The magazine will be called "FRET" which references a part of the guitar and fits with the rock music theme. It will cost £5 per issue which allows for higher production quality given it will be monthly rather than weekly. The target audience is musicians and fans who want to keep up with their favorite bands and read behind-the-scenes stories. Articles will profile well-known and up-and-coming bands, including those from talent shows.
Here I have analysed different Rock related contents pages and double page spread's so I could see how they were structured for the production of my own magazine.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

Digital Tools and AI for Teaching Learning and Research
Pitch1
1. The magazine’s name is ‘FRET’
This is the name for part of a guitar and is iconic within the rock scene.
The theme of the magazine is rock, this is because research shows this is popular with a young demographic and
there is a definite gasp in the market
The cover price of the magazine is £5. This is because the majority of people who answered the survey are happy to
pay between 1-2 pound on a music magazine but because they majority of people who answered the questionnaire
were happy with how often they could buy music magazines, which is usually monthly, because of this not being too
often the price can be higher as the quality of the paper and other materials used are better as not as many
magazines are being made. The price of £5 is a good price as a reader will only be buying the product once a month
where as if it was published every week the price would be lower but materials used will be of lower standard.
The magazine is aimed at musicians and people who enjoy reading and keeping up to date about their favourite
bands, singers and instrumentalists. This is because these will be my biggest audience. Aspects that will encourage
people who don’t often read the magazines will be included to encourage them to read the magazine more as there
is contents that they will enjoy.
The magazine will contain images and information about well known bands and upcoming stars who have done
things like the Xfactor. Bands from talent shows such as these shows are widely watched, therefore people want to
read behind the scenes stories.
2. CostumesActors/Models
Location
Props
What the models where is important as it
tells the reader a lot about them. For
example someone who is in a rock band
wouldn’t wear a floral dress as that is
more related with Genres of music such
as opera. The colours of the costumes
that the models in my magazine need to
compliments the colour scheme of my
magazine therefore the colours will be
black, white, purple and turquoise. The
makeup that is being worn must also
follow the colour scheme so that it does
not contrast badly.
The props in which the musicians will be
using will be instruments as it
compliments the theme. These
instruments will involve things such as
guitars, microphones, drums etc.. The
use of instruments keeps the theme of
rock running throughout the magazine
as these instruments are used in Rock
bands therefore compliment the theme.
When deciding on the location of where my
pictures are taken I need to take into
consideration the running theme of my
magazine, therefore the background will be
places like stages, instruments and other
Rock related places. I will also ensure that the
background fits in with the article, for
example if the article is about a band who is
touring Paris then in the background of those
images may be a landmark such as the Eiffel
Tower.
The Models will need to be musicians as
the magazine is a music magazine
therefore the models should fit the
theme in order for the magazines theme
to occur throughout all aspects of the
magazine. The way in which the models
are dressed tells the audience that they
are musicians, therefore I must carefully
select people who are clearly into music
and play. I will have a mixture of soloists
and bands as people like to here a
mixture of stories on their favourite
singers and instrumentalists. It also
allows there to be a mixture of people
to talk about, therefore adding texture
to the magazine.
3. Style sheet
Colour scheme
I have chosen these colours because they all
compliment one another and can be used
over each other without causing text or
images to blend in with the background. The
colours of the magazine will help my reader
to recognise my magazine on the shelves.

including the contents page. The
only pages that will have different

The colours and fonts of these will
be decided by the company that I’m
advertising for.
