This document discusses the author's learning about various technologies through constructing a media project. Before the project, the author was unfamiliar with Macs, Photoshop, InDesign, Blogger and Prezi. The author found these new programs intimidating at first but learned how to use their various tools and features. Photoshop allowed image editing, InDesign facilitated magazine page creation, Blogger served as a platform to post work, and Prezi provided an alternative way to present information. Overall, working on the project helped the author gain valuable skills with different technologies.

1. What Have You Learnt About
Technologies From The Process Of
Constructing This Product?
2. What I Knew Before
• Before this media project, I knew how to take photographs and use simple
editing skills on these photographs. However, I was not at all skilled in how
to operate MACs or use programmes such as Photoshop or In Design- I
had not come across these programmes before. Due to this, I initially found
it difficult and quite intimidating to have to adapt to these new programmes
and machines.
• Also, I did not know how to use sites such as Blogger or Prezi, as I had
never encountered them before in school or at home. Therefore, I did not
know how to negotiate my way around these sites and therefore did not
realise the full potential and benefits of using such technology.
3. Photoshop
This is the canvas where
everything is constructed and

all my images while editing and
cutting them out.
The colour and stroke panel
allows you to apply

to add a more professional

4. In Design
This panel can be used to alter the
stroke used, e.g. creating gradients
for text to make them appear faded
and create a more professional
image.
I have used In design
throughout this project to
assemble all images, shapes
and text on one page so that I
was able to construct a front

5. Blogger
This top panel allows you to view the different
elements involved within your posts, e.g.
comments made on posts, and the settings on
your blogger site.
The title of your posts will be created in this box.

6. Prezi
This cluster of tools allows you to either add

on your prezi- allowing you to
easily navigate around the site.
When using Prezi, I initially found it
hard to master the navigation of the site.
