(EXPRESSIONS WITH THE VERB "HACER")
The verb Hacer, in English means "to do or to make". It explains "lo
que el clima hace" or "What the weather does", in English it doesn't
make much sense but in Spanish it is the correct way to speak. We
use the impersonal form of the verb "Hacer" since the weather is the
one who does the action. In this case we are going to use "Hace"
Examples:
Hace mucho frio.
(It is very cold)
Hace calor hoy
(It is very hot today)
13. Expresiones con el verbo Haber
(Expressions with the verb "Haber")
The verb haber is used in expressions that answer the
question "How is the weather over there?" And it can
be translates as "there is". It is very common to use it
when the weather is something specific.
Examples:
Hay mucha niebla en el pueblo
(There is a lot of fog in the town)
Hay nieve en la carretera
(There is snow on the road)
Hay una gran tormenta en la ciudad
(There is a big storm in the city)
14. Expresiones con el verbo Estar
(Expressions with the verb "Estar")
The verb "estar" is used when we want to talk about the
weather that is happening at the moment. Use the verb
"estar" in the third person and add a complementary verb if
necessary...
Está lloviendo, no podemos ir al parque.
(It is raining, we can not go to the park)
Está soleado. Es un dia hermoso
(It is sunny. It is a beautiful day)
Está nevando, no puedes salir.
(It is snowing, you can not go out)
