2. Ashes Of Ham The Muslim Brotherhood
The novel Ashes of Hama: The Muslim Brotherhood in Syria attempts to bridge the gap of knowledge
towards the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood through an objectively comprehensive examination of the
political, historical, and ideological evolution of the party. Raphaël Lefèvre attempts to rectify the lack
of concrete knowledge through accessing the memoirs of two former Syrian jihadists (Mutafa
Setmarian Nasar and Ayman al Shorbaj) and creates a clear narrative of the events in chronological
order. This novel is essential for anyone seeking to understand the current Syrian conflict through the
lens of the development of the Muslim Brotherhood. Ashes of Hama: The Muslim Brotherhood in

allows for the development of the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood and their early days. The second
section entitled The Islamic Opposition to Ba athism, goes in depth into the political, economic, and
ideological subtleties fueling opposition between Islam and the Syrian Ba ath party. The proceeding
third segment, The rise of Jihadism in later 1970s Syria, examines the political and ideological
circumstances that gave rise to the jihadist trend in regards to the Brotherhood itself. The fourth and
final segmentation of the novel titled Ashes of Hama: The Syrian Islamist Movement since 1982, is
devoted to the consequences of the exile of the Muslim Brotherhoods after the Hama massacre, and
how it then evolved to become the regimes most powerful political opponent.
The infamous Hama Massacre occurred in February 1982 in the Syrian city of Hama. The Syrian
government forcibly crushed an uprising of Muslim rebels largely consisting of members of the
Muslim Brotherhood. The hostilities had augmented throughout the 1960s and 1970s with the Muslim
Brotherhood harassing the regime with hit and run style guerilla tactics and assassinations. The 1982
massacre marked the position of the Muslim Brotherhood when they stood their ground against the

Information that needs to be recorded should always be written in a legible manner.
Legible means clear, readable and understandable. It could be harmful to an individual if other people
cannot read what you have written, for example in a care plan about the way the individual is feeling.
Records must always be factual and not an opinion. They should include the correct date and a full
signature of the person writing the record. It is also recommended to use black ink. Some documents
will only accept black ink. Information must not be crossed out, or covered using correction fluid.
Always record any information given to you by an individual even if you think it is trivial because it
might help someone else. Always check an individual s care and support plan before working with
them as there may have been changes since you last worked with the individual, even if it was only a
short time ago.

Have you ever been snowed in? What about no power or no heat? Imagine what it would be like to

harsh and deadly. Just to think about powerful, strong, frigid air and snow swirling around me is scary

Netflix s competitors, data of Amazon, Inc. and Outerwall, Inc. were gathered from their 2012, 2013

three ratios including debt ratio, inventory turnover ratio and return on sales ratio as the following:
Debt ratio According to solvency ratio data (see the Appendix II), trends of Amazon s and Outerwall s
debt ratio increased obviously from 2012 to 2014, but the trend of Netflix s debt ratio decreased
constantly due to an increase in cash and short term investments as its assets. Netflix invested in a
combination of securities, an acquisition of DVD content library, and streaming content delivery

Business communication needs to become interpersonal again. No matter how we believe our human

we held hands with our boyfriend or girlfriend. As adults in the workforce, we still need to feel that
connection and comfort with our families and the people we work with. As Susan RoAne (2008),

For the greatest success of the business, employees need interpersonal communication to connect with
their co workers. A leadership expert, John C. Maxwell (2010) says: Connecting goes beyond words.
(p. 41). Physically being in the same room, verbally speaking thoughts, engaging in eye contact, and
being able to see nonverbal responses are all important and add to a person s understanding of the
message being communicated and feeling a connection. Overall, communicating face to face is more
natural for employees. An employee knows who is hearing what they are saying and seeing their
nonverbal gestures. The employee can either get immediate feedback whether or not the person
understands or agrees or disagrees. The communication does not have to be formatted as it does on
paper. An employee should still present themselves professionally, but communicating face to face is a
process, instead of format.
Through in person communication, employees will be able to not only build needed connections, but
relationships and trust with co workers in the business. Maslow s hierarchy of needs is like a staircase,

author is not known definitively. However, the best candidate from the time was Titus Petronius
(Arbiter). The story, looking especially from the scene Dinner with Trimalchio, is a satiric masterwork

Without the help and generosity of Fortunata, Trimalchio would, himself, be a second class citizen

Another way Petronius exemplifies his purpose of writing this story is showing the importance of

one passage in particular where Trimalchio tries to spark a conversation with Agamemnon about the

What is informed consent and when, why and how must the physician obtained this consent? From the
Medicine Net they defined Informed Consent as The process by which a patient learns about the
procedure, understands the purpose, benefits, and potential risks of a medical or surgical intervention,
including clinical trails, and then agrees to receive the treatment or participate in the trial. Informed
consent generally requires the patient or responsible party to sign a statement confirming that they
understand the risks and benefits of the procedure or treatment.
Informed consent needs to be obtained by the physician when a procedure with anesthesia is used, if
the patient is undergoing any type of surgery, a procedure that is entering the body through the skin or
through a body cavity, or if the patient is asked to be in a clinical research trial. This type of consent is
necessary so the patient and the physician are both on the same page of the patient s understanding
and willingness to participate in the procedure. It is also for the patient to know their right to stop the
procedure before or during the procedure. It also informs the patient that if they do not want the
procedure they have alternatives they can choose from.

Energy LEACH protocol improves the choice method of cluster head and multihop LEACH protocol
improves communication mode from single hop to multi hop between cluster head and sink. Chen et
al. (2007) [5]proposed a novel clustering associating algorithm, known as Energy Residue Aware
(ERA)clustering algorithm, to prolong the lifetime of a sensor network by balancing the energy
consumption of the entire network.ERA enables each sensor to associate its cluster head to find a path
with maximum energy residue sum instead of a path with the minimum energy consumption as many
energy efficient routing protocols have been proposed in sensor networks for different scenarios and
various applications in literature. One of the efficient way is to group sensors in the neighbouring into
clusters and send aggregate data by a designated cluster head. However, such design discipline still
can not balance the energy consumption of the entire network. As such, in worst cases, some nodes
may be soon exhausted. Consequently, it is difficult to provide effective operation and seamless
coverage in such a network. Cheng et al.(2008) [6] proposed an energy efficient, weighted clustering
algorithm which improves the cluster formation process of LEACH by taking residual energy mutual
position, workload balance and MAC functioning into consideration.WSN is extremely energy
limited, the traditional network routing protocols are not suitable to it. Energy conservation becomes a

21. Why Beauty id Truth by Ian Stewart
Why Beauty is truth: A History of Symmetry by Ian Stewart is in depth on how mathematicians came
about symmetry. Instead of coming across symmetry by geometry as someone today might think,
Stewart shows how it became an idea by algebra. Most of the book is told in chronological order from
the early Egyptians and Babylonians discovery of the quadratic equation and leading up to the
impossibility to solve the quintic equation. Through each chapter we see how mathematicians get one
step closer to solving the quintic, and their struggles they faced along the way.
Early Equations The earliest record of the quadratic that we know of dates back to the Babylonians,
solved on a tablet. Historians and Mathematicians do not have any clue about how the Babylonians
came to solve the quadratic, but think that they came across is geometrically. Stewart shows how
Euclid s Elements of Geometry introduced the basic methods for constructing a proof. Included in
Elements in Proposition 9 of Book I is how Euclid shows how to bisect an angle with only a compass
and a straightedge. Elements did not include information on how to trisect and angle though, which
could have been used for the construction of a regular 7 gon. It was Euclid s Elements that inspired
mathematicians to take it one step further and solve the things that Euclid had left out, such as
squaring the circle with only a compass and a straightedge. The difficulty of these problems led

22. Fried Green Tomatoes Book Report
Going back and forth between the mid 1980s to the 1920s, Fried Green Tomatoes by Fannie Flagg
weaves a tale as old as time where true friendship takes a front seat. A highly visual book, Flagg is
able to create tableaus that are visceral, evoking emotions like paint strokes on a page.
The main story, set in the mid 1980s, revolves around character Evelyn Couch, whose unsuccessful
weekly visits to a nursing home to see her mother in law. Being accompanied by her husband does
nothing to assuage the situation. But the visits aren t for naught. In the waiting room, safely away from
her mother in law, Evelyn meets Ninny Threadgoode, another resident of the same home.
Week by week, Ninny begins to tell Evelyn stories from her life growing up in Whistle Stop in the
1920s, which is the second time period that frames the book. As the novel advances, Ninny and
Evelyn develop a lasting friendship. Ninny s stories do much to teach Evelyn life lessons that begin

23. Scottish Archaeology Essay
Scotland has an abundance of archaeology all throughout the country and all within different parts of
prehistory. Scottish archaeology has a big impact on both the rest of the UK and on the rest of Europe.
Although during the beginning of the 20th century, archaeology was seen as nothing more than labour,
with the help of the two great men which held the Abercromby chair both with their own contributions
to Scottish archaeology as a whole it soon rocketed into the discipline what we see today.
It s important to note that during the beginnings of the 20th century, Scotland s archaeology wasn t as

overcome this was by putting a chair in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As he believed that archaeology should become a science and the first step to do this was to establish a
systematic and significant classification for its materials (Patterson and Orser, 2004:25). However he
didn t just classify these objects, he was able to think about how everything was connected, it s
explained that he was no longer content with merely describing and classifying the objects he
uncovered; he must ascertain how they were made and whence the materials for their manufacture
came (Ibid, 36). He managed to link what he had found and connected it not only with the other
artefacts that he had found but also the rest of the landscape, by simply linking everything together he
had managed to gain a bigger picture of Scotland, he also managed to connect the prehistory of
Scotland to the prehistory of Europe by comparing artefacts and seeing the relationships between the
two (Sherrat, 1989:151). An effective way that he could show off the information that he had found
was by writing books not just for the educated upper class but also the middle class, and in many
publications he presented a synthesis of knowledge covering a vast and complex field in an
authoritative and unique manner (The Editors of Encyclopaedia Britannica, 2015). Whilst he was

25. Rhetorical Analysis Of Games By Steve Johnson
If you put yourself in an environment with lots of different perspectives, you yourself are going to
have better, sharper, more original ideas, stated Steve Johnson in an interview with Salon Media
Group. In a surrounding with many different networks of people, ideas will be enhanced with the
knowledge of other perspectives. Also, the new ideas will encourage debate and conversation. Not
only will other people s views enhance ideas, but also is crucial for writing on a topic. Acknowledging
opposing perspectives will give a writer more authority on the subject being discussed. Also, it gives
the audience an opportunity to respect an author. In Steve Johnson s essay, Games, he builds authority

already showing he has done his research and writes about Dr. Spock and what he must say about
video games (196). Afterwards, Johnson introduces another source he has studied, this time about
reading, written by Andrew Solomon (197). Both studies Johnson introduces shows he has researched
both video games and reading. Later in his piece, Johnson writes, When I read these ostensibly
positive accounts of video games... (200). Johnson is showing the audience he is analyzing video
games for himself by reading about them and the actual content of the games. Concluding his piece,
he states that video games can be hard (Johnson 201). This statement implies Johnson has played
video games himself, otherwise he would be contradicting himself of what he says in the context. He
talks about the gap between people who have or have not played them. People who have not played
them cannot talk about them coherently (201). Therefore, Johnson must have played video games and

The Impacts of Anthropogenic Greenhouse and Trace Gas Emissions on the Ocean

Introduction:
Anthropogenic emissions of CO2 and other trace gases affect the atmosphere, ocean, biosphere and
cryosphere (IPCC, 2014). These components of the climate system stimulate interactions between
each other ranging from synoptic to microscale processes and including everything in between. Since
the industrial revolution, human produced emissions have been changing the world around us (IPCC,
2014). The phenomenon of having greenhouse gases and aerosols in the atmosphere is natural and
necessary to support life on Earth. However, the buildup of greenhouse gases ... Show more content

This research is intended to further the understanding of how the Earth s climate will be affected with
rising anthropogenic emissions.
Each of the world s countries contributes different amounts of both gas and particle emissions to the
atmosphere influencing changes in weather and climate on a daily basis. The main anthropogenic
emissions in the climate system are Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Methane (CH4), Nitrous Oxide (N2O)
and Aerosols, each consisting of a different atmospheric lifetime. Since the United States endorses
open access to scientific data, tools and resources to conduct research, it is more beneficial to analyze
the anthropogenic emission sources of the United States over other industrialized countries whose data
is not so freely available to the public (Auer et al., 2007). The United States is the second highest
emitter or polluter in the world. The burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, and transportation
produces most of the United States emissions. Due to the country s dependence on fossil fuels, the
United States emission footprint is expanding. With a growing population and an expanding economy,
the United States is urbanizing at an expansive rate. The increase in population as well as the
modernization of our world is causing Americans to increase their energy consumption through
increased transportation and the development of new cities. All in

Rock and Roll all began in the 1950 s and we have the amazingly talented pioneer Chuck Barry to

and Roll a name and a face! This new genre of music took off once Elvis Presley began performing
and the youth of the time could not get enough. Elvis Presley had introduced and widely popularized
lyrics and dancing of a sexual nature. There was an unfortunate downfall of the rock stars in the 50 s
due to the outrage of the adult community. Rock and Roll in the 1960 s was reborn thanks to the
incredibly famous rock band known as The Beatles. The Beatles appearance on Ed Sullivan s
television show in early 1964 launched Beatlemania in the United States, which led to the British

29. What Is The Theme In The Conference Of The Birds
Introduction
This essay will attempt to delve into the meaning and thus, deliver a commentary on one of the
greatest Sufi poems of all times, The Conference of the Birds (Manteq at Tair) written by the great
Persian Sufi poet Farid ud Din Attar, who was born during the twelfth century in Neishapour in north
west Iran and spent his childhood being educated at the theological school attached to the shrine of
Imam Reza at Mashhad. (Darbandi Davis 1). The poem written by Attar can be seen as an allegory of
a spiritual pilgrimage, like that of Dante s Divine Comedy and Chaucer s Canterbury Tales. (Davis et

The Conference of the Birds is an epic Sufi poem, owing to it long length and the narrative that it
attempts to knit together. One of the rhetorical devices used frequently by the poet Attar in his works
is that of anaphora, which is the repetition of a certain word or phrase over and over again within an
extended paragraph or few lines. (Darbandi Davis 9). Moreover, Attar also uses the common masnavi
metre of Persian narrative poetry; where the rhymes occur within the line and each line has a different
rhyme thereby, rendering it almost identical to the English heroic couplet. (Darbandi Davis 9). Not
only that, he also makes use of Persian metaphors in his work which are quite different from that of
the metaphors found in the English poetry, as the former juxtapose words in such a way so as to
deepen the meanings implied by the passage. (Darbandi Davis

31. Factors In Air-Breathing Vertebrates
In air breathing vertebrates, the tidal volume of the lungs is the amount of air normally inhaled, while
the lung capacity is the maximum amount of air inhaled. In this experiment, a round balloon is utilized
to measure both the tidal volume and the lung capacity. Furthermore, students explored possible
factors impacting the vital capacity. Students established that body position is one factor that has an
impact on vital capacity. In this case, a standing position versus a seated position, provides more room
for the expansion of the chest cavity, thus allowing more air to be inhaled, resulting in increased lung
capacity.
Keywords: vertebrates, tidal volume, lungs, lung capacity, factors, impact, position, expansion
Introduction
In air breathing vertebrates, the lungs are two large organs of respiration located in the chest cavity
and responsible for adding oxygen to and removing carbon dioxide from the blood (Encyclopædia
Britannica, 1) The lungs expand and contract with each breath, and the amount of air moving in and
out of the lungs can vary. A diagram of the lungs is represented in the appendix Diagram, labeled as
Figure 1. To establish the amount of air inhaled, lung capacity needs to be established. Lung capacity
can be measured either using a spirometer (Encyclopædia Britannica, 1) or simply by using a round
balloon. The amount of air inhaled in a single breath is called the tidal volume. In the average adult,
tidal volume is about 0.5 liters. However, the lungs

Puerto Rican Identity and Spanish Colonial Rule
The debate on Puerto Rican Identity is a hot bed of controversy, especially in today s society where
American colonialism dominates most of the island s governmental and economic policies. The
country wrestles with the strong influence of its present day colonizers, while it adamantly tries to
retain aspects of the legacy of Spanish colonialism. Despite America s presence, Puerto Ricans

Spain mixed with customs that might have developed locally.

Puerto Rico s early economic development under Spanish rule was characterized by the creation of
settlements particularly in the interior of the island where the land was used for cattle rearing and
farming. (Figueroa lecture Sept. 98) By the late 1550 s to early 1600 s the meager agricultural sector
did not develop and therefore was not sustainable as there were not enough contact with international
traders. (Scarano, 4) The sector was also stifled by the royal trade restriction that Spanish colonies
could only trade with the mother land. Furthermore, most of the Crown s attention was focused on the
recently discovered gold and silver mines in Mexico and Peru. Puerto Rico at this stage became some
what of a frontier society at the margins of the Spanish colonial empire. (Figueroa Sept. 98) While
other Caribbean countries had experimented and had began to develop their mass sugar cultivation,
Puerto Rico, for the most part, remained a racially mixed peasant society. (Scarano, 5) The influence
of their neighboring islands was not far off, and the introduction of African slaves along with the
development of the sugar industry literally changed the face of the Puerto Rican society.

On September 4, 2016, I visited the Matisse in His Time exhibit at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art.
This exhibit is home to a plethora of pieces by many different European artists from the 19th and 20th
centuries. While it is focused on Matisse and his extensive works, containing more than 50 of his
pieces, there are many portraits and sculptures by other influential artists from that time period
including Renoir, Picasso, and Georges Braque. Three of the most appealing works that I encountered
in this exhibit are Maurice de Vlaminck s Portrait of Père Bouju, Pablo Picasso s Reclining Woman on

One of the most visually intriguing pieces in the exhibit is the Portrait of Père Bouju by Maurice de
Vlaminck. It was painted around the year 1900 by the French artist. It is not particularly beautiful by
normal standards. At first glance, the texture of the paint stands out more than any other feature. It has
very strongly defined brush strokes and thick paint in portions, especially the face of the man and the
background. The lines in the paint are mostly straight, short, and wide with some that are thinner and
wavy, like the smoke. The man is in the center of the canvas, he is the only discernable image, and he
is almost devoid of detail aside from the face and the hat. The colors are almost entirely neutral aside
from the red scarf. In this oil on canvas portrait the man is wearing a

36. Attachment, The Key Factor That Promote The Attachment Essay
This essay will explain the definition of attachment, the key factor that promote the attachment and
discuss the theory of attachment, including deprivation and privation. Attachment is an emotional and
affectional tie or bonds that one person or animal forms between himself and another specific one.
Children`s attachment is mostly based on the children`s sensitivity and understanding of the mother`s
honesty in providing comfort, support and security. In addition, behaviours of the child that build up
attachment and give the opportunity for showing contact between mother and child can include
breastfeeding, which means relaxing the baby and independent, co sleeping, kangaroo care, smelly
mother, talking, and smiling to baby, physical touching and hugging, and playing with baby. (Simply
Psychology) The important attachment factor is oxytocin between mother and baby. The nipple
stimulation that happens when baby causes a hormone called oxytocin to be free in the mother, which
in turns trigger milk let down. The oxytocin makes mother to become intimate with her newborn baby
and makes them to attach to each other. Babies can similarly imprint on their mother, deriving feelings
of peace and pain reduction along with mother. Similarly, Freud believed that baby s instinctive needs
such as food and security are pleases by mother, who then becomes desire in her own right.

Running is a great way to keep fit and can be a lot of fun, too. It is very important to make sure you
have the correct equipment before you start and one of the most important investments is a good pair
of running shoes. They can improve your running gait and prevent injuries. There are thousands of
different running shoes to choose from and most of the big sports manufacturers invest money into the
science and technology of running shoes.
Running Shoe Components
A running shoe comprises an outsole, a midsole, an upper, a heel counter and a post or footbridge.
Apart from that, running shoes vary enormously in design and color. A running shoe has to be flexible
and durable, control motion and absorb shock. It is best to buy your shoes from a specialist running
shop, or at least a sports shop, so you can get good advice from the sales staff. Try on shoes in the

40. Private Education Vs. Public Education
It is often said that private education is superior to public education. I attended a private Christian
school from grades Kindergarten through eighth. My father believed a private education would be the
best option for me. Our class sizes were very small. Each grade level had around forty students, but
we were split equally into two individual classes. The majority of the eighth grade class consisted of
the same students that we started Kindergarten with. We had grown up together and helped one
another grow. A few months into my eighth grade year, I transferred into a public middle school.
Although I attended a costly private school, my family was considered to be living under the poverty
line. The other parents who sent their children to this school were typically professionals who were
much wealthier. Throughout the years there were many activities that I wanted to participate in, but
couldn t afford to. These activities included: band, choir, sports, and girl scouts. This made me the

weird and stopped hanging out with me. It appeared that after nine years, I was eventually left out of
everything. Around seventh grade, I started being bullied by the students that I had spent my entire

When my grandpa picked me up from school one chilly day in eighth grade, I told him I wasn t going

Kingdon, with Steve Corkran, a sports writer. Al Davis, as he was fondly called, was the owner and
the general manager of the Oakland Raiders football team. Al from Brooklyn, New York, he often

and about his team, the Oakland Raiders. He was a man who recognized who he was and commanded

The narration shifts to the first person point of view at several times. The authors vividly described
their opinion of whom they believed Al Davis was. It was clearly evident that although they respected
and even revered him, they disagreed with his believes and his method of leadership. He was
superstitious at times. He was mostly autocratic in his leadership. He frequently ignored his scouts and
his coaches. He implemented decisions he thought was best and he never settled for less. He didn t
follow their advice. I admired Al s strength and determination. He had many inspirational quotes like,
All I do is win and Just win baby win . He never discriminated against anyone based on their sex or
color or background. He was the first NFL owner to draft an African American quarterback, the first to
hire a Latino coach and the first to hire a female as his chief executive. It was evident that he was not
racist or sexist. I learned some terms used in football like running back and

Repairing vinyl covered wallboard is a little trickier than repairing drywall. For major fixes, we
recommend calling in an expert to fix your wall. Smaller repairs can be fixed similar to repairing
regular drywall, however, you must prepare the wall differently.
To prepare your vinyl walls prior to repair, wash the entire surface with a cleaner containing trisodium
phosphate. This will remove stains and grime so that the new paint or covering will stick better to the
surface and without stains .
How to paint manufactured home walls
Adding a new coat of paint to your walls is a great way to update your manufactured home interior.
One way to keep your home updated with style is to keep up with current paint trends. Like any walls,
you can use paint and primer in one or separate the products.

44. My Goals Essay
My Goals
There are three careers, which I may be aspired to:
Architects are licensed professionals trained in the art, and science of building design. This means the
overall artistic appreciation, plus the functional look of buildings, or other structures. They design the
overall aesthetic.
Artist generally fall into one of three groups:
Art Directors formulate design concepts, with presentation approaches for visual communications
media.
Fine Artists create original artwork using a variety of media combined with their own techniques.
Multi Media artists, (including Animators) create special effects such as animation, films, video,
computers, or other electronic media.
Service technicians specialize in home ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To become an Architect you will have to obtain a professional degree in Architecture from one of the
111 schools that are accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). A second
alternative option is to acquire one of three degrees in Architecture that are available through colleges,
and universities. `
If at all possible, Multi Media Art, and Animators would be my best interest:
Drawing characters, backgrounds, rims, cars, or trucks spends most of my pastime. In addition to
drawing, I would also like to partake classes in Animation. Art directors earned $56,880 in 2000, and
the highest 10% made more than $109,440 dollars. Artist work about 40 hours a week, but during
busy periods, they work overtime to meet deadlines.
Artists need patience to develop their profession. Spending long hours drawing, painting, and
sculpting, they use all the time there is to finish their projects.
Working in studios is the key to promoting and selling their successful works of art.
However, this can expose some artist to fumes from glue, paint, ink, plus other materials. Artists who
sit at drafting tables or use computers for extended periods may experience back pain, eyestrain, or
fatigue. Some Artists work in fine or commercial art studios located in office buildings (while others
work in private studios at home).
Studio surroundings usually are well lighted, and ventilated. Many Artists are self employed or work
in motion picture, television, computer
46. A Government s Change Of Political Structure
A government s change of political structure needs a careful and cautious review of the various factors
that would evidently adjust for the benefit and advantage of a nation s progress and existence. The
Soviet Republic of Livonia has decided to change its government into a democratic one with two
options that would guide them. And although the goal and objectives are purposeful and legitimate,
the transition would be the most crucial stage of this change because everything may either fall into
place or fall out in synchronism. Democracy is a good choice for the new independent nation
considering that there is a new means of allowing their people to actively cooperate with the
government. The right of suffrage will allow the citizens to elect their chosen representatives
especially for the higher and important positions. Through the constitution, people s rights and
responsibilities will be codified enduring limits to their new government. Frye (309) claimed that even
citizens could participate through political parties that would help the proper dispersion of financial
budgets. However, there is a great threat that economic reform might only be beneficial to narrow
business groups and wealthy personalities that would create a privatization of some economic
regulations. These types of people may drain the country s resources for their benefits. Frye (309)
suggests that such political competition and diverse political coalitions might even prevent the
productive transition

47. Positive Aspects In Great Expectationations By...
A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool, is a quote proclaimed by
William Shakespeare. I compare the quote to the main character of Pip, notably because of, who Pip is
and who he becomes. Within the story of Dickens Great Expectations, Pip has come across influences
both negative and positive in some situations or from people. These influences called upon Pip would
later change who would he would become later in the story. Experiences faced by Pip are influential to
who he would later become when his adulthood Throughout the story, Pip has had positive influences
involving Joe, however, Pip has been present in negative influences including Joe. After arrival back
from Miss Havisham s estate, Pip tells lies to Mrs. Joe and Mr. Pumblechook to make the visit more
excitable. Pip later leans Mr. Joe for comfort and recognition for these lies, in which Joe replies
saying, Don t you tell no more of em Pip. That ain t the way to get out of being common, old chap.
Which in return of telling the truth, Pip is set to a motive for his future to not bring about his lies.
(page 59). While Pip was growing, Mr. Joe revealed that he would take the abuse from his wife Mrs.
Joe so Pip would not have to bare it all. He later tells Pip that he had also had a troubled past that
contained abuse as well. In all parts where Pip had done right or wrong by Mr. Joe or somebody other
than Mr. Joe, he still gave unconditional love through anything from when he
