Johnson Tiles is one of the UK's largest tile manufacturers. To save energy costs and reduce their carbon footprint, they installed a heat recovery system on one of their roller kilns in 2008. This system recovers heat from the kiln exhaust and uses it to preheat the kiln's combustion air, saving over £83,000 and 4 million kWh of gas per year. Johnson Tiles has also found other innovative ways to reuse waste heat from their manufacturing processes.
