The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.

2. Video Editing Print Screen
In order to have successfully edited my video sequence and managed to get a
desired result I have used the Vegas Pro video editor. I found it to be the most
suitable software for my work. Vegas Pro’s flexible interface combined with it’s
wide range of innovative and valuable tools, allowed me to shift the entirety of my
precious focus to the creative section instead of the more technically advanced
segments.
3. - I got the opportunity to learn how to use the following tools and techniques:
Transitions, export, rendering, import, mark point, setting point, image scaling, mark
in, mark out and colour corrections.
- After having imported raw footage and collected the initial video continuity
sequence, I arranged the images in a desired chronological order.
- The mark in and mark out tools were used as to show specific shots. Once the initial
editing stages were over, I used special effects, colour correction and image speed
in order to further develop the the video sequence. As for transitions, I used fade in,
fade out, dissolve and straightforward cut.
- Once a pleasing structure had been achieved, it was time for me to put my
knowledge of noise reduction and sound editing to use in order to achieve decent
dialog clarity.
- At this progressive stage of video editing, I had to focus on the design of the caption
and text. I used pre-designed templates due to the time constraint. At the concluding
video editing stage, I used a free copyright music sample to boost the viewing
experience.
4. If I had to do this again I would:
- Give more effort towards sound reduction since it was filmed in a public place
and the video sequence was impacted by the surrounding noise. Additionally,
it would be beneficial to sharpen my skills on sound editing.
- Rather than implementing templates which have been pre-designed, I would
prefer to construct and consequently apply my very own design.
- Additionally, more effective management of my time.
- Pay more attention to transitions since some did not appear well connected
and some lacked continuity.
- The editing would have went smoother if we had practiced working with our
equipment (camera and tripod) and planned everything thoroughly
beforehand.
5. - Editing was not much of as struggle, however there were times where some
improvising had to be done - parts with lack of continuity and parts that were
out of focus.
