by the so thought higher ups of the English
parliament and people. After England s war with France, the so called The Great War for
Empire , and the subsequent money loss, Britain had to find a source of funds, and quickly.
There was no better place for England s lost funds to be recovered than from the pockets of their
small, defenseless colonies. As such, the English Parliament enacted the Molasses Act. The
Molasses Act, imposed on the English Colonies in 1733, was the answer to money lost in
England s war with France. This put a sixpence per gallon tax (equivalent to $0.09 American
Dollars; which was a lot in 1764) on all molasses, sugar, and rum coming in or out of the
American Colonies so that Britain could keep their finger on the pulse of the American market.
This act did almost nothing to appease the British, because very few Americans actually bought
molasses after the act passed, smuggling it in instead. (2) As the Molasses Act failed, George
Grenville, the then prime minister of Great Britain, came up with the Sugar Act. The Act was
passed in 1764. It reduced

The Trial On The Jury System
Introduction
Have you ever been to a trial or have you seen a trial on the television? Have you ever saw that
group of people that were sitting in a box? Or have you ever heard someone say they have to go do

court of law. You may say well what is a jury? A jury is a body of people sworn to give to give a
verdict in a legal case on the basis of evidence submitted to them in court. In this paper we will
talk about three counties and how their jury system goes. And if they don t have one we will talk
about what they do for their judicial system. Jury system makes the court s trial easier and fair.

After the reviewing of the questionnaire the court will randomly select those who will be
summoned to jury duty. (Criminal Find Law) Everyone must do jury duty once every 12
months. There will be a $1500 fine if you do not show up and perform your duty. There is two
reasons on why you could be excused. One reason is if they have a physical or mental
impairment. The other reason is if attending will cause a financial burden. (US Courts) To be on
jury duty you won t have to understand English 100% you must understand it enough to be able to
know what is going on. The court uses the common language. But if you cannot understand the
language at all then you could call in or have someone to translate for you when you call into the
local jury department. There is a chance that you will need to go down there to prove that you don
t speak the language. (California State Law)
Mexico Jury System
Mexico did not commonly use the jury system. The judicial protection is provided by the Writ of
Amparo. The Writ of Amparo allows the person convicted in the court of a local judge to appeal
to one of the federal judges. There trial system is based on by the Napoleonic Code. It consist of a
sees of fact gathering hearings. The judges are appointed for life. (Mex Online) The record of the
proceedings is not available to the public. That was forced on March 21, 1804. The legal system
came about in 1806. In 1808 a code of criminal instruction was

How Did Catherine Mcauley Change The World
Ven. Catherine McAuley planted a seed that would change the world, even after her death. She
was born September 29, 1778. Although there is some irresolvable uncertainty about the year, this
is the year that most biographers generally accept. Her father had passed away when she was very
young, and her mother passed shortly after. After the passing of her mother, she moved in with her
Protestant relatives and became friends with the Callaghans. She served as a household manager
and companion for Mrs. Callaghan. After Mr. Callaghan passed away, he left Catherine the estate,
leaving her a considerable fortune. Little did he know that Catherine was going to change the lives
of many with her inheritance. Catherine recognized the many needs of

Tax Exempt Status Of Credit Unions
Tax exempt status of credit unions is at risk!
COLLAPSE
Credit unions have been a staple in the United States since 1909 and were instituted to provide
affordable credit to working class families. They are member owned, not for profit, and report to a
volunteer board of directors. Credit unions are federal income tax exempt and have been since 1934
when the Federal Credit Union Act granted the status due to being a cooperative that operates by
and for the members. There are Over 96 Million hard working Americans that choose to bankwith
credit unions over the larger banks. Earlier this year members of the U.S Congress considered
passing a tax reform that involved reversing the tax exempt status of credit unions. This will not ...

The National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) commissioned a study to examine
what would happen to the U.S. economy if the presence of credit unions was reduced
significantly as a result of eliminating the credit union tax exemption. The authors of the study
are Robert Feinberg, Ph.D., Professor of Economics at American University; and Douglas
Meade, Ph.D., Director of Research at Interindustry Economic Research Fund, Inc. Previous
studies had demonstrated that changes to the credit union tax status in Canada and Australia led
to a severe reduction in credit union presence. The resulting reduced competition for consumer
financial services led to higher interest rates on consumer loans and lower interest rates on
deposits for consumers in those countries. The results of the 2014 study indicate that similar
impacts on consumers would be seen here in the United States should the credit union tax
exemption be eliminated. Some of the key findings are Removing the credit union tax
exemption would actually cost the federal government $15 billion in lost income tax revenue
over the next 10 years. Gross Domestic Product would be reduced by $148 billion, and 1.5
million jobs would be lost over the next decade as well. The total benefit to U.S. consumers from
the presence of credit unions in financial markets was $153 billion over the nine year period of the
study, or $17 billion per year. (NAFCU 1) Taxing credit unions only results in costing the

Side Effects Of Antidepressants
I know that antidepressants produce side effects that can turn out to be worse than what they are
being used to treat, such side effects can include suicidal thoughts/actions, insomnia, and anxiety.
Antidepressants are used to treat disorders such as anxiety disorder, depression, and attention
deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). I am interested in the topic of antidepressants because
since the beginning of sophomore year (2.5 years ago) I have seen countless mental health
professionals and taking antidepressants. I have been on over a dozen types of antidepressants.

A root is something that is at the core of a problem. For example, a wide variety of ecological
characteristics have remained identified as risk factors for depression. Things such as early life
stresses, such as physical or sexual abuse, neglect, and loss of a family member or guardian, have
been shown to significantly increase the probability of developing depression, and other
psychological disorders, later in life. The properties of early life stressors are influenced by a
variety of genes, and the 5 HTTLPR gene, involved in serotonin transporter functioning, has
received significant attention. (UniteForSite). In making this comment, UFS is urges us to believe
that not all depression is social and emotional, it can also be

Peru Human Development
Analyzing data Peru s Human Development Report from the United Nations Development
Programme, one can learn a lot about a country. Human Development Index (HDI) is a summary
used to assess progress in three basic dimensions of human development; which consists of a
long and healthy life, knowledge and average standards of living. A long and healthy life is
measured by life expectancy at birth, knowledge level is measured by the years of education
among the adult population. Overall Peru s HDI value for 2015 is 0.740 which is a high human
development category ranking 87 out of 188 countries and territories. Between 1990 and 2015
this index increased 20.7 percent due to the increase in life expectancy at birth by 9.3 years, mean
years of schooling increased by 2.4 years and expected years of schooling increased by 1.5 years.
This is a great improvement for a country and is expected to keep thriving in this category. In 2010
the Human Development Report (HDR) introduced the Gender Inequality Index (GII) to reflect
gender based inequalities in three categories, such as reproductive health, empowerment, and
economic activity.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Furthermore, women have the capability to bear children which can increase death rates. For

Summary Of Presidential Power By Richard Neustadt
In the excerpt Presidential Power, Richard Neustadt argues that ability to persuade, lead, and
bargain is the sources of presidential power. He wrote, His strength or weakness, then, turns on his
personal capacity to influence the conduct of men who make up the government. His influence
becomes the mark of his leadership... Presidential ...means nothing but the president. Power means
his influence. The president s ability to lead people means that people give him/her power.
Neustadt recognizes how, in form, all presidents are leaders, nowadays, explaining how many other
people or entities seek guidance and leadership, and that the president, as the Great Initiator is the
most suited person to deliver it. Yet, Neustadt argues that this

Double Bass Research Paper
The double bass is the largest and deepest sounding of the stringed instruments in the viol family,
although scholars sometimes argue about its true lineage. This instrument is prevalent in many
genres like jazz, blue grass, and rock and roll. There is also a science behind its strings and the
melodious sound that they make. The history of the double bass goes back as early as 1493 when
people started noting that there were viols that were as big as humans. The first illustration of the
instrument is found in 1516. Historians thought that it would be more important to find the earliest
form of tuning using either forths or third fourth tuning. The term third fourth tuning is named by
Praetorius that was used for a six string instrument... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many six stringed instruments were lighter that later became the modern double bass. There
were very few five stringed basses in the 17th century. Leopold Mozart had noted that there were
some very intricate pieces for concertos, trios and solos that were made specifically for these less
popular pieces. These models consisted of notes like F1 A1 D F# B. In the early 1609, Adriano
Banchieri made an early bass that had six strings D1 G1 C E A d, but in the next century, it was
overpowered by a three stringed bass that contained either A1 D2 G2 or G1 D2 G2 and also had
no frets. This was on of the first symphony bass models that lasted up until the 1920s. At that
time E1 was added and made it easier to play lower notes instead of transposing them up an
octave. The double bass with its four strings has a range of pitches. It is tuned in fourths so its
basic strings are E1 A1 D2 G2. Its pitches start as low as 41.2 Hz and go as high as 98 Hz. It
gains these pitches by putting tension on the strings. The large strings have a higher mass and
stiffness that also help achieve this set of

In a study that was conducted in 1999 it was clear that women suffered abuse the most, creating
gaps in families resulting into homelessness. A study done in 1997 investigated whether or not bad
childhood experiences played a factor into adult homelessness. Family abuse is one of the main
reasons why youth decide to become homeless. Aboriginal people have the highest rate of
homelessness in their community. This article states that programs that only focus on training and
employment readiness are not what is needed by all homeless youth, but in fact, they needed proper
therapy to talk about their traumatizing adults to live better everyday

Stereotypes Of African American Women During The Civil War
A closer study at Mammy , the quintessential Southern African American nanny, as the core icon of
African American womanhood, during the Civil War, particularly in films, who has figured
prominently on memory, reveals that her depiction and characteristics skewed the collective and
individual memory of the role of real African American women, such as Harriet Tubman. This
powerful figure in Southern households created stereotyped images of African Americanwomen
slaves, i.e. Gone with the Wind (1939), allowing audiences to believe this to be an accurate
depiction of African American women rather than recognizing the major contributions they made in
the Civil War. The stereotype overshadowed the real efforts and work of African American women,
both enslaved and freed; and left a false image which affected women then and now.
Particularly, in Civil War era films, African American women were predominantly shown as
having a robust figure, a constant smile, and a happy disposition, i.e. mammies. By the time the
flood of Civil War features began in 1908, these racist cliches were set in stone (Chadwick 80).
The archetype of Mammy became a stereotype created by white producers in an effort to portray
African American women in a more pleasing light, to satisfy white audiences. Filmmakers actions
created an intensified racial stereotype and instilled a false image of African Americans. Chadwick
called this the Hollywood black : a racial viewpoint filmmakers created about blacks.

The Yellow River And The Chinese Nation
The Yellow River is located in Qinghai, China. In the present day it is not very dense in
population. It is a very high altitude called the Tibetan Plateau. It is place of strong Tibetan and
Mongol cultural traditions in present day China. The Yellow River is known by all Chinese
people as the mother river (Wu). It is also agreed upon by almost all Chinese people that it is the
cradle of Chinese civilization and the spiritual home of the Chinese people (Zhou). The Yellow
Riveris the symbol of the Chinese nation, the spirt of the Chinese people, but most importantly
civilization itself. The Yellow River gets its name from the yellowish color of the water. The
water is yellow because each year over 1.6 billion tons of soil flows into the river, which causes
the rise and shifting of the river bed (Wu). Before the damming of the river it was extremely
prone to flooding which in turn caused millions of deaths. The Yellow River flooding is
responsible for the deadliest disaster in human history. It is said the river had changed course
twenty six times between 608 BC and 1938 AD and flooded of fifteen hundred times (Wu). The
Yellow River is not what is used be unfortunately. With the decrease in rainfall in the Yellow
River Basin and also increasing water demands for irrigation purposes the river has dried up
annually since 1972. The longest it ever ran dry was in 1997 for 226 days (Wu). These annual
droughts have brought many challenges to the regions agriculture

Balfour shared Henley s view in principle that Mesopotamia could supply the British Empire with oil, a natural resource that she had shortage of. Balfour asserted I do not care under what system we keep the oil, whether it is by a perpetual lease or whatever it may be, but I am quite clear it is all important for us that this oil should be available. LIoyd George for his part favoured a military occupation of Mosul Wilayat before the end of the war. The opportunity to view sexual harassment as an abuse of power, rather than an incident provoked by a victim s inappropriate dress or comments, may clarify the confusion felt by respondents over the causes of harassment and their responses to it (Phillips and Schneider, 1993). In my own personal opinion, the researchers recommendations focusing on the development of self awareness by implementing either one on one or group sessions is an effective way of providing, not only the female physicians but all women in general, an idea of how to detect and prevent impending sexually motivated advances and how to recover for those who already are victims of it. These recommendations however failed to specify any possible legal recourse should a victim opt for it. Executive Compensation Essay Accounting Theory Assignment Executive Compensation [pic] Introduction Executive compensation together with corporate governance systems has received an increasing amount of attention from the press, corporations, financial academics and also the government. An executive compensation plan is a major application of the agency theory study and, thus, an agency contract between the shareholders and CEO s of the business, which attempt to align the interests of the owners and the managers by basing the CEO s or executive s compensation on some performance measure of the managers expended effort in operating the organization. The sensitivity of a compensation plan to net income can be achieved by moving to a current value accounting system, thereby reducing recognition lag. This will result in more payoffs from the manager s effort in the current period. However current value accounting reduces the precision of the information, which means there is less importance for net income in compensation. On the other hand, share price is more sensitive that net income sooner to certain events such as acquisitions and mergers or R D. This sensitivity makes share price a better device for calculating compensation. Share price however is not as precise as net income since it can be affected by events such as changes in the economy s interest rates or terrorist attacks that has nothing to do with manager effort. An alternative approach to increasing sensitivity in net income is to ensure full disclosure, especially concerning unusual and non recurring items. Full disclosure makes it more difficult for managers to shirk by choice of accounting policies and enables the committee to evaluate manager effort and ability as well as earnings persistence. Persistent earnings are a more sensitive measure of current manager effort then price irrelevant earnings, which may arise independently of effort. Compensation committees tend to value persistent earnings when they are setting manager compensation. The compensation committee can adjust the relative proportions of the net income based and share ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mothi Ram M.Tech Asst.Professor Dept of Electrical and Electronics Engineering SRKR Engineering College Bhimavaram, India. ABSTRACT This paper proposes a new real and reactive power coordination controller for a unified power flow controller (UPFC). The basic control for the UPFC is such that the series converter of the UPFC controls the transmission line near the micro grid real/reactive power flow and the shunt converter of the UPFC controls the UPFC bus voltage/shunt reactive power and the DC link capacitor voltage. In steady state, the real power demand of the series converter is supplied by the shunt converter of the UPFC. To avoid instability/loss of DC link capacitor voltage during transient conditions, a new real power coordination controller has been designed. A new PSO based reactive power coordination controller has been designed to limit excessive voltage excursions during reactive power transfers. Matlab simulation results have been presented to show the improvement in the performance of the UPFC control with the proposed real power and reactive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some wonder how the cells are even used in vaccines. There are two specific cells used in vaccines (depending on what the vaccineis for). WI 38 and MRC 5 are the two types. WI 38 was first discovered in 1964 when many pregnant women with Rubella were advised to abort their babies. Since computers have the capacity and prominence to replace and represent the collections and creations of information, more general purpose crowdsourcing projects (such as Wikipedia) have become hugely successful. But it can also be utilized to promote niche interests. An article I ve read, presented by the BBC news, has reported on an odd project in which playing a video game is supposed to make the world a safer place. In order to understand how this could possibly be, context must be provided. To be fair, the project is only in experimental stages. Security in information technology is obviously a huge issue. As Ferdinand de Saussure stated and is quoted on a University of Vermont educational website, All signs have two aspects: the signifier and the signified. The signifier is any material thing that signifies, e.g., words on a page, a facial expression, a picture, a bit of graffiti. The signified is the concept that a signifier refers to. In most cases the signified is in relation to the signifier in order to ensure the signified is able to relate to it s signifier. I/e, men smoking looking as though they are enjoying themselves, the signifier is the man smoking the cigarette, and the man, and the cigarette, seeking to signify men or masculinity (Saussure p.2). The same is applied to political signs, in relation the creator of the sign seeks to put emphasis on something that they wish the audience to connect the main idea of their sign too. • 13. Argumentative Essay On Autism Giving a speech in front of classmates. Hugging a best friend after a rough day. Changing up the daily routine at school. These are a few examples of activities most Autistic children consider as their worst nightmare. Even though a child with Autism could be, and probably is, brilliant, they find themselves trapped inside. The Autistic Spectrum Disorder, universally known as Autism, is a disease that causes a child to face mental, physical, and emotional challenges. A wealth of new brain research is lifting the veil on Autism and revealing its effects on a child`s mind (Cray and Wallis 43). Neuroscientist Eric Courchesne at Children`s Hospital of San Diego revealed that while children with autism are born with ordinary size brains, they experience a rapid expansion by age two (Cray and Wallis 45). Much of this growth is due to the excessive amount of white matter, the nerve fibers that link different areas of the brain. The abundance of white matter has led doctors to believe Autism to be a problem with the way the brain is wired. Marcel Just, director of Carnegie Mellon`s Center for Cognitive Brain Imaging in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, wrote that there is a lack of synchronization between the different areas of the brain (Cray and Wallis 46). Local areas of the brain, such as the frontal lobes and the amygdala, are over connected while links between more distant regions, such as the right and left hemispheres, are poorly connected. One area of the Autistic brain that is enlarged is the amygdala. The amygdala`s job is to assess threats in the environment or in emotional and social behavior. It could be enlarged due to the fact that autistic children maintain a high level of anxiety when having to relate to other people. Another enlarged area of the autistic brain is the hippocampus, an area vital to memory. Doctors believe the hippocampus is enlarged because an autistic child relies on memory to process and interpret situations that most people interpret in a different area of the brain. Researchers have also discovered that autistic brains have chronic inflammation. Amidst these issues Autistic people have learned to adapt and use their brains in unusual ways. For example, they memorize the alphabet in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Socrates discovered the concept of ignorance after an oracle spoke to one of his friends stating, no one is wiser than Socrates (Soccio 103). To dispute the Oracle, Socrates went off in search and discovered that many lacked wisdom (politicians and poets) and some, such as craftsmen, had knowledge related to their craft, but also believed that they knew more than they really did. With this discovery, Socrates stated that it was wiser to be aware that one does not know all opposed to pretending that one knows more than they really do. Therefore, the term Socratic ignorance was coined and it represents that one acknowledges that one does not know what one does not know. It is the awareness of not knowing. 2.What is virtue? • 23. ER Diagrams and Databases Since the beginning of the industrial revolution, people have been trying to make their life easier using machines. This has led to huge technological breakthroughs that brought about computers, cars, airplanes etc. Nowadays computers are widely used to perform various tasks on users behalf. Another people s passion since ancient times is to store and preserve information for the generations to come (libraries, archives). During the 1960 s people s desire to store and retrieve information was combined with the opportunities that computers offered to create the first computerized database. This turned out to be a milestone in the way people manage information. It offered many advantages: Data can be organised easy; it takes up very little physical space; users can search the data for specific information; The Database can be shared between different users; it can be accessed remotely etc. Due to these advantages, the new modern way of collecting data gradually replaced paper Databases. It became a much more cost effective way for organisations and companies to store their data. Currently, computer databases are being used everywhere: Facebook, online stores such as Amazon and eBay, airports, hospitals, government institutions etc. Even the libraries that are considered to be old fashioned have stored their information electronically. • 26. Why Is Curriculum Important Exam #1 1.What is curriculum and why is it important? Curriculum is a difficult topic to define. There are many variations of curriculum types and ways in which it can be defined. Curriculum can be defined as a sequence of steps laid out in order to create a plan for achieving goals, particularly in education. Saylor, Alexander, and Lewis define curriculum as a plan for providing sets of learning opportunities for how individuals can become educated (Ornstein Hunkins P. 8). Wiles and Bondi view curriculum as a development process where the philosophy becomes identified, the students ability is assessed, methods for possible instruction are considered, strategies are implemented, assessment devices are chosen, and this process is one that is continually adjusted (Ornstein Hunkins P. 8). Curriculum can also be defined as dealing with learner s experiences meaning that anything planned in or out of school is part of the curriculum. This is the definition that humanistic curricularists follow (Ornstein Hunkins P. 9). Individuals who discuss curriculum in theoretical terms as opposed to practical terms tend define curriculum as a field of study. However, most U.S. school districts tend to define curriculum in terms of subject matter. Subject matter and content can be discussed in terms of the subject itself as well as the content regarding grade levels. Curriculum is important to the health and development of schools and society (Ornstein Hunkins P. 1). Curriculum is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. William Blake Literary Analysis What is now proved was once only imagined. (Ed. Mason, Michael. William Blake: Selected Poetry. Oxford World Classics, 2008.) This paper started with a quote which mainly emphasize on the power of imagination. The line which is quoted above, said by one of the early romantic poet, one who never went to university, never took opium, did not end up his life in a very tender age, never left England, did not went on any Grand tour in his life span, did not have any illicit or failed affairs or relationships, had no one who would call him father and unfortunately never got the fame during his own lifetime. He is the one, who shine out like a star whenever one talks about Mysticism and Imagination in English Literature, William Blake. What he says about Imagination is The Imagination is not a state: it is the human existence itself. (Damon, Samuel Foster. Ed. Eaves Morris. A Blake Dictionary: The Ideas and Symbol Of William Blake. UPNE, 1988.) After reading his thoughts about imagination and the power of imagination one could able to recognize that he believes in the imaginary world around him. He talks about angels and God like figures which could be seen by him only, which proves him as true mystic. After knowing the fact that he was a mystic, the next questions which struck the minds is what is Mysticism? What is so fascinating in mysticism which makes him a mystic? Here is the answer, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, Mysticism is a Belief that union with or absorption into the deity or the absolute, or the spiritual apprehension of knowledge inaccessible to the intellect, may be attained through contemplation and self surrender . It also comes with another definition which says, Vague or ill defined religious or spiritual belief, especially a belief in the occult . So, basically it is somehow related to the kind of religious beliefs a person have. Actually, Blake was a non conformist. Non conformism refers in history to religious groups that had alienated from the Church of England in the course of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Such people had groups like Baptists, Methodists, Puritans, Quakers and Unitarians. Few researchers believe that his parents were Swedenborgians or readers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Identity Crisis in Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman Essay Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman is the story of a man much like Miller s father, a salesman, whose misguided notions of success result in disillusionment (Draper 2360). The suppression of the main character, Willy Loman s, true nature is a result of his pursuit of a completely misguided dream. The fraudulent and miserable existence this generates is accentuated by the father son relationship he shares with his son Biff. Willy Loman has surrendered the life of himself and his sons to a dream of success, while this dream is not particularly reprehensible, it is nevertheless unsuitable for him and can only be kept alive at the expense of his selfhood. Whenever Willy reminisces, the pastoral melody of a flute, ?telling of grass and trees and the horizon,? is heard, affiliated with his trailblazing flute maker father (Miller 11). Willy?s father ?was a pioneer type? who traversed cross country in a wagon, ?earning money by ingenious inventions and the making of flutes? (Corrigon 97). The pastoral dream, pursued through carpentry or farming, would have been more fitting for Willy?s nature than the cruel world of sales in the ?constraints of the modern city? (Corrigon 97). Willy feels best performing manual labor??planting a small garden, building a swing, or putting a new addition on the house??but cannot grasp the happiness these achievements bring (Nelson 119). Willy is somewhat aware that he is not cut out for commercial success because the ?falsity of his existence? torments him (Nelson 131). Willy?s anguish is best expressed in his fruitless attempts to plant a garden: ?the crumbling salesman?s last vain attempt to accomplish something, the dying ember of the agrarian frontier dream? (Nelson 122). Willy has ?given his real nature a horrible wrench in an attempt to mould it? into the strained life of a salesman in a big city (Sharma 370). SPA Essay Ajax can be used to develop SPA, but it has some issues with it: 1.Complexity: Execution in any SPA requires DOM structure to be modified again and again asynchronously in an HTML view. Controller is responsible for performing such asynchronous operations and as the application grows large, controller itself becomes complex. The complexity is also increased as developers tries to add more features to existing application. So, for any changes in the view would also require changes in controller as well which increases complexity. 2.Debugging: Any DOM manipulations in the controller are also dependent on events in any HTML view. Developers can also create their own directives to add new reusable components. Benefits of SPA: 1.Better User Experience: As Single Page Applications (SPA) has single page only and part of the web page is refreshed dynamically with minimum response time, SPA offers better user experience to users. Unlike In traditional applications whole web page is reloaded completely which is sometimes unnecessary and may even not feasible on slow network connections. 2.Compatibility: SPA can be easily deployed on other platforms such as mobile, Tablet or Desktop. Developer can reuse the same piece of code for web version and mobile application also. 3.Easy deployment and version control: Deployment in production server is very easy in case of SPA as there are separate client and server logic. One can easily deploy at client part as only 3 files are typically needed: a single page(.html), a CSS bundle, and a JavaScript bundle. Rollback to previous version is also very easy in case of ... Many smaller gardens can be started indoors with setups as simple as a few herb seeds in a windowsill planter or as complex as a multi light hydroponic system. One of the most common mistakes that happen with starting your spring garden indoors is stating too early. Conditions must be timed exactly right so that as the indoor plant becomes ready for transplanting to a full bed, the conditions outside will at least allow transplanting the now grown seedlings to cold frames. Once the weather turns and the last frost has gone, the cold frames are removed and the plants will be well on there way to a quick spring start. This can give you the chance in some areas to allow for two or even three growing seasons throughout the year. The Effects Of Caffeine On Oxidative Stress In the present study, the MDA level was measured as an index of lipid peroxidation in order to observe the effect of caffeine on the oxidative stress induced by AlCl3 in cortex, hippocampus and striatum brain areas. Brain tissues are more vulnerable to oxidative stress other than tissues for many reasons such as high oxygen consumption (more than 20% of the total inspired oxygen), the presence of abundant amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids which are susceptible to free radicals attack, low antioxidant levels, high iron content in addition to the non regenerative nature of neurons (Nehru and Anand, 2005; Kim et al., 2015). The present results showed that daily protection with caffeine attenuated the increase in MDA levels in AlCl3 intoxicated rats. Supporting the present finding, previous studies have revealed the antioxidant potential of caffeine against lipid peroxidation in various animal models of neurologic diseases, including Alzheimer s disease (Prasanthi et al., 2010), epilepsy (Souza et al., 2013) and Parkinson s disease (Khadrawy et al., 2017). It has been demonstrated that caffeine has the ability to scavenge reactive oxygen species (Devasagayam et al., 1996) and modulated the brain antioxidant system through increasing the content of GSH and activities of antioxidant enzymes like glutathione reductase and superoxide dismutase (Abreu et al., 2011). Generally, the antioxidant capacity of caffeine was similar to that of the established biological antioxidant GSH and significantly higher than ascorbic acid (Devasagayam et al., 1996). Accordingly, this may explain the ability of caffeine to attenuate lipid peroxidation induced by AlCl3 in the current study via direct scavenging of reactive oxygen species or by increasing GSH content and antioxidant enzymes activities. The During The Revolutionary War During the rages leading up to the Revolutionary War, the multiple acts of parliament, such as the Sugar and Stamp Acts, were used as tools over the colonies and kindled the hatred of the Crown for the majority of the colonists, thus sparking the flame needed to begin the Revolutionary War. From the very beginning of the colonization of North America by Great Britain, the colonies were looked down upon by the so thought higher ups of the English parliament and people. After England s war with France, the so called The Great War for Empire , and the subsequent money loss, Britain had to find a source of funds, and quickly. There was no better place for England s lost funds to be recovered than from the pockets of their small, defenseless colonies. As such, the English Parliament enacted the Molasses Act. The Molasses Act, imposed on the English Colonies in 1733, was the answer to money lost in England s war with France. This put a sixpence per gallon tax (equivalent to $0.09 American Dollars; which was a lot in 1764) on all molasses, sugar, and rum coming in or out of the American Colonies so that Britain could keep their finger on the pulse of the American market. This act did almost nothing to appease the British, because very few Americans actually bought molasses after the act passed, smuggling it in instead. (2) As the Molasses Act failed, George Grenville, the then prime minister of Great Britain, came up with the Sugar Act. The Act was passed in 1764. It reduced ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) commissioned a study to examine what would happen to the U.S. economy if the presence of credit unions was reduced signiп¬Ѓcantly as a result of eliminating the credit union tax exemption. The authors of the study are Robert Feinberg, Ph.D., Professor of Economics at American University; and Douglas Meade, Ph.D., Director of Research at Interindustry Economic Research Fund, Inc. Previous studies had demonstrated that changes to the credit union tax status in Canada and Australia led to a severe reduction in credit union presence. The resulting reduced competition for consumer financial services led to higher interest rates on consumer loans and lower interest rates on deposits for consumers in those countries. The results of the 2014 study indicate that similar impacts on consumers would be seen here in the United States should the credit union tax exemption be eliminated. Some of the key findings are Removing the credit union tax exemption would actually cost the federal government $15 billion in lost income tax revenue over the next 10 years. Gross Domestic Product would be reduced by $148 billion, and 1.5 million jobs would be lost over the next decade as well. The total benefit to U.S. consumers from the presence of credit unions in financial markets was $153 billion over the nine year period of the study, or $17 billion per year. • 48. Double Bass Research Paper The double bass is the largest and deepest sounding of the stringed instruments in the viol family, although scholars sometimes argue about its true lineage. This instrument is prevalent in many genres like jazz, blue grass, and rock and roll. There is also a science behind its strings and the melodious sound that they make. The history of the double bass goes back as early as 1493 when people started noting that there were viols that were as big as humans. The first illustration of the instrument is found in 1516. Historians thought that it would be more important to find the earliest form of tuning using either forths or third fourth tuning. The term third fourth tuning is named by Praetorius that was used for a six string instrument... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many six stringed instruments were lighter that later became the modern double bass. There were very few five stringed basses in the 17th century. Leopold Mozart had noted that there were some very intricate pieces for concertos, trios and solos that were made specifically for these less popular pieces. These models consisted of notes like F1 A1 D F# B. In the early 1609, Adriano Banchieri made an early bass that had six strings D1 G1 C E A d, but in the next century, it was overpowered by a three stringed bass that contained either A1 D2 G2 or G1 D2 G2 and also had no frets. This was on of the first symphony bass models that lasted up until the 1920s. At that time E1 was added and made it easier to play lower notes instead of transposing them up an octave. The double bass with its four strings has a range of pitches. It is tuned in fourths so its basic strings are E1 A1 D2 G2. Its pitches start as low as 41.2 Hz and go as high as 98 Hz. It gains these pitches by putting tension on the strings. The large strings have a higher mass and stiffness that also help achieve this set of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 50. Stereotypes Of African American Women During The Civil War A closer study at Mammy , the quintessential Southern African American nanny, as the core icon of African American womanhood, during the Civil War, particularly in films, who has figured prominently on memory, reveals that her depiction and characteristics skewed the collective and individual memory of the role of real African American women, such as Harriet Tubman. This powerful figure in Southern households created stereotyped images of African Americanwomen slaves, i.e. Gone with the Wind (1939), allowing audiences to believe this to be an accurate depiction of African American women rather than recognizing the major contributions they made in the Civil War. The stereotype overshadowed the real efforts and work of African American women, both enslaved and freed; and left a false image which affected women then and now. Particularly, in Civil War era films, African American women were predominantly shown as having a robust figure, a constant smile, and a happy disposition, i.e. mammies. By the time the flood of Civil War features began in 1908, these racist cliches were set in stone (Chadwick 80). The archetype of Mammy became a stereotype created by white producers in an effort to portray African American women in a more pleasing light, to satisfy white audiences. Filmmakers actions created an intensified racial stereotype and instilled a false image of African Americans. Chadwick called this the Hollywood black : a racial viewpoint filmmakers created about blacks. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is a very high altitude called the Tibetan Plateau. It is place of strong Tibetan and Mongol cultural traditions in present day China. The Yellow River is known by all Chinese people as the mother river (Wu). It is also agreed upon by almost all Chinese people that it is the cradle of Chinese civilization and the spiritual home of the Chinese people (Zhou). The Yellow Riveris the symbol of the Chinese nation, the spirt of the Chinese people, but most importantly civilization itself. The Yellow River gets its name from the yellowish color of the water. The water is yellow because each year over 1.6 billion tons of soil flows into the river, which causes the rise and shifting of the river bed (Wu). Before the damming of the river it was extremely prone to flooding which in turn caused millions of deaths. The Yellow River flooding is responsible for the deadliest disaster in human history. It is said the river had changed course twenty six times between 608 BC and 1938 AD and flooded of fifteen hundred times (Wu). The Yellow River is not what is used be unfortunately.
