1. Plan for Ancillary Product
Date:
Monday 27th October
Ideas:
Magazine: The magazine photograph would be a long shot of Beth that would take up the whole of
the magazine. This long shot would have Beth holding the teddy and the note. Beth would be slightly
looking up and her hair would be around her face once again.
Poster: The image I will use for my magazine will be a close up of the main character Beth looking at
the camera. Beth’s hair will be surrounding her face and she will have a blank expression on her face
to show her possessive characteristics that are shown in the film. In the bottom corner some of the
note would also be visible to shows its significance within the film.
Locations:
For both of these images I will use the same location as the location is not something that will be
seen much within both pictures. I will set both pictures against a wall, however I would do these
shots at night so the darkness is surrounding her and you do not see the wall much. This low key
lighting is going to be the main focus within both my ancillary tasks. This will give the picture horror
connotations as it would show her psychotic character within our film and then this creates a link
from the film to the poster
Props and Costume:
In both the magazine and the poster I will ensure that the costume for my Beth is the same, this will
be the purple dress that she wears in the film after she has been taken over by the evil spirit. This
will create a clear link to the film and the ancillary products that I am creating. The makeup that Beth
will have on is also a key part of the ancillary product as she will have mascara coming down her face
and her face would also be very pale as this will add to the psychotic character she is portrayed like
within the film trailer. In both of the pictures I will be using the significant props that are present
within the trailer, however in the poster I will only show the note in the bottom corner but on the
magazine I will include both the teddy and the note to also create a link between the trailer and the
ancillary products
Equipment:
Camera
Tripod
Torch (To ensure her face is lit up in the photographs)
