Hydrodyne is an Indian company founded in 1973 by Mr. M.J. Bhola to manufacture mechanical seals. It introduced flexible graphite gaskets and packing in 1983 and pioneered the manufacture of indigenous canned motor pumps in 1994. Hydrodyne specializes in various types of canned motor pumps for different applications, including high temperature, high pressure, slurry handling, and reverse circulation pumps. Automatic 'Thrust Balancing eliminates load on the bearings, while the pump is running. Bearing are designed for life in excess of three years but most often last very much longer. Bearing material options are available in Carbon Graphite, Silicon Carbide or Tungsten Carbide to ensure compatibility with the process fluid including special hard materials, which when combined with hardened shaft journal ensure increased life and enable the pump to cope with abrasive byproducts or other adverse conditions.
