egocentric, and having little regard for rules or the feelings of others (Duggan, 2009). Individuals with
ASPD have been found to be unable to correctly interpret emotional situations; they also experience
negative feelings more often than positive feelings. They are also more likely to experience anger than

The Foster Family Character Analysis
Living with family can make life rather complex, especially when dealing with problems, because this
group of people are so close to each other emotionally. It s hard to keep secrets or keep things behind
doors because there s not really a door that can t be opened by everyone. This is especially true with
children and teens going through the ropes of high school. Finding the balance of when a child needs
to be disciplined by the parents and when to let the child be more independent with their problem
solving or even finding a way to have everyone connect to each other while also providing a
comfortable space or bit of a distance from each other can be a hard task for everyone, especially if
there are multiple individuals within the family. This example of a family s interesting dynamics that
come about can be seen in a show called, The Fosters. In this show, the Foster family lives in San
Diego where Stef Foster and Lena Adams (in later seasons being Lena Adams Foster) parent five
children, four of them being foster children and one coming from a previous marriage. The children s
names are Brandon (17yrs old), who is the oldest, Mariana (16) and Jesus (16), who are twins that
were adopted after Stef and Lena got together, and Callie (17) and Jude (13) who are siblings that both
got adopted. Stef is the birth mother of Brandon, coming from a previous relationship with another
charater named Mike. Just like any typical American family with children, Stef and Lena deal

Greatness is a road leading toward the unknown (Charles de Gaulle). This melodramatic, cheesy quote
perfectly describes author, Philip K. Dick s writing in his short story Beyond Lies the Wub. Philip K.
Dick was a unique author that explored an unknown part of science fiction and ultimately created
many award winning and interactive short stories. Beyond Lies the Wub was written in 1952, the same
era of the Cold War. Similar to men who were setting off to fight stalked up on food, clothes and
machinery, Franco, a pragmatic captain in this short story loaded up on live animals before their

Since Beyond Lies The Wub has multiple unclear meanings and messages, readers may be left
unpleased. However, Dick may have intentionally created this confusion so that each reader has a
unique experience in how they discern the text. One interpretation of Beyond Lies the Wub is that
Franco may have been punished for his wrongdoings. Even though the crew was not fully supportive
and the Wub warned him about killing him, he still slaughtered the innocent animal. Another
interpretation of the text could be hinting that Philip K. Dick was vegetarian and thinks those who
consume meat should be punished. However, Dick s multiple comments throughout the story about
the concern of the crews starvation suggest Franco s intention was to feed the deprived crew. Dick s
common tactic of ending his mysterious, vague short stories is by implementing an adjacent character
who is just as confused as the audience. The story ends very abruptly leaving Peterson torn between
two sides: whether his captain was just trying to feed his crew or was the innocent animal who
deemed himself worthy of living through his knowledge living through the Captain as a punishment.
By Dick ending the story before the audience receives any more information about how Franco is now
the wub and how Peterson reacts, allows the audience to interpret it for themselves. Ultimately we
must ask ourselves, is all the confusion and lack of clarity making Dick s stories truly effective? I

Federalist, worked so well in the 1790 s. First, when the political parties emerged in the 1790 s it was
evident that their ideologies were vastly different. The Republican Party wanted a representative form
of government that functioned in the interest of the people. This party, led by Thomas Jefferson,
supported a limited central government, with individual states retaining a majority of the control.
Jefferson s vision was for a nation of farmers, and farmers do not need big government to survive.
They feared a large central government would take away the rights of the people. On the other hand,
the Federalist Party, led by Alexander Hamilton, supported a strong central government that would
pursue policies in support of economic growth, which in turn would provide the freedom the people

The Navajo and Hopi tribes have long lived in an area by the region known as the four corners.
Uranium, oil, gas, and coal all very valuable resources can be found under the grounds where these
tribes have lived. When the white men realized this, they passed a law forcing the relocation of the
Indians. In the film, Broken Road, Florio and Mudd (1985) the narrator stated, The government spent
500 million dollars to partition the land between the Navajo and Hopi tribes. 8,000 Indians were
herded from fort Defiance to Fort Sumner, across the New Mexico border. During this trip, many
would die and the ones who survived found themselves in an internment camp . This lasted until the
tax payers realized they were paying over one million a year to keep these camps going (Florio and
Mudd, 1985). After they realized this, the Indians were released. These people were released with only
two sheep and little compensation (Florio and Mudd, 1985).
This horrific treatment of individuals was brutal and unforgivable. This relates very heavily to another
group of disempowered people, when the Nazis invaded and took all the Jews to concentration camps.
These Nazi camps were based off the Indians internment camps where they were killed or held
hostage in terrible, unlivable environments with little food and forced to do work. In this Broken Road
directed by Florio and Mudd(1985), the narrator Martin Sheenan had mentioned, The Nazi s studied
