At the end of the lesson, the pupils are expected to:
define MS Excel with its parts and functions;
identify its parts and functions; and
try using MS Excel.
3. Microsoft Excel is a popular spreadsheet
application that is composed of rows and tables
with built-in formulas, calculations and
equations. This program was developed under
Microsoft office.
4. The first Microsoft Excel released was in 1985
followed by the first Windows version in 1987,
which was known as Excel 2.0. It was
followed by different versions of MS Excel
until it was developed to the MS Excel that we
are using today.

7. File Button
Click this if you want
to create a new file,
open the existing file,
save a file and
perform many other
tasks like print, share
and export.
8. Insert Tab
This is where you can
see what you can
insert on your sheets.
It can be pictures,
texts and graphs.
9. Page layout
This is where you
can adjust and
manage the layout
of your paper. It
includes the
margin, breaks,
height, width etc.
10. Title Bar
The file name of your
sheet; if it is not yet
saved, the document
will be temporarily
named Book 1-
Excel.

from here but it will
just function online.

12. Sheet Tab Scroll
This sheet is
composed of many
columns. You can
check the sheets
that are not visible
on the screen.
13. Sheet Tab
If you want to have many
sheets in one file, you can
have it on this tab. You
can also rename it, right
click then click rename.
Click the plus sign or Add
sheet tab button to add
more sheets. Sheet 1 will
not affect the actions
made in sheet 2.
17. Key points:
1.Columns - the horizontal axis of the tables.
2.Rows –the vertical axis of the table.
3.Cells – the smaller boxes that are the
intersection of vertical and horizontal axis
18. Remember: The lines that you see in the tables
are just imaginary grid lines. If you print the
document, you will not see these lines. If you
want to put lines in your table for the printed
version, change the border of the cells.
19. Students’Activity: Label the parts of the cell. Write it
