The costume designer chose basic, affordable, and relatable outfits for the main actors in an upcoming music video. For the female actor, they selected a kami top, black jeans, converse sneakers, and a leather jacket that most teenage girls commonly wear. For the male actor, they chose plain black jeans, a white t-shirt, white converse, and a bomber jacket - outfits made up of generic clothing items that teenage boys frequently wear to help the intended audience relate to the characters. The goal was for both the male and female costumes to feature mainstream, budget-friendly styles that teenagers watching would feel they have in common with the actors.

The female actor is going to wear;
• A kami top. I have chosen this top because they
sell it most high street shops meaning that many
girls have it meaning they will be able to relate to
the character.
• Black jeans. I have chosen black jeans as most girls
have a pair of black jeans. It also doesn't matter
where they are from as they all look the same so
for girls who can afford expensive fashionable
clothing they will still be able to relate whilst
watching the music video to the costumes.
• Converse. I have chosen converse because again
they are fashionable shoes but they are also one
of the affordable ranges and is relatable to
teenagers.
• A leather jacket. I have chosen a leather jacket as
like the rest of the outfit it is a simple fashion item.
This is a basic but very popular combination of
clothing most teenagers wear things like this. This
means that the teens who watch will be able to relate
to her.

3. The main male actor
I am going to have the boy wearing plain outfit but
a fashionable one he will be wearing;
• I have chosen black jeans because anyone can
wear black jeans no matter how much money
they have as you can't see the label where they
are from whilst wearing them. This is relatable
to teen boys as they will feel they are the same
as the actor, as this is what teenagers wear.
• I have chosen a white t-shirt, again a white t-
shirt doesn't matter where it is from so
everyone watching will feel equal making them
be able to relate to the characters.
• I have chosen white converse as they are in
fashion for boys to be able to relate to.
• I have chosen a bomber jacket as they are quite
newly fashionable and the teen boys watching
will be able to relate to.
This again is what most teenage boys wear
therefore the teens who will be watching will be
able to relate to him.
