This presentation summarizes the concept of wireless power transmission called Witricity. It discusses the basic principles of magnetic resonance that allow efficient energy transfer between resonant objects. An experimental setup is described that simulated transferring 60W between copper coils 30cm in radius located 2m apart. While expensive now, Witricity is seen as having applications for charging devices short distances in the near future and potential for powering vehicles and aircraft over longer distances in coming decades as the technology advances.
