Dave wants to join their school’s basketball team. However,
he came home crying.
Mother: Son, what happened?
Dave: I did not qualify for our school’s basketball team.

Mother: And?
Dave: Try again tomorrow.

Dave: I got low grades in our math quiz today, Mom.

Dave: I can always do better.

Dave: Try again tomorrow.
6. Mother: Come on, let us eat merienda.
Dave: Thanks, Mom.
Mother: Do not worry. I will help you study later.
Dave continued to practice playing basketball every
weekend. He also put in extra effort to study math.
7. At the end of the school year, Dave was awarded
“Best in Math”. In April, he joined the tryout and became
part of the team. He was very thankful that he listened to
his mom. He worked hard and never lost hope.
