uWIN is a new patented wind turbine designed to recover very low temperature waste heat from 25-75°C to generate additional clean energy. It works by using an updraft effect to draw in air that has been heated by waste heat sources. This enhances the airflow through an upside-down mounted turbine to generate electricity from both the wind and waste heat. Calculated examples show that a 100m tall uWIN turbine could generate 10kW from wind and an additional 1.5kW from 25°C waste heat, or 37kW from wind and 4.4kW from 50°C waste heat. By harnessing underutilized very low temperature waste heat, uWIN has the potential to improve energy recovery efficiency
