Editing can be difficult as our team has varying experience, but we will ensure clean cuts and include different styles like handheld cameras and filters, using other apps to pre-edit clips.
Final Digipak Feedback
The feedback on the rough draft of the digipak was positive about the theme, pictures, and color scheme that fit the EDM genre. This feedback informed keeping most of the same images and urban theme in the final digipak to appeal to the target audience. Additional elements like institutional content in the final version made it look more professional according to feedback, which showed an improvement over the rough cut. Getting feedback on the rough cut motivated polishing the final digipak to better suit the intended audience.
Final Digipak Feedback

We used a close-up photo of the artist Rosie on the music poster to maintain her image, as it is common for artists to appear on their own posters. Problems When Editing
The group encountered problems editing their video as none of them owned MacBooks or had access to professional editing software without paying high fees. They decided to use iMovie on a group member's iPad due to its ease of use, but had difficulties transferring videos from laptops and performing some edits like rotating or speeding up clips. While iMovie automatically saved and had easy viewing, the group learned they would use different editing software if completing the task again.
Evaluation 1
Our music video challenges conventions of the EDM genre in some ways while adhering to others. While EDM videos typically feature narratives unrelated to the lyrics and secondary roles for artists, our video centers on the artist to develop their brand. It also includes an atypical domestic abuse storyline. However, the fast-paced editing, upbeat settings during performances, and focus on popular locations align with genre norms. Overall, the video balances fitting expectations with distinctive elements to create interest.
Editing
We edited shots from our music video footage to make certain shots more prominent than others. We used the Pinnacle app to apply filters and editing styles to enhance the footage and ensure it fit with the song. Shots were cropped and reversed to symbolize lyrics and play with viewer expectations. Precise lip synching to the repetitive song was challenging. Editing also allowed us to manipulate shots to maximize audience emotion and give the video a distinctive style through slowed footage and filters.
Locations and settings for the digipak

The natural lighting, colorful surroundings, and variety of settings would provide production value and help convey emotions. However, the busy, crowded nature of the location also presents risks of crime and preventing clear shots without pedestrians. Precautions and filming at less busy times would need to be considered.

The cinematography captured multiple perspectives of settings and characters. A particularly effective shot showed the main characters hugging on the beach with the sunset creating a silhouette. Lip syncing shots of the main character were filmed from different parts of the song in various locations. The makeup and fake blood used looked realistic in portraying the character's state. Weather conditions were sunny, allowing all needed shots to be captured under good lighting. All group members were motivated and organized in their filming roles.

Practise Digipak
- 1. Initial Ideas For Final Digipak
- 3. I have created this rough digipak using images taken from the second day of filming. This is just a practise and we will get advice and possibly use different images or even take new ones to make a more effective digipak. This consists of relevant images that reflect both the narrative and style of our video. The colour scheme is very multi-coloured and therefore fits our expected target audience who will most likely be teenagers and therefore they would desire a variety of more exciting and interesting colour scheme. We have a consistent urban theme that is relevant within a number of the pictures as they show a wall covered in graffiti and therefore this again shows the audience the location of the video and reflect the age and personality of the artist and protagonist character. There are a number of changes that need to be made but this is just a collection of ideas and learning how to use the programme to make the final edit.
