Tim Burton is an American film director known for films combining gothic fiction and fantasy like Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, and Alice in Wonderland. He develops creepy characters through sketches which are translated into stop motion or human actors. Edward Scissorhands tells the story of an artificial man with scissors for hands who is taken in by a suburban family. Nightmare Before Christmas was Burton's first stop motion film where he hand crafted dolls across seven scenes.

2. WHO IS TIM BURTON
 Tim Burton is an American film director best known for films
such as Nightmare before Christmas, Edward scissorhands, The
Corpse bride and more recent films such as Frankenweenie and Dark
Shadows he is extremely well known for combining styles such as
gothic fiction and fantasy which has know formed in to his own style.

3. WHAT I S THE TIM BURTON STYLE?
 Tim Burtons characters all have the same creepy style which is
very individual to Tim Burton the way in which he creates these
characters is started of with a sketch. This will then either turn into
his stop motion characters or he will translate them onto a human
canvas.

6. EDWARD SCISSORHANDS
 Edward Scissorhands is a 1990 American romantic dark fantasy film. The film shows
the story of an artificial man named Edward, an unfinished creation who has scissors for
hands. Edward is taken in by a suburban family and falls in love with their teenage
daughter Kim. This particular film is known as Burton and Elfmans most personal and
favourite work, it was Burtons fourth film were he both directed and produced it along
side Danny Elfman who did the music.

7. NIGHTMARE BEFORE
CHRISTMAS
 Nightmare before Christmas is an 1993 American stop motion musical
fantasy directed by Henry selick and produced/co-written by Tim Burton.
It tells the story of Jack Skellington, a being from "Halloween Town" who
opens a portal to "Christmas Town" and decides to celebrate the holiday,
with some dastardly and comical consequences. This film is extremely
well known for being Tim Burtons first stop motion classic were he hand
crafted many dolls and had seven different scenes working at once .

8. BEETLEJIUCE
 One of Burtons most well known classics the plot revolves around a
recently deceased young couple who become ghosts haunting their former
home and an obnoxious, devious ghost named Beetlejuice from the
Netherworld who tries to scare away the new inhabitants permanently.
Beetlejuice was a financial and critical success, grossing $73.7 million from a
budget of $15 million. It won the Academy Award for Best Makeup and
three Saturn Awards: Saturn Award for Best Film and Best makeup.

9. ALICE IN WONDERLAND
 Alice in wonderland being one of Burtons more recent films is now widely
renowned for its exquisite animation for characters such as the red queen, the
mad hatter and the most impressive one the huntsmen, where he animated the
whole of the huntsmens body and had no costume to work with. This also
translated into the setting how everythings very much like Tim Burtons
artwork and that was all done through animation.
