This document discusses the simple present, present progressive, and non-action verbs in English. It explains that the simple present is used for facts, general truths, habits, routines, and scheduled events. The present progressive expresses ongoing or continuous actions, general tendencies, and irritation with frequency. Non-action verbs like seem, appear, think, want are usually not used in the progressive except in cases where they indicate a temporary behavior or action rather than a state of being. Exceptions and examples are provided throughout.
