 According to a research carried out by CNS media, the
 gender group who are more likely to watch thrillers
 are males. Men enjoy thriller movies more than
 women because it connects with their ‘masculinity’
 and they tend to enjoy adrenaline and be in tense
 atmosphere. However, female audience may still be
 attracted to this particular film genre.
 The target audience groups for my
  subgenre, ‘Horror’, are roughly aged
  between 15-24 year olds. A statistical
  research produced by the ‘National
  Metro’ showed that 48% of films with a
  ‘horror’ sub-genre had been viewed by
  18-24 year olds and 24% had been
  viewed by 15-17 year olds. These 2 age
  groups combined take almost ¾ of the
  national figures for a conventional film
  with a ‘horror’ sub-genre. Therefore 15-
  24 year olds are most likely to watch a
  thriller that has this sub-genre.
 The same research has results which show that the gender group
  who watches thrillers with this sub-genre does not differ
  hugely, this is shown in the pie chart. Other thriller-horror films
  include Saw, The orphan, Child’s play and Psycho.

 The unique selling point of our film is our concept of having the
  main character played by a little girl, who shows horrific
  intentions and is the opposite of a stereotyped innocent child.
  The disturbing elements that we produced using the little girl
  will intrigue young adults and give them an adrenaline rush
  whilst watching the film. How we portrayed children in our film
  will surprise and attract both thriller and horror audiences as it
  fulfils their desires of what they want to see in this type of film.

  • 2.  According to a research carried out by CNS media, the gender group who are more likely to watch thrillers are males. Men enjoy thriller movies more than women because it connects with their ‘masculinity’ and they tend to enjoy adrenaline and be in tense atmosphere. However, female audience may still be attracted to this particular film genre.
  • 3.  The target audience groups for my subgenre, ‘Horror’, are roughly aged between 15-24 year olds. A statistical research produced by the ‘National Metro’ showed that 48% of films with a ‘horror’ sub-genre had been viewed by 18-24 year olds and 24% had been viewed by 15-17 year olds. These 2 age groups combined take almost ¾ of the national figures for a conventional film with a ‘horror’ sub-genre. Therefore 15- 24 year olds are most likely to watch a thriller that has this sub-genre.
  • 4.  The same research has results which show that the gender group who watches thrillers with this sub-genre does not differ hugely, this is shown in the pie chart. Other thriller-horror films include Saw, The orphan, Child’s play and Psycho.  The unique selling point of our film is our concept of having the main character played by a little girl, who shows horrific intentions and is the opposite of a stereotyped innocent child. The disturbing elements that we produced using the little girl will intrigue young adults and give them an adrenaline rush whilst watching the film. How we portrayed children in our film will surprise and attract both thriller and horror audiences as it fulfils their desires of what they want to see in this type of film.
