These are colour schemes from popular
Burton films, all his films a have similar
colours so I want to try keep a similar
colour theme to my documentary.
This is Burtons original sketch for Edward
Scissorhands, I think this would be a cool
thing to incorporate into my
documentary.
These drawings aren't by Tim
Burton, but I think they are
similar kind of style and look
like some of the characters in
his movies.
This is a
Burtonesque style
drawing inspired
by his classic art
style of very
skinny almost
stick figure like
characters with
big dark eyes and
messy hair.
I thought these pictures were very
Burtonesque and all looked like they
could be a scene in his movie.
This is a collection of Tim Burton's most
well-known characters this shows his
range of work and how impactful he has
been in the film industry.
This is the most
famouse scene of
any Tim Burton film
The Nightmare
Before Christmas
and one of the
most famous
scenes from an
animated movie.
The documentary is about how
all burton films look like they
are all set in the same universe
very similar to the Marvel
Cinematic Universe
One of Tim Burton's
own drawings from
his book called The
Napkin Art of Tim
Burton.
Content: The documentary will start with a quick introduction about how Tim Burton is known for his gothic fantasy
style with a timeline graphic appearing on screen of all his movies. It will then cut to summers interview with them
talking about Burtons film style and how all his films look like they all coexist in the same universe, I will switch between
two different camera positions for the interview to add some variance between the shots. I am going to film the
interview on a white back drop with some dark Ish lighting to fit Tim Burton's dark aesthetic in his films. I will make and
outro using some clips from Burtons most famous movies like; The Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, Edward
Scissorhands and Corpse Bride.

Fri 5th Edit whole documentary together and finish
Planning:
The intro starts with a timeline of all of Tim Burton's movies
with a voice over saying who he is and how he has a unique
style.
I will be interviewing my friend who is a big Tim burton fan for
the documentary.
I will show scenes from different burton movies that are
relevant to what Summer is talking about.
I will try to edit a scene from one of the movies so the next
word in the interview is the last word of the quote in the
movie.
It will cut back to the end of the interview with summer.
The outro will be a montage of some of the most memorable
and recognisable scenes from Burton's movies.

This is an example of what the timeline graphic is
going to look like whole. I will use aftereffects to make
the graphic so it zoomes in on each of the movies in
order. In the documentary there will be a voice over
saying who tim burton is while this is on screen.

  • 1. Factual: Idea Development and Planning Hope Smith
  • 2. Mood board (or other idea development work): These are colour schemes from popular Burton films, all his films a have similar colours so I want to try keep a similar colour theme to my documentary. This is Burtons original sketch for Edward Scissorhands, I think this would be a cool thing to incorporate into my documentary. These drawings aren't by Tim Burton, but I think they are similar kind of style and look like some of the characters in his movies. This is a Burtonesque style drawing inspired by his classic art style of very skinny almost stick figure like characters with big dark eyes and messy hair. I thought these pictures were very Burtonesque and all looked like they could be a scene in his movie. This is a collection of Tim Burton's most well-known characters this shows his range of work and how impactful he has been in the film industry. This is the most famouse scene of any Tim Burton film The Nightmare Before Christmas and one of the most famous scenes from an animated movie. The documentary is about how all burton films look like they are all set in the same universe very similar to the Marvel Cinematic Universe One of Tim Burton's own drawings from his book called The Napkin Art of Tim Burton.
  • 3. Content: The documentary will start with a quick introduction about how Tim Burton is known for his gothic fantasy style with a timeline graphic appearing on screen of all his movies. It will then cut to summers interview with them talking about Burtons film style and how all his films look like they all coexist in the same universe, I will switch between two different camera positions for the interview to add some variance between the shots. I am going to film the interview on a white back drop with some dark Ish lighting to fit Tim Burton's dark aesthetic in his films. I will make and outro using some clips from Burtons most famous movies like; The Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands and Corpse Bride.

  • 5. Planning: The intro starts with a timeline of all of Tim Burton's movies with a voice over saying who he is and how he has a unique style. I will be interviewing my friend who is a big Tim burton fan for the documentary. I will show scenes from different burton movies that are relevant to what Summer is talking about. I will try to edit a scene from one of the movies so the next word in the interview is the last word of the quote in the movie. It will cut back to the end of the interview with summer. The outro will be a montage of some of the most memorable and recognisable scenes from Burton's movies.

I will use aftereffects to make the graphic so it zoomes in on each of the movies in order. In the documentary there will be a voice over saying who tim burton is while this is on screen.
  • 7. script • What is it about Tim burton movies that personally make you love them? • Why do you think Burton movies are always so popular and enjoyable for everyone? • Which are your favourite movies, and do they have any connections to eachother ? • What do you think about the Tim Burton universe(the idea of how all his movies look like they're set in the same world and could interlock) • What impact do you think he has had on the film industry as a whole? • Has Tim Burton inspired any of your own work being an artist yourself?

  1. You could create a mood board of images related to your product. They could be inspirational or visually interesting. Analyse what you have gathered.
