Mutation Testing for Task-Oriented Chatbots
Conversational agents, or chatbots, are increasingly used to access all sorts of services using natural language. While open-domain chatbots - like ChatGPT - can converse on any topic, task-oriented chatbots - the focus of this paper - are designed for specific tasks, like booking a flight, obtaining customer support, or setting an appointment. Like any other software, task-oriented chatbots need to be properly tested, usually by defining and executing test scenarios (i.e., sequences of user-chatbot interactions). However, there is currently a lack of methods to quantify the completeness and strength of such test scenarios, which can lead to low-quality tests, and hence to buggy chatbots.
To fill this gap, we propose adapting mutation testing (MuT) for task-oriented chatbots. To this end, we introduce a set of mutation operators that emulate faults in chatbot designs, an architecture that enables MuT on chatbots built using heterogeneous technologies, and a practical realisation as an Eclipse plugin. Moreover, we evaluate the applicability, effectiveness and efficiency of our approach on open-source chatbots, with promising results.

In the process, we will learn the secret sauce used to get ScyllaDB's high availability and superior performance. We will also touch on the upcoming changes to ScyllaDB architecture, moving to strongly consistent metadata and tablets.
Dandelion Hashtable: beyond billion requests per second on a commodity server
This slide deck presents DLHT, a concurrent in-memory hashtable. Despite efforts to optimize hashtables, that go as far as sacrificing core functionality, state-of-the-art designs still incur multiple memory accesses per request and block request processing in three cases. First, most hashtables block while waiting for data to be retrieved from memory. Second, open-addressing designs, which represent the current state-of-the-art, either cannot free index slots on deletes or must block all requests to do so. Third, index resizes block every request until all objects are copied to the new index. Defying folklore wisdom, DLHT forgoes open-addressing and adopts a fully-featured and memory-aware closed-addressing design based on bounded cache-line-chaining. This design offers lock-free index operations and deletes that free slots instantly, (2) completes most requests with a single memory access, (3) utilizes software prefetching to hide memory latencies, and (4) employs a novel non-blocking and parallel resizing. In a commodity server and a memory-resident workload, DLHT surpasses 1.6B requests per second and provides 3.5x (12x) the throughput of the state-of-the-art closed-addressing (open-addressing) resizable hashtable on Gets (Deletes).

- 1. My Website Sophia Francis
- 2. A Quick Recap My website was for a musical artist, Markey Blendawho is a dancehall artist. Relates to Marshall McLuhan's ‘Global Village’ theory Aiming to have a Rastafarian theme
- 3. Target Audience The website is targeted at anyone who has a passion for music, Markey Blenda focus’s on dancehall music but does step into many different genres so many people will appreciate at least one song. It is also targeted at other artists, if they are looking to collaborate or are interested in his instrumentals. Record labels, if they were interested in signing him to their label.
- 4. The Original Plan For my home page I wanted to have: A large picture on the artist A logo Music Colourful buttons I liked this image to be put in somewhere.
- 5. Did It Go To Plan? I was able to use the image I wanted for my background but this brought up issues with colours because not many colours go with red, green and yellow so I had to stick with those colours along with black and white. I haven’t added a large picture of the artist on my home I added a logo to all of the pages
- 6. The Programs Dreamweaver Getting the hang of Dreamweaver was difficult but the more I used it, the better I got. The coding was hard at first but it helped. Photoshop I used Photoshop to edit most of my pictures and some of my text, this was simple but I did find that some pictures and text looked very pixelated. Flash I used flash so I was able to bring in some videos into Dreamweaver. It allowed my to choose skins for the videos.
- 7. Problems!! My biggest problem was with the music. I tried making music playlists on Flash because I wanted to have a large amount on songs available for the audience to flick through. I watched tutorials and read books but still wasn’t able to produce one. I had problems with Dreamweaver and the tables obeying me. At times they would randomly go wherever they wanted to. Colours. I wanted to use more colours but it didn’t look right with the background.
