Some Facts About Oil, Gas Market in India-
The demand for Oil &Gas in India is on the rise due to its economic and population(skilled) growth year on year.
Indian Government has made provisions to attract private investment and to increase domestic production through various reforms in the Oil&Gas sector policies. The Government is keen to remove all the obstacles to investment and incentivize oil and gas sector on the lines of ease of doing business and promote the Make in-India initiative in Oil&Gas too.
Several private companies have emerged as important players in the past decade. It is a transparent and level playing field for Indian private/foreign investors and national oil companies — both enjoy the same fiscal and contract terms.
Investment opportunities in India lies in upstream, gas pipeline, CGD network, LNG Terminal, Petrochemical and Refinery.
To encourage private players and global oil companies, Income generated from storage and selling of Crude Oil in Strategic crude oil reserves has been exempted from Income Tax
Government announced the Discovered Small Fields Policy in March, 2016 for monetization of 67 discoveries thorough international competitive bidding.
Government has approved HELP and same has been notified on March 30, 2016. This policy provides a uniform licensing system to explore and produce all hydrocarbons such as oil, gas, coal bed methane, shale oil/gas, etc. under a single licensing framework, option to select the exploration blocks without waiting for formal bid round and also provides many incentives such as reduced royalty rates for offshore blocks, marketing & pricing freedom and easy to administer revenue sharing model.
I had the opportunity to visit an onshore drilling rig of ONGC and had done a project on "Mud Circulation System and Mud handling Equipments in a drilling Rig". I got introduced to various drilling activities, mud tanks, mud handling equipments, mud pumps, solid removal system and other control equipments. I learnt and saw how oil and gas is extracted from the earth crust at 3km depth.
Marco Sully Perez said Oil and gas workers face unique health and safety challenges and are recognized by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) as a priority industry sector under the National Workplace Research Initiative (NORA) to identify and develop intervention strategies in the labor sector Protect. health and safety issues. In 2011, the oil and gas and ancillary industries employed more than 450,000 people (Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages). Therefore, oil well drilling and field maintenance are two different types of business activities in the oil and gas industry.
Oil Shale Ex-Situ Process - Leaching Study of Spent Shaleinventionjournals
During the past decade, significant advancement has been made on various extraction technologies to develop U.S. oil shale resources in an environmentally and economically sustainable fashion. This work has been driven by the increasing demand for domestic transportation fuels and the need to improve U.S. energy security. Although conventional hydrocarbon deposits are becoming more difficult to find and limited in volume, unconventional reserves are relatively easy to locate and plentiful. Hence, development of unconventional resources, particularly shale gas, oil sands, and shale oil continues to receive tremendous attention. The present work shows ex-situ process of oil shale in a five ton/day externally heated horizontal rotary reactor, and discuss the process parameters and yield. The main focus of this article is: A) Effect of reactor bed temperature, rotation speed and feed rate on the residence time, fuel consumption and process yield B) Hazardous environmental issue related to leaching of heavy metals and metalloids from spent shale by underground and/or surface water, which prevent further commercialization of this process. In addition, an Aspen diagram of the overall oil shale process is presented as ongoing work focusing on key mechanical issues that affect online reliability and process efficiency including particle size, bed temperature and solid/gas mixing efficiency.

A review on techniques and modelling methodologies used for checking electrom...nooriasukmaningtyas
The proper function of the integrated circuit (IC) in an inhibiting electromagnetic environment has always been a serious concern throughout the decades of revolution in the world of electronics, from disjunct devices to today’s integrated circuit technology, where billions of transistors are combined on a single chip. The automotive industry and smart vehicles in particular, are confronting design issues such as being prone to electromagnetic interference (EMI). Electronic control devices calculate incorrect outputs because of EMI and sensors give misleading values which can prove fatal in case of automotives. In this paper, the authors have non exhaustively tried to review research work concerned with the investigation of EMI in ICs and prediction of this EMI using various modelling methodologies and measurement setups.

20. Primary Oil
Recovery
Primary oil recovery refers to the
process of extracting oil either via the
natural rise of hydrocarbons to the
surface of the earth or via pump jacks
and other artificial lift devices.
Since this technique only targets the
oil, which is either susceptible to its
release or accessible to the pump
jack, this is very limited in its
extraction potential.
Recovery factor during the primary
recovery stage is typically 5-15%
21. Secondary
Oil
Recovery This method involves the injection of gas or
water, which will displace the oil, force it to
move from its resting place and bring it to the
surface.
This is typically successful in targeting an
additional 30-40% of the oil’s reserves, though
the figure could be more-or-less depending on
the oil and of the rock surrounding it.
22. Tertiary Oil Recovery
This type of method is
used where oil is thicker
and heavier than
normal crude oil.
Steam is injected into
the oil reservoir to
increase its mobility and
thus reducing viscosity.
This method is also
called Thermally
Enhanced Oil Recovery
Method(TEOR).
Some of the oil is
burned to heat the
surrounding oil.
23. • In some cases , surfactants
are added to alter the surface
tenso between oil and water.
• Another method to reduce
viscosity is carbon dioxide
flooding.
• Recovery rate is 5-15%
