2. What are you making? For this specific project, I have decided to make a short film. The product contains a
YouTube vlogger vlogging for his YouTube channel and just minding his business in York, when all of a sudden
things start make a turn for the worst, he starts to encounter supernatural events whilst walking round the
shambles late at night. The product will be mainly filmed in the format of a vlog, especially the beginning. The
product will then change formats when the supernatural events start happening to the main character, he will
decided he wants to put he camera down as he is getting scared. This will then allow me to vary my shot type.
Why? I decided on this product as I really wanted to indulge in the horror genre. This is because I love this
area of film and I am also very interested to figure out how it is made. I want to really improve my skills in
this specific area as in the future I will definitely be making more horror based films. I also decided to film a
large amount of my product in the format of a vlog. This is because I wanted to do something different and try
to push myself with different formats of film. I thought that this format would bring a different and unique
side of film out in my product.
Who is it for? My product is aimed at both genders in the age range of 16-24. This is because I am aiming to
target that age range anyway but my audience research also proved that my genre of film will definitely
attract my audience. I feel my product will target both genders however, it may appeal to females slightly ore
as if is a vlogger and stereotypically females watch YouTube vloggers more than the male demographic.
Where will it appear? The product will appear on social media platforms like YouTube. This is because this will
fit and appear to my target demographic perfectly as this is the media platform they use the most. It is also
very accessible for everyone especially my target audience as they are always on their mobile phones.

8. My script is not very long as when the scary events
start happening, there isn't much dialogue only
sound effects and noises from the actor. There army
be the odd word or phrase but I felt there was no
need to script this as it will most likely been
improvisation. I decided to not include much
dialogue in the scarier sequences as I felt dialogue
would decreases the intensity and suspense in the
scenes. The idea of it being very quite crates an
immense amount of suspense leaving the audience
gripped to the product and making the overall
product more scary.

13. I want to add a sort of dark blue colour to my product. This will be done in post production. I want to include
this colour as the colour can create different atmospheres with different people. The colour can create a sense
of hope and stability. This is good as it leaves a slight sense of hope for the main character in my product whilst
he is in danger. However, I am mainly wanting to use this colour for its negative connotations as it can relate
to the idea of sadness and depression. The colour will not be the most prominent colour however, it will still be
included in the product. The colour blue will most likely appear near the start of the product. This is because
this is where the most positive aspect of the product will be. As well as that, this is where the product will be
filmed in good light therefore the blue colour will be visible.
I want to include the colour grey in my product. This is because the colour has very prominent negative
connotations like loss and depression. It also creates an emotionless atmosphere therefore foreshadowing the
evil spirit included in my product. The colour overall just creates a very dark and negative atmosphere which is
exactly what I need for my product to look effective.
The colour black is definitely necessary for my product. Firstly, the colour black is highly related with the
horror genre. This is because of the negative connotations the colour creates like the idea of death and evil. As
well as that, it highly resembles the idea of mystery which fits in perfectly with my product. The colour is
linked with the night as well which is the time I am basing my product therefore the colour must be included.

14. For my Locations for my product I firstly chose just an average street in York. I need the street to have a
few people walking round but it cant be too busy. I want all of these factors I want my product to look
realistic therefore the public will make it look like the main character is actually vlogging. This makes
the events which occur later more believable therefore gripping the audience more to the product. I need
the street to also have good lighting. This is because I am filming the day scenes in natural lighting
meaning that the lighting needs to look good, this is to make my product look as aesthetically pleasing as
possible. There will be a variety of different streets for the first scenes. This is so it appears that the
vlogger is actually waling around.
For my other location, I decided on the shambles and the little side streets within that. This is because
the high buildings and small streets will create a very tense atmosphere as the audience will almost feel
enclosed creating the idea of being trapped. The streets also do look quite stereotypically scary therefore,
they are a perfect place to film. I have decided I want to film down one of the side streets when the
supernatural events start to occur. This is because later on these should be very quiet which is exactly
what I need when filming. The ide of it being quite will create a very tense atmosphere leaving the
audience on the edge of their seats and fulfilling the products purpose.
