2. Analysis of Previous Student Digipak
This Previous student has created a digipak as promotional ancillary product for her artist ‘Haze’. It is still very relevant
to my research into magazine adverts as a lot of the time adverts are composed from digipaks/album covers.
The album cover is conventional as it features an image of the artist, there name in the largest font and the album name
in a smaller font. The back of the album features a tracklist and reference to the artist’s record label.
Through out the digipak design, there is consistent use of the same font. Similarly, there is consistent use of the colour
scheme which features different shades of pink.
As well as this, on the inside of the digipak, there is graphics and images which are most likely to have some relevance
as synergistic features with the music video.
4. Analysis of Previous Student Website
This Previous Student’s website for their artist fit the conventions of artist
websites. It included Links, images, videos, social media icons, a merchandise
store, music web players for music streaming and reference to the artist’s
record label.
Upon entering the websites home page, there is a menu bar along the top, the
artist’s logo, social media icons and the album cover with a music web player.
When scrolling down on the home page, there is various pictures and videos of
the artist. I feel as if this makes the page layout look too messy, as if the
pictures and videos have just been dumped there. The home page would
probably look more tidier if the images and videos were inserted into some sort
of gallery or slideshow.
Throughout the website, there is consistent use of a very similar font as to the
one used on the album cover and digipak. Also, there is use of the same colour
scheme of different shades of the colour pink. The same graphics and images
from the digipak can be seen around the website too. I believe that this image
of the neon signs is some sort of synergy element used in the music video as
well as both ancillary products.
