This document discusses port and destination development for cruise tourism in the Baltic region. It provides an agenda that covers news about ports in Skagen, Copenhagen, and Malmo, as well as challenges related to legislative environment and waste reception. It also discusses economic impact studies and guest satisfaction. The director of Cruise Baltic and Cruise Copenhagen Network then outlines strategies to address waste reception facilities and compliance with regulations, as well as the potential impacts of emission control areas being established in 2015.
ABSTRACT: This paper presents an evaluative research of the problems related to the logistics, operational bottlenecks and constraints of the Nacala Development Corridor. It sets forth the status quo, reviews the related literature and evaluates the modus operandi. The paper concludes with recommendations of remedial actions and areas for further research.

The Role of Private Off Dock Terminals on Port Efficiency (A Study of Sifax O...Dr. Amarjeet Singh
This study examines the role of private off dock
terminal in enhancing port efficiency in Nigeria; the
purpose of the study is to examine the extent to which
private off-dock terminals have contributed to the efficiency
of ports in Nigeria with respect to cargo clearance and
forwarding, questionnaires were administered and review
has been carried out to obtain primary data collection. A
total of 100 questionnaires were administered to
respondents and related literatures have been used for
secondary data. A survey design method was adopted for
the study. The statistical tools employed in analyzing the
analysis are simple percentage; tables and hypothesis were
tested using chi-square. Based on the findings, private off
dock terminal has not really impacted on Lagos port over
the last five years based on the cargo volume handled by
them. It also reveals that private off dock terminal is facing
problem in its implementation in Nigeria such as the
availability of railway connectivity and inadequate finance
and also the inconsistencies of government policies in line
with off dock operations. The findings also reveals that the
cost of clearing cargo at terminal is high compared to main
ports. To this end the study recommended that reductions
of chargers on cargo clearance and terminal handling of
cargoes should be looked into by private off dock owners,
government should ensure railway connectivity form port to
off dock terminals, policies should be enacted, which will
ensure efficient operations of private off dock terminal in
Nigeria.

This, the third iteration of the Global Pricing Comparator Study (GPCS) looking at 2014 port tariffs, which was published previously for 2012 and 2013, serves to confirm the overall results from the previous versions of the report.
The overall structure of the South African port pricing system has changed somewhat on a relative level, however, despite large decreases in container cargo dues and export automotives announced in the 2013/14 Record of Decision as well as relative changes in marine services and dry bulk commodities in the following year, the imbalances remain.
The results show that significant potential cross-subsidisation from cargo owners towards primary exporters and vessel owners in the NPA tariff structure persist.
Although this has improved over the period the study has been conducted, cargo owners still face a 388% premium in 2014/15, although down from a premium of 874% to the global sample average in 2012/13.
While vessel owners face costs below the global sample average (-26% in 2012/13, -32% in 2013/14 and -42% in 2014/15), the total NPA costs to users in container ports comes at a still high premium of 125% above the global sample average (similar results for the automotive sector applies) whilst the report shows that bulk commodities are charged much lower total port costs than the global sample averages.
Introduction to Floating Storage & Regasification Unit (FSRU)petroEDGE
Over the next 2 or 3 decades it is predicted that gas usage will grow at a much faster rate than oil and become the dominant energy source. Up to some 40% of gas comes from Offshore Fields. The transport of gas in the form of LNG is growing very fast – particularly for longer distance export routes. New offshore opportunities for gas production are being developed with the new technologies of Floating LNG (FLNG).
Inshore or Offshore FSRU’s provide safe, strategic and good location for the receiving terminals for LNG and provide the conversion of the methane from the liquid phase back to the gaseous phase to direct consumer usage.
This 2 day training course covers Gas and LNG activities – their Supply Chain from Onshore and Offshore Gas Fields to Market, with FSRU’s providing the last step by converting the LNG back to usable methane gas for local supply and use. Case Studies and videos will be used to illustrate lessons learned from past successful projects. A DVD of the powerpoint presentation and numerous Industry videos will be distributed with the lecture materials.

Unveiling the Secrets How Does Generative AI Work.pdfSam H
At its core, generative artificial intelligence relies on the concept of generative models, which serve as engines that churn out entirely new data resembling their training data. It is like a sculptor who has studied so many forms found in nature and then uses this knowledge to create sculptures from his imagination that have never been seen before anywhere else. If taken to cyberspace, gans work almost the same way.

In this deck, you will learn the significance of workplace discipline for organisational success. You’ll also learn
• Four (4) workplace discipline methods you should consider
• The best and most practical approach to implementing workplace discipline.
• Three (3) key tips to maintain a disciplined workplace.

29. Deployment impact
of ECA 2015
No easy answer…………….
• Many different operators – Many different strategies
30. Emission Control Area 2015
• Many different operators – Many different strategies:
- Different source markets
- Fly-Cruise (US, Italy, Spain, France)
- EX-UK-Germany-Holland cruising
- Large vs. Small operators
- Ship efficiency and technology
- Destination focused ships
- Competitive considerations based on market share/source markets
+ Cost of fuel in St. Petersburg…………..
31. Emission Control Area 2015
statements from operators
“Deployment 2015 is not fully closed yet, but plans are currently similar to 2014
regarding number of port, calls and itineraries”
“We will reduce capacity in NE, but not in the Baltic.
We will slow down ships in ECA, but increase length of stay in ports. We have ships
that are less effected by ECA and we are still in the process of making that puzzle”
“2015 won’t be much different to 2013, 2014.
Looking at scrubber solution before we can confirm future deployment”
“Not final decision yet.
We may remove one ship in 2015, but that decision is not linked to ECA”
32. Emission Control Area 2015
“We may have to skip the Baltic for the 2015 season due to our tonnage.
We would like to offer the Baltic to our guests again in 2016 though”
“We will continue with ”X ship” again in 2015, but in addition to our Baltic Sea
Cruises we may offer a few Norwegian cruises as well.
We finalize deployment early November”
“We will finalize Baltic itineraries for 2015 at a meeting tomorrow and I expect that
the Baltics will come out better than 2014 despite ECA regulations”
“We will certainly be trading in the Baltic in 2015.
We have just started the process of scheduling, and I will get back asap with an
indication, since impact of the ECA is still being worked out”
“2015 is still in discussion – i.e. I don’t have proper numbers so far.
But I don’t expect major changes in volume”.
