Handheld Camera: Panasonic HDC-SD700
I have chosen to film my production using the Panasonic HDC-SD700 handheld camera. I used
this specific camera last year when filming my film opening sequence. Therefore, this will enable
me to capture footage efficiently as I have pre-existing knowledge of how to use it.
This particular camera has the capability of shooting in 1080p HD which will provide me with
high quality footage that has a professional feel. It is also easy to use which is effective for me as
I have not had much experience with filmmaking in the past (other than producing my AS Media
film production).
The Panasonic HDC-SD700 has a high quality zoom which will be useful in creating professional,
focused shots.
Tripod: Velbon CX 888
I shall use a tripod for the majority of my scenes I will film, enabling me to create steady and
focused shots. My footage will therefore appear more professional than if I had filmed handheld
shots (which would appear unsteady).
This particular tripod has a 3 way pan tilt head allowing for accessibility and more options for
filming. The grip on this tripod allows for easily executed shots which will create steady pans,
although it also has an easily detachable function which will allow me to remove the camera
and experiment with a range of handheld shots.
Apple iMac: 27 inch
As well as using an iMac to record my progression through each stage of the research and
planning, production and editing processes on Blogger, I shall also use this platform to edit and
distribute my final production. The 27inch iMac with superb processor will ensure reliable
performance and will allow for ease of editing.
This particular iMac has a 4k retina display; this would show my film in the highest quality
possible so I could see a full perspective of my shots. The high definition screens will allow me to
spot minor issues in my film during the editing process, and will therefore help me to
successfully edit my film during the post production stage.
Editing Software: Adobe Premiere Pro
Unlike last year where I edited my film using iMovie, I decided to instead edit my film trailer
using Premiere Pro.
This industry standard editing software would allow for an entirely professional quality of film
and will allow me to refine my editing more so than if I were to use iMovie. For example, this
editing software in particular has an extensive range of tools and features which will enable
effective editing in my final product.
