During construction of the product the technology I have learned is that
cameras are harder to use than I ever thought. I did not know that you had to
take the same shot from so many different angles and piece them together
just to make it look like one. I have learned how to keep my hand very still as
if the camera are remotely shakes then it doesn't look professional. I have
learnt that cameras have developed so much and now you can have a camera
those films in HD in your house they are not just for the cinema. I have
developed many different skills one being that I know now the different
angles when filming. I know what angles look good where and how different
angles mean different thing, for example a high angle of someone means they
have more power. I used websites to read up on how to use camera angles to
make my opening scene more interesting and flow better. I have also learnt
that to set the scene and show where they are you need to use a wide shot so
that the audience where they are which then sets the scene. I learned that to
keep the camera from not shaking you have to use a tripod. I did not have to
use a tripod within my filming as my film consisted of me moving the camera
round.
Serif movie Plus has helped me along the way of my course work and I
have learnt to use it along the way. With the software I could but my
pieces of filming together to make it flow smoothly. The way I did this
was putting all my filming together at once and cropping bits down
then taking bits out. It's all just trial and error with serif movie plus
until you get a good piece. Without this software I would not have a
free following movie with lots of different angles. This is the software
that I create my sequence in; I chose this software as the finishing
piece of work looks very professional. I used the cut tool to crop down
the piece of film so it flowed better. I used the crop tool for when I got
something in the background of my filming that was not meant to be
there. I used the text tool to add my titles in serif to make them look
professional.
The software Photoshop has help me with my opening
scene to do my title and titles. For my title ' The Grave
Return' I got an image of a grave stone and put the text as
that so the text has a texture of stone. This then fits in
with my theme of my film. It good to have your title
linked in with the film as people see the title before the
films as they make a judgement on the film from the title.
The title gives the audience clues on what the film is
going to be on. I used the colour changing tool to change
the colour of my fonts. I used the crop tool to crop down
the background for my title. To do this I used the layer
tool and then I used the opacity tool to make it fade in
properly.
I have learned that is many websites that I can
do independent work on to find out about
anything to do with media. There are many
power points available on the internet that I can
download on to my iPad. Therefore I can save it
on my iPad and it can help me in later situations.
There is also website that help you to learn the
camera angles and where they are appropriate
and help make your film look more professional.
When doing my final vision of my film I planned
it in better time. I planned it all step by step and
I wrote down each camera angle that I was
doing in the right order. This helped me when
filming as I didn't have to waste time trying to
think what to do next.
I also used a website called ‘the font’ to research
suitable fonts for my opening sequence. This is
because if the font does not match in with
theme they will just look lost on the screen and
not set the scene properly.
I also planned when I was going to do my film in
good time to be able to edited at school in time
for the deadline. I made sure that I also did it
when it was dark so I looked at when the sunset
was and then started to do my filming.
I created my sequence in serif movie as it
allowed me to put my piece of filming together
and then edit them to make it flow like irate one
continuous film. I created my titles in Photoshop
this software allowed my make the titles any
colour I wanted and allowed me to but a some
effect in the background so it linked in with the
titles ‘the grave return’. I also created my
production logo and film name in Photoshop.
