3. Magazine Cover
Description: Design a magazine cover that show-
cases a self-portrait as well as headlines for the maga-
zine.
Date: September 28, 2016
Programs Used: Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
Objective:Create a magazine cover that has a co-
hesive theme and design.
Process:First I sketched my possible covers.Then I
made a shape map in InDesign of one of the sketches.I
then went to the Rexburg Temple and got a roommate
to use my camera and take a picture of me for the
cover.I then used Photoshop to edit the photo as well
as mask the “G” in the vogue title.Then I opened InDe-
sign and placed my PSD onto the new document.Next
I placed the text boxes for my titles and decided on my
color scheme and the fonts and widths on the cover.
4. Brochure
Description: Design a brochure for a company.
Date: November 30, 2016
Programs Used: Adobe llustrator, InDesign, and
Photoshop
Objective: Design a tri-fold brochure by using de-
sign elements and tools from the Adobe programs.
Process: I first created the logo in Illustrator.Then I
went into InDesign and started to design my brochure.
I had to really learn how to use the program to create
a trifold brochure.I really focused on making a cohe-
sive design with color and fonts.I edited pictures in pho-
toshop as well as found some from pixabay.com.I ed-
ited pictures in photoshop as well as found some from
pixabay.com.I then exported the brochure document.
To create a tri-fold brochure to communicate a mes-
sage clearly using the Adobe tools.
5. Photodesign
Description: By using photography and design
skills, create a project that contains a consistent color
scheme from the image and a title message.
Date: October 12, 2016
Programs Used: Adobe Photoshop
Objective:Combine photograhy with design.
Process:First I took my picture of my roommate in the gar-
dens. I just met her this Fall and I was lucky to have her be
willing to model for this project.I did a lot to edit the photo.
I did the four basic edits plus some skin smoothing and I also
pulled some highlights into the hair. I also enhanced the colors
of the background to be less “dying fall” to summer or spring
time.I then started to design my layout and color scheme. I
added the main title and it’s design features as well as the
color scheme swatches.Then after the Facebook critique I
moved the swatches up and adjusted some coloring and
made the logo bigger, as well as enhance the honeycomb.
6. Montage
Description: Design a spiritual poster montage us-
ing the blend of images and type.
Date: October 19, 2016
Programs Used: Adobe Photoshop
Objective: By using Photoshop, convey a visual and
written spiritual message.
Process:As I looked through pictures on www.un-
splash.com, I saw the main picture of the town that I
eventually chose to use. When I saw how beautiful it
looked, I immediately thought of the quote from Elder
Wirthlin.I combined all the pictures I wanted to use in
my project in Photoshop.I used layer masks and the
brush tool to create the gradual blended effect of the
clouds and sky.I then added the quote to the picture.
After I chose the color scheme for the words, I added
elements that tied the words into the background.
7. Web Page Mockup
Description:Design a website homepage using a
grid.
Date: November 16, 2016
Programs Used: Adobe Photoshop
Objective:Through using a grid and Adobe pro-
grams to create a mockup of a photography website.
Process:I decided on what I was going to use for the
basis of my website. I chose to do a photography web
page.I then started sketching an idea of how I wanted
to lay it out. I looked up inspiration.After I sketched it
on paper, I went to photoshop and created my shape
map.After my wireframe, I started to add the actual
content. I then submitted my draft for feedback.My
final design ended up being a little different from my
original sketch and wireframe as I saw that I needed a
footer as well as more length to the page.
8. Infographic
Description: Create an infographic that organizes
data in a visually pleasing way.
Date: November 2, 2016
Programs Used: Adobe Illustrator
Objective:To use Illustrator to create an useful and
well-desiged inforgraphic to tell of Apple’s success.
Process:I first brainstormed and ended up with a re-
latable topic and rough draft.Then when I submitted it,
I took the critique and fixed it but I just didn’t feel as in-
terested in the topic.I ended up researching and brain-
storming again and deciding to change focuses and
go with something relevant and relatable. I found my
graphics and started designing a new layout and idea.
Then arranged everything to be cohesive (color
schemes) and also used repeating elements in graph-
ics, design, fonts, and colors.

9. Prezi
Description: Create an instructional presentation
using the Prezi software to demonstrate it’s features
and capabilities.
Date: October 5, 2016
Programs Used: Prezi
Objective:Create and manipulate design on Prezi.
Process:I had to get used to using Prezi for most of
the beginning of the project. I went through a few tuto-
rials and videos on how to create the end product that
I wanted.I first picked my topic and made my sketch.I
found my background and main image of the wifi sign
from royalty free websites.I then started placing things
into Prezi and adding my content.Once hearing the
teacher critique, I went into the Prezi and worked out
the things I needed to change and alter. (contrasting
fonts, colors, and aligning)
10. Business Identity
Description: Create a logo for a company/service/
organization and establish a visual identity across doc-
uments.
Date: October 26, 2016
Programs Used: Adobe Illustrator and InDesign
Objective:Use Adobe programs to create logos and
design documents that are cohesive enough to be a
brand.
Process:Sketched out logo options on paper. I then
got critique and suggestions from classmates.Opened
Illustrator and started creating sketches into digital
form.Picked my favorite design.Created business card
and letterhead.Took teacher critique into consideration.
11. Coding
Description: Code a custom webpage with HTML
and CSS.
Date: November 9, 2016
Programs Used: Adobe Illustrator, Text Wrangler
Objective:To create a custom webpage through us-
ing html and css and combining design elements and
skills from Adobe tools.
Process:First I created my logo in Illustrator. I de-
cided to use a play on words with my friends name
“Reyna”.I resized my logo.I created my HTML file and
started adding my content and tags.Then I created my
CSS file and linked it.I made customizations in my CSS
to match the colors in my logo and changed the fonts
as well as all the other required changes.I created the
background by using transparent pattern over my cho-
sen color.I then validated my HTML and CSS.
12. Graduation
Announcement
Description: Make a graduation announcement
with design as well as take the photo, edit it, and plan
a cohesive color scheme.
Date: December 7, 2016
Programs Used: Adobe Photoshop, Canon T3i
Objective:To create a graduation announcement for
a client as well as use photography skills.
Process:I first had the photoshoot with my client.
Then I took the pictures, went through them, edited se-
lected ones (around 70 pictures total), then I chose one
to include in this project. I then opened photoshop and
designed a cohesive and visually pleasing announce-
ment for her, since she is a high school senior.
