The document summarizes the process of redesigning Calvin Harris's album "18 Months" as a school project. The creator had difficulties deciding on an album to recreate, starting with deadmau5 before choosing Calvin Harris. Difficulties included not knowing what elements to include, particularly for the inside cover. The front cover features Calvin Harris' face next to a flame, with logos. The back has a black background and song list. The inside ended up being simplified with colored shapes and logos. In the future, the creator would be clearer on their vision and use more Photoshop tools.

Here is a presentation about planning my digipak and looking at my inspirations and influences. I looked at the digital booklets from artists such as Ariana Grande, Carly Rae Jepson, Ellie Goulding, Selena Gomez and Marina and The Diamonds.

1. I did my album cover of Calvin Harris, I re-designed his album “18 months”.
I was inspired to do this album because I like Calvin´s music a lot, and I know many
of his songs. To do this I used tools like for example, the lasso tools, the quick
selecting tool, the eraser, tool and many more tools.
I had lots of difficulties doing the album cover. First, I was starting to do a
deadmau5 album, and did almost everything. I did the album cover and back cover.
Then I just saw it, and realized that I could do much better than that, so I decided
to do a new album. I did a Calvin Harris album. I also had some very basic
difficulties. For example, at some points, I just did not know what to put next. I felt
this way a lot, but specially when I was working in the last thing, the inside cover.
For the front cover, I got a photo of Calvin´s face right next to a flame at night, so it
looked really cool. Then, I cut some logos (one of Calvin Harris, and the other one
of the album title, 18 months), and put them in the image. In the back cover, I just
put a black background, then put the Calvin Harris logo, and finally put a list of
songs. On the inside cover, I did not know what to do, I was blank. I had no ideas.
After a while, I found out that I wanted it to be really complex, and with lots of
details and using many tools, but I realized that it does not have to be complex to
be good, so I decided to do it simple, not vey complex. I just found a photo in the
internet of an X filled with colours, and put on top a disc with two logos: The first is
the Calvin Harris logo and the other one is the album title logo (18 months).
If I had the chance to re-do this project, I would be sure of what I would
want to do since the beginning, to not re-do it again and to have more time and less
pressure to do this project. I would also wold have liked to use more all of the
tools. I had many difficulties, but at the end, I really enjoyed doing this project and
learning photoshoping techniques.
