3. HISTORY OF CG
• The first computer graphics design system was
developed by Evan Sutherland as his PhD thesis
at MIT in 1963. It was called Sketchpad and
allowed a user to sketch a mechanical part on a
computer screen, place constraints on the part,
and have the computer calculate the exact
design of the part. It was revolutionary and
computer graphics took off “as a thing” from that
time forward.

4. TYPES OF COMPUTER GRAPHICS
• Raster Graphics: In raster graphics pixels are used for
an image to be drawn. It is also known as a bitmap
image in which a sequence of image is into smaller
pixels. Basically a bitmap indicates a large number of
pixels together.
• Vector Graphics: In vector graphics, mathematical
formulae are used to draw different types of shapes,
lines, objects and so on.
