15.06.05 Using web and social media metrics to measure success and drive digi...kevin_donovan
1) The document discusses using web and social media metrics to measure the success of digital strategies and drive improvements.
2) It provides an overview of the key elements of a web and social media strategy, including defining goals, target audiences, and measurable usability objectives.
3) The document emphasizes analyzing metrics in relation to goals, such as driving targeted traffic, understanding useful content, and persuading visitors to take desired actions, in order to identify ways to inform decision-making and site improvements.
An off-the-shelf online information literacy assessment tool called Research Readiness Self-Assessment (RRSA) was used at Cardiff University and Swansea University to help research students evaluate their own information literacy skills. The RRSA was designed by librarians and psychologists to provide individualized feedback and training recommendations based on students' results. At both universities, participation was encouraged through various means. Analysis showed that students tended to overestimate or underestimate certain skills. Students who took the RRSA were nearly twice as likely to attend library training. While feedback was seen as helpful, some students felt it could be more specific. The RRSA was viewed as a useful tool but not necessarily needed by all students.
The document outlines the next steps for developing an apprenticeships toolkit over the coming months, which includes:
1) Continuing consultation and user testing on the draft toolkit from May to August to identify any gaps. Over 100 stakeholders provided feedback through interviews and workshops.
2) Redesigning the toolkit as an interactive website from September to December with a web design team. Volunteers are needed for user testing.
3) Conducting exploratory research into higher and degree apprenticeships from October to January.

Transforming Education through Disruptive TechnologiesAspire Systems
IT budget cuts post-recession have forced education CIO’s to increase dependence on emerging cost-effective technologies like collaboration platforms, web based applications and the now buzzed Cloud Computing. However, the technology invasion in education is still nascent and various revolutionary concepts, like augmented reality and semantic web, are on the verge of becoming mainstream.
To penetrate beyond the inevitable hype and disruption, this webinar will be looking at the following:
- The best emerging technologies that education software providers should invest in
- Technologies recommended for classroom adoption among educational institutions
- Effects of adopting such disruptive technologies
- Obtaining the best out of established technologies

MADLaT 2016 Open Badges - Making Learning Visible Don Presant
Open Badges are gaining acceptance as eCredentials by educators, professional bodies and employers around the world because they enable better ways to map, recognize and share learning, including informal learning. Quality Open Badges are trustable tokens of skills and achievements that can be shared in e-portfolios, talent pipelines and social media. Open Badges are modular and “stackable”: they can be linked together into flexible development pathways and can support Competency Based Education and learning transfer.
This fast-paced presentation lores global practices in Open Badge systems using living examples and case studies, inside and outside formal education.
This document proposes the development of a learning management system called Designgyan.com to share study and research materials among design colleges in India. It would provide a centralized platform for students and faculty to upload and access course content like PDFs, presentations, designs and videos. This system aims to save students' time and costs by providing resources otherwise difficult to access. It would encourage collaboration through communication tools like email notifications, discussion boards and blogs. The document outlines requirements, deliverables, advantages and constraints of the proposed system.
The document discusses strategies from a strategic technology plan to transform the community and technical college system in Washington state through leveraging technology. The five strategies include: creating online teaching and learning tools; creating a seamless online student services system; creating lifelong learning for faculty and staff; using data to drive improvement; and treating information technology as a centrally funded service. It also discusses recommendations around open educational resources, the role of bookstores in providing open textbooks, and legislation related to online learning.

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

HCL Notes and Domino License Cost Reduction in the World of DLAUpanagenda
Webinar Recording: https://www.panagenda.com/webinars/hcl-notes-and-domino-license-cost-reduction-in-the-world-of-dlau/
The introduction of DLAU and the CCB & CCX licensing model caused quite a stir in the HCL community. As a Notes and Domino customer, you may have faced challenges with unexpected user counts and license costs. You probably have questions on how this new licensing approach works and how to benefit from it. Most importantly, you likely have budget constraints and want to save money where possible. Don’t worry, we can help with all of this!
We’ll show you how to fix common misconfigurations that cause higher-than-expected user counts, and how to identify accounts which you can deactivate to save money. There are also frequent patterns that can cause unnecessary cost, like using a person document instead of a mail-in for shared mailboxes. We’ll provide examples and solutions for those as well. And naturally we’ll explain the new licensing model.
Join HCL Ambassador Marc Thomas in this webinar with a special guest appearance from Franz Walder. It will give you the tools and know-how to stay on top of what is going on with Domino licensing. You will be able lower your cost through an optimized configuration and keep it low going forward.
These topics will be covered
- Reducing license cost by finding and fixing misconfigurations and superfluous accounts
- How do CCB and CCX licenses really work?
- Understanding the DLAU tool and how to best utilize it
- Tips for common problem areas, like team mailboxes, functional/test users, etc
- Practical examples and best practices to implement right away

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
Why You Should Replace Windows 11 with Nitrux Linux 3.5.0 for enhanced perfor...SOFTTECHHUB
