3. Kesetimbangan adalah suatu kondisi benda dengan resultan
gaya dan resultan momen gaya sama dengan nol.
Kesetimbangan pada sebuah benda partikel dapat dianggap
sebagai suatu kesetimbangan pada suatu titk. Partikel dianggap
sebagai suatu benda yang diabaikan massanya, atau dianggap
sebagai titik materi. Semua gaya yang bekerja pada benda
dianggap bekerja pada titik tersebut. Syarat kesetimbangan
statiknya jika resultan gaya yang bekerja pada benda
tersebut sama dengan nol.

4. Kesetimbangan antara dua fasa dari zat yang sama
dinamakan kesetimbangan fisis (physical equilibrium)
karena perubahan yang terjadi hanyalah perubahan
fisis. Penguapan air dalam wadah tertutup pada suhu
tertentu merupakan contoh kesetimbangan fisis.
Dalam kasus ini, molekul H20 yang meninggalkan dan
yang kembali ke fasa cair sama banyaknya.

Pada suhu 0°C, jumlah molekul air yang menjadi es sama dengan jumlah molekul
air saat es mencair membentuk air cair. Laju pembekuan air sama dengan laju
pencairan es. Dengan demikian, terjadi keseimbangan antara es padat dan air cair

2. Kesetimbangan zat terlarut-padat
Ketika zat terlarut dalam larutan jenuh
bersentuhan dengan zat terlarut yang tidak larut,
jumlah molekul yang keluar (disimpan) dari
larutan sama dengan jumlah molekul yang
masuk (melarutkan) dari padatan ke dalam
cairan. Jadi zat terlarut dalam suatu larutan
berada dalam kesetimbangan dengan zat padat
yang tidak larut.

3. Kesetimbangan zat gas-cair
Gas yang tidak bereaksi dengan cairan dapat larut
secara langsung berkaitan dengan tekanan dalam
cairan.Dalam wadah tertutup, terjadi kesetimbangan
antara gas yang berada di dalam zat cair dengan
gas yang berada di atas zat cair. Pada minuman
bersoda misalnya, gas karbon dioksida di dalam
cairan berada dalam kesetimbangan dengan gas di
ruang kosong wadah.

Pertimbangkan es dan air dalam termos yang terisolasi sempurna pada suhu 0°C di atmosfer terbuka. Tidak akan ada
perubahan pada kadar air dan jumlah es, yang berarti laju perpindahan molekul dari air ke es sama dengan laju
perpindahan molekul dari es ke air.Oleh karena itu, kita dapat menyimpulkan bahwa sistem ini berada dalam kondisi

sebaliknya.Secara teknis kita dapat mengatakan bahwa laju penguapan (cair menjadi uap) sama dengan laju
kondensasi (uap menjadi cair), sehingga mencapai kondisi tunak. Persamaan ini dapat diwakili oleh persamaan berikut:

Kesetimbangan seperti ini hanya dapat terjadi pada kasus sublimat (zat padat langsung berubah menjadi uap).
Pertimbangkan untuk memanaskan yodium padat dalam wadah tertutup. Perlahan-lahan, wadah tersebut terisi uap
berwarna ungu, dan intensitas warnanya meningkat seiring berjalannya waktu.Setelah waktu tertentu, intensitas warna
tidak berubah seiring waktu. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa keadaan tunak dicapai ketika laju sublimasi yodium padat
sama dengan laju pengendapan uap yodium

8. Kebanyakan reaksi kimia berlangsung bukan antara padatan murni,
cairan murni, atau gas murni, melainkan antara ion-ion dan molekul-molekul yang
terlarut dalam air atau pelarut lain. Kita telah melihat bahwa larutan ialah campuran
homogen dari dua zat atau lebih. Karena definisi ini tidak menyatakan batasan
mengenai jenis zat yang terlibat, kita dapat membedakan enam jenis larutan,
bergantung pada wujud asal (padatan, cairan, atau gas) komponen larutan.
Kimiawan juga membedakan larutan berdasarkan kemampuannya
melarutkan zat terlarut yaitu :
● Larutan yang mengandung jumlah maksimum zat terlarut di dalam pelarut, pada
suhu tertentu, dinamakan larutan jenuh (saturated solution).
● Sebelum titik jenuh tercapai, larutannya disebut larutan takjenuh (unsaturated
solution). Larutan ini mengandung zat terlarut lebih sedikit dibandingkan dengan
kemampuannya untuk melarutkan.
● Jenis ketiga, larutan lewat jenuh (supersaturated solution), mengandung lebih
banyak zat terlarut dibandingkan yang terdapat di dalam larutan jenuh.

terikat akibat adanya tarik-menarik antart-nolekul.
Gaya ini juga memainkan peranan penting dalam
pembentukan larutan. Bila suatu zat (zat terlarut)

akan menyebar ke seluruh pelarut. Partikel zat
terlarut ini menempati posisi yang biasanya
ditempati oleh molekul pelarut. Kemudahan partikel

interaksi:
