11. CONCLUSION
 The word Witricityderived
from two words Wireless and
Electricity.
 In 1891, Sir Nikola Tesla
proposed a method of
wireless power for transmission. But it
was in radiative mode so,
most of the power wasted
during the transmission.
Introduction
What is witricity?
The term WiTricity is defined as the ability to
provide electrical energy to remote object without
wires using oscillating magnetic fields.
Need Of WiTricity
 The ever increasing power
demand.
 The demand of Eco-friendly
power.
 Requirement of efficient and
reliable power.
 To reduce dependence on
wires and batteries.
 To overcome the problem of
power loss during
transmission.
 1891 :- Sir Nikola Tesla proposed a
method of wireless transmission
of Electric Power.
 1899:- Nikola Tesla managed to
light 200 lamps from a distance
of 40km.
 1961 :- William C. Brown publishes
an article exploring possibilities
of microwave power
transmission.
HISTORY OF WIRELESS
ELECTRICITY
CONTINUATION…….
 2009:- Sony Shows a wireless
electrodynamics-induction
powered TV set, 60W over 50 cm.
At present time:-
“ A GROUP OF ENGINEERSAT MITCAMEUP
WITHTHEIDEATO USE RESONANT
INDUCTIONTO TRANSMITPOWER
WIRELESSLY.”
How It Works
 Magnets coil is housed in a
box and can be set in box and
can be set in a wall or ceiling.
 Antenna is powered by mains
whish resonates at a
particular frequency.
 Electromagnetic waves are
transmitted through the air .
 Second magnetic coil,antenna
fitted in laptop or TV
resonates with the same
frequency as first coil and
absorbs energy.
 Energy charges the battery.

Applications
 Wireless charging of portable device using

 Wireless power transmission used in medical
field
 Wireless charging using electronic vehicle
 Wireless charging in public bus
 Wireless charging of electric vehicle on the
way
 Wireless charging lane for self driven electric
vehicles

Advantages
• No-wires
• No e-waste
• Efficient & Reliable
power
• Need for battery is
eliminated.
• Creation of a shock free
environment.
• Maintenance cost is
• Distance constraints
• Field strength have to
be under safety levels.
• Initial cost is high.
• Air ionization
techniques is not
feasible.
• High frequency must
be the supply.
Disadvantages
 The transmission power without
wires is not a theory or a more
possibility, it is now a reality.
 The electrical energy can be
economically transmitted without
wires to any torrestrial distance.
 The system would reduce the cost
of electrical energy used by a
consumer and get rid of fbe
landscape of wires, cables &
transmission towers.
 It has negligible demerits like
reactive power which was found
insignificant & biologically
compatible.
Conclusion
Thankyou
