Compare And Contrast The Help And Remember The Titans
How do Boaz Yakin and Tate Taylor depict historical content to develop the theme of racism in
Remember the Titans and The Help in similar and different ways? Introduction Remember the Titans
is a 2000 American sports film directed by Boaz Yakin, set in Alexandria, Virginia. The film is based
on the true story in 1971 of African American coach Herman Boone. Set in the time during
segregation, he tries to integrate a racially divided school football team putting the fundamentals of
footballs great tradition to the test. In contrast The Help is a 2011 American period drama film,
directed by Tate Taylor, based on the best selling novel of the same name, written by Kathryn Stocket.

In Remember the Titans we witness Coach Boone fighting for civil rights, signifying the image of an
outsider integrating into a foreign white team as their coach. Director Boaz Yakin, uses techniques to
strengthen Coach Boone s character where the initial hate and disrespect towards him succours the
development of a meaningful arc. The disrespect and aggression is employed when a brick is thrown
through his house window, threatening him with the derogatory coloured comments calling him Coach
Coon . The pressure of quitting was not felt and heroically he encompasses the journey with Yakin
emphasising Boones evocative discipline and determination forcing integration amongst the
segregated football team. This technique is employed when we witness Coach Boone stepping up,
pushing equality for the players in a determined strike to stop racial abuse for good. His actions
initiate the forced building of friendship and acceptance when he forces both races to get to know and
accept each other at the camp. Yakin heightens the themes of overcoming racism when Boone rallies
the troops together to support their team mate during a sad time. Instinctively, the implicit segregation
is evoked further bringing unity to the team, Coach Boone emerges as a hero to both the coloured and
white community. Similarly, The Help s Aibileen, initially reluctant, puts her life at risk to tell her
stories; as she does she builds up her courage, feeling compelled to express

The Species Richness Of Aquatic Macro Invertebrates Among...
Figure 1. The species richness of aquatic macro invertebrates among three stream types. The same
number of species was found in the forest and urban streams. There was an insignificantly higher
number of species found in the agriculture stream. Figure 2. The biotic index of the three types of
streams was calculated by the sum of total tolerance values divided by the sum of total number of
individuals. The forest stream had the lowest FBI value, followed by the urban stream and the
agriculture stream. Figure 3. The relative frequency of the functional feeding groups of each stream

agriculture, and urban streams, respectively. The major ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, there is a trend in the number of species found in each stream type based on the riparian
habitat. As the amount of organic pollution increased, there should have been a decrease in the species
richness of the streams. Species richness also has an effect on the processing of leaf material. Less
species richness due to organic pollution forces the litter breakdown to be dependent on microbial
activity rather than shredders (Masese et al. 2014). In addition, microbial breakdown of leaf litter is
accelerated by the presence of nutrients, which is high in agricultural streams (Masese et al. 2014).
Therefore, the species richness of the agricultural stream should have been low and leaf processing
would be controlled by bacteria. Although the agricultural stream had the highest species richness, the
relative frequency of shredders was very low compared to the other functional feeding groups shown
in Figure 3. Likewise, due to the organic pollution present in urban streams, it would be expected to
have a low species richness and thus any leaf material would be processed by microbes as well.
Furthermore, the forest stream should have had the highest species richness, which would in turn
impact leaf processing by having the shredders drive leaf litter breakdown rather than microbes. The
Family Biotic Index describes the water quality of a stream by averaging the tolerance values of all the
individuals that were sampled (Hilsenhoff 1988). Based on the equation,

Reflection On Nutrition
There was a tremendous amount of effort that went in to the process of carrying out my behavior
change in a successful manor. I had to rely on sheer dedication, will power and trust in appropriate
programing in order to continuously make progress. I have found that there is no substitute for being
willing to do little tasks consistently, for these tasks later yield large results. To ensure that I was going
to maximize my potential of reaching my goal of gaining 2 3.5 lbs. of lean body mass, then I was
going to need to have a detailed plan from the beginning. In order to provide adequate programing, I
decided to seek knowledge from an experienced personal trainer. I did not have to go far as my mother
has over 25 years of experience in the fitness world, and specifically personal training. Together we
came up with a program that would allow for maximum muscular hypertrophy and strength increase,
by carefully delegating the stimulation of training sessions and appropriate recovery. I then evaluated
what I was going to need to consume in regards of nutrition. Assessing the appropriate amount of each
nutrient was another key factor that I had to evaluate and then enforce into my daily life. Through
these implementations there was a clear roadmap that would guide me to the end result I was seeking.
With a clear vision and guide in place, the ability to carry out and complete all the prescribed actions.
This is something that I did not find to be as easy as I had anticipated. It

Literature Review Of Literature About Poultry
Literature Review
A. Systems of Backyard Poultry Production
The raising of poultry mainly fulfills the purposes of meat, eggs and feather production, and sometimes
for religious ceremonies (Scanes et al., 2004). Poultry are efficient converters of feed to food. Food of
poultry origin serves the highest nutritional values, with egg being not only delicious but extremely
nutritious and balance of all nutrients (Scanes et al., 2004).
Poultry plays very important role for mankind through food supply, income and employment
generation, providing raw materials to some industries, facilitating research works etc. Family poultry
makes up to 80 percent of poultry stocks in low income food deficit countries (Pym et al., 2006)
where owners raise poultry in small numbers ranging from single birds up to a few hundred.
Backyard poultry rearing also finds an important role to raise indigenous birds free of stress and
harmful residues (Khandekar 2003, Mandal et al. 2006). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Sonaiya and Swan (2004), 80% of farmers in Africa, Asia and Latin America keep
poultry either in free range extensive system or in backyard extensive system. Many authors believed
that poultry bringing under traditional backyard systems in rural households has become an integral
part of their livelihood (Branckaert and Guèye, 1999; Ahuja et al., 2008; SA PPLPP, 2009). Poultry
farming in the rural areas have diverse functions like rich source of animal proteins, cash income,
manure, help control pests (Clarke, 2004; Copland and Alders, 2005; Alders and Pym 2009), sacrifices
for rituals, gifts and objects of exchange (Kondombo et al., 2003), and herald time of the

Suffering In Dante s Inferno
Throughout the fast paced lives of people, they are constantly making choices that shape who they are,
as well as the world around them; however, they do not often think about the consequences of the little
decisions they make every day, such as the result of eternal suffering. From those who were neither
good nor bad all the way to Satan himself, Dante takes the reader on his calculated and detailed
journey through hell in his attempt to reach salvation in Inferno, the beginning of the Divine Comedy:
a trilogy of poetry by Dante Alighieri.
The tale begins where Dante finds himself alone in the Dark Wood of Error, or Limbo, having strayed
from the True Way (Alighieri 4). He attempts to climb the Mount of Joy but is faced with three beasts,

Diviners, Grafters, Hypocrites, Thieves, Evil Counselors, Sowers and Discord, and, in the last Bolgia,
Counterfeiters and Alchemists. The Panderers and Seducers are driven at an endless fast walk by
horned demons due to their making others do their will, the Flatterers sink in excrement, the
equivalent to their false flatteries on Earth, and the Simoniacs are stuck upside down with their soles
ablaze to a heat dependent on their guilt. The Fortune Tellers and Diviners have their heads turned
backwards so they can never see the future like they tried to on Earth, the Grafters are sunk in boiling
pitch to symbolize their sticky fingers, while demons guard them so they don t leave, and the
Hypocrites are weighted down by leaden robes that mimic the weight of their deceit in life. The
Thieves are in a pit full of monstrous reptiles who bind the hands with which they did their crimes and

Honore De Balzac And The Napoleonic Period
An unsure Pope Pius VII, not wanting to place a crown on the head of the soon to be Emperor of
France in the extravagant Notre Dame Cathedral of Paris, who then takes matters into his own hand
and places the crown on his own head (Selin Par. 1, 2, 13). This is the situation of Napoleon
Bonaparte. After overthrowing the Directory in 1799, Napoleon worked to satisfy the needs of the
people and recreate and better the French empire by ratifying reforms, such as the Napoleonic Code
(Ligard Par. 2). This reform, and other aspects of French culture, helped shape the work of the
renowned French novelist, Honore de Balzac. Therefore, France s culture during the years 1800 to
1814 were shaped by its monarchy while the literature of Honore de Balzac evinces its cultural
connection.
From the years 1804 to 1814, also referred to as the Napoleonic Age, France became an empire, ruled
by its first emperor, Napoleon Bonaparte. When Bonaparte became emperor in 1804, it was because
the Senate who had all been chosen by Napoleon passed a law making him Emperor of the French
(Wilde Par. 6). If it were not for the people he put in Senate, Napoleon would not have become
emperor because citizens were already beginning to disapprove the changes he was making to their
government. Since he is able to chose men who will support him and follow his commands in Senate,
it reveals how much power Bonaparte really holds in his empire. Bonaparte surrounded himself by his
tribe of paltry, rapacious and

Claude Monet Haystacks
Claude Monet was a French artist of the late 1800 s and early 1900 s. He used very gestural brush
strokes in many of his painted, making them less realistic like any of the artist were doing at the time.
He was thought of as the father of Impressionism. Impressionism is taking a image out of the realism
skim and making it looked less real and instead more of a painting. This is done by the long and large
brush strokes in many of Monet s pieces, making them an Impression of an image rather than going
for a photographic look. The movement name actually came from reviewers stating that the work was
an impression of an image rather than its own piece of art.

This made it easy for Mondrian to make the pieces such like haystacks. The elements of the movement
are color, line, and value. In the painting Monet used very bright and dark colors, and used large
brushstroke lines as well. The value is seen in the darkness of the background and the brightness of the
green lilies. This is also seen in many of the other pieces of impressionism in this time period.
Monet employs the principles of organization through scale, emphasis, contrast, and proportion. He
uses the close up scale of the haystack to show its emphasis in the piece. The contrast of the bright sky
on the darker haystack is very defined as well.
He used many elements of design in his piece as well. Line is a huge one; you can see the lines from
the shadows, the parallel lines of the tops of the haystacks, and the landscape horizontal line as well.
He also showed a ton of space since the haystacks are all on the left side, the right is a huge open
space in the painting. Form is also used in the piece, considering the haystacks look 3D to the human
eye. The color and value work together to create the darkness of the haystacks and shadows, and the
light blue of the sky as well. Mass is the last element seen in this piece. The haystacks seem so
massive in the foreground compared to the horizon in the face background of the

Essay on An Experience in My Lfe
An Experience in My Life December 31, 2004, while everyone else was celebrating New Year s, my
family and I were moving from one city to another. It was hard for me to move another city because I
was leaving behind the town where I was born and all my friends. This was one of the biggest impacts
that I have experience in my life. Moving from one town to another was like moving to another world
where I did not know anyone. But the hardest part of moving for me was moving to another school
where I did not know anyone and I did not know what to expect. Moving from a place I grew up and
lived my whole life was really difficult to adapt to the new place. The sun shined on my face and I

neighbors but I didn t know anyone no more. I wish it was all just a dream and that I would wake up
back to my old friends and home. The reality was that it was never going to happen. The days passed
and I stared to get to know people in school. I joined the school soccer team and that s where I made
my friends. After I made new friends they started inviting me to places and showing me around the
town. Can you show specific examples of how things changed for you? They introduced me to their
friends and I felt more comfortable in the new town. I met new people and I stated to feel like at
home. As the time past the feeling of not being at home started to fade away. I started to get familiar
with all the stores, streets, and restaurants. I started to give the town a chance and the result were
positive. The getting familiar with the town was not the only difficulty for me. What took me more
time to get used to was the weather. The new town had warmer weather than my hometown. I was

The Effects Of Social Media On Society Essay
Social media has become prominent parts of life for many young people today. Most people engage
with social media without stopping to think what the effects are on our lives, whether positive or
negative. Are we as a society becoming more concerned with Facebook friends than we are with the
people we interact with face to face in our daily lives? What will the longterm effects of today s social
media use be? There are many positive aspects, but there are equally as many dangers that come with
the use of sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google +, Tumblr, Instagram, gaming
sites, and blogs. Social media has both negative and positive effects on society, it is up to the user to
decide what impact they want to make. In order to make the right choices, we must dig in and research
this topic thoroughly. Recent research has documented how technology, and social networking sites
(SNS; e.g., Facebook, Instagram) in particular, have given rise to a growing obsession with impression
management and self presentation online. Whether it s searching for the perfect Instagram photo filter
or carefully crafting a humblebrag Facebook status about a recent publication, users frequently engage
in selective self presentation strategies to portray an ideal self through social media (Chou Edge, 2012;
Manago, Graham, Greenfield, Salimkhan, 2008). In turn, we seek out social approval and positive
feedback in the form of comments and likes. With steep increases in the

Why Gender Inequality Stalled By Stephanie Coontz
Stephanie Coontz, author of Why Gender Inequality Stalled, emphasizes on how women are still
challenged in today s society about inequality of women wanting to have a career and raising a family
instead of staying at home to care for her family. Women making the choice to have a baby and have a
career is often frowned upon. According to Coontz, when they become mothers, they face more
scrutiny and prejudice on the job than fathers do (7). In a two family household, mothers often have to
take off work to care for their children in case of emergencies than fathers do. In single household
families, mothers are full time parents and have a full time job. This makes it harder for the women to
get equality in the workplace. Do you think that

Womanhood In The Scarlet Letter
What composes a woman? An even deeper question being what composes womanhood? As a matter
of fact, being a woman is more than just the anatomy. Womanhood is a tricky concept. Women are
portrayed as delicate beings, but are held to extremely high standards by society. One of the most
famous stories The Scarlet Letter Is a story that begins in seventeenth century Boston. A woman who
is accused of adultery displays the scarlet letter A on her chest. Displaying the scarlet letter is
punishment for what she had done, along with the public shaming of course (Hawthorne). Setting
aside the fact that the woman had committed adultery, she was displaying a side of womanhood that is
rarely seen and by most considered unacceptable: Sexuality. Sandra ... Show more content on

From a young age Clemencia s mother often warned her to never marry a Mexican man. Clemencia s
mother being a Mexican American and her father being Mexican born and raised, she felt that she didn
t belong to any particular class. Proof of this is when she states I m amphibious. I m a person who
doesn t belong to any class (Cisneros 111). Opening, it s a simple observation that Clemencia is
somewhat out of place, with little to no direction. Clemencia s rooted values play a critical role in this
story. Growing up, Clemencia witnessed her mother s acts of adultery during the time that her father
was sick and debilitated. Most daughters shift their attention to their mothers for direction about
womanhood, but it is possible she felt that she never had her mother there in that sense. It s crucial to

Disengagement Theory Case Study
In a contemporary social work practice, Mr Anderson report detailed his symptoms which points
towards possibility of early brain damage (dementia), although further investigation is important for
early intervention and to find out what support he and his carer needs. Everyone grieves differently
and Mr Anderson s grieving process could have exacerbated his misuses of alcohol, isolation and his
mutual withdrawer, which reinforces the psychosocial theories; the disengagement theory, activity
theory and continuity theory, however, this log will explore the disengagement theory and activity
theory. Disengagement theory claimed that ageing is inevitable, it is natural and acceptable for older
people to withdraw from the society according to Cumming Henry, (1961). Drawing from a biological
perspective, Mr Anderson s physical energy has decreased, as older adult energy diminishes as they
age; also, his interest in the society has lessen, he now has fewer interaction. From psychological
level, he has been showing less interest in things that are going on around him and he spend more time
looking inward and embracing his alcohol ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

research base, as many older adults wish to remain active and engaged in their community activities,

Christopher Columbus Motives
In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue. This phrase is perhaps one of the most well known historical
allusions in today s age. Everyone knows the concept, but no one knows the motives behind the
expedition. No one ever asks themselves deeply on why Christopher Columbus was able to make the
voyage in the first place. The answer is always by the book, which is He recieved funding by King
Ferdinand and Queen Isabella. Not a single person asks themselves on why he was chosen specifically
to go on this voyage. That is why I am writing this paper. I will give the motives that drove this
expedition. Before a proper explanation can be given, there must be a background to give the reader a
brief glimpse of who the man Columbus was. Columbus was born in Genoa, Italy in 1451. Columbus
also was the child of a pair of two wool merchants. Columbus, during his early years worked on a
merchant ship. Afterwards, Columbus sought out a higher education in the fields of cartography,
navigation, and astronomy. These topics that he learned later would fuel his ambition for exploration .
After receiving permission to explore, he began his journey for fame and gold. Initially, Columbus
planned to sail from more foreign ports such as England and Portugal, but was denied. Then, he
sought patronage from Spain, who had an interest in his plan. One motive of the spaniards was to find
a quicker, more free route to India. This was their main goal. However, the Spaniards did not want to

Auteur Theory Continues to be an Important Part of Filmmaking
The auteur theory is an idea or principle, which states that the film is a reflection of a director s
creative personal vision, as if to say the he or she is the primary author (which in French, means auteur
). This theory first came to be in 1954, by a French film director named Francois Truffaut. The auteur
theory s birth was through the French New Wave, which was a group of new French filmmakers
during the 1950 s and 1960 s. In the beginning, the theory received positive and negative responses.
And to this day, it will create a heated debate. Many have questioned the theory, because there are
usually multiple people involved in the development of a film. Ultimately, a film ... Show more

One was fiction and the other non fiction, but they both was a piece of art displayed by Spike Lee.
When we view these two films from an auteur theory point of view, we are able to capture Spike Lee s
voice. One of the biggest traits you will witness in Spike Lee s films is the ability to zoom in on a
character and talk to the viewer. In Do the Right Thing and Malcolm X, Spike Lee would focus on a
particular character, as if to zone out everyone else within the film. In doing so, he was able to get his
point across because the viewer had no choice but to take in what was being said and the image
remained in the back of our minds. I know for a fact that more than 20 years later, the close up of
those films are still present in mind. This was a unique, personal, and creative vision of Spike Lee.
At the same time, Spike Lee had a way of focusing on specific areas or backgrounds within the film. A
great example is a scene in Do the Right Thing, where Spike Lee, himself was walking down the
sidewalk, delivering a pizza. The point of him delivering the pizza didn t really mean much. What
stood out about the scene is when Spike Lee left the scene and the camera remained. Those seconds of
footage displayed a sidewalk with an image, written by kids with chalk. Another great display of
Spike Lee s vision is how he could change scenes in the middle of conversation. A character could be
talking to someone, turn away from the person, look in the other direction, and what

Anne said that for aheo and HEa searches the amount of search committee members could be 3.
Question: Is it fair to have a candidate interview via skype while others were able to fly in? This
person said that they felt that the amount of resources available to bring candidates to the campus
should be on the plan.
Comment: Will there be resources to bring in people from outside the state? This should be discussed
with the hiring manager when creating the hiring plan.
Question: What challenges do CDO s faced on searches?
Comment: One person stated that search committee ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Almost no one had the search committee looking for the minimum requirements. There might be a
problem in terms of the experience waiver.
Ella: They look at the job description/org chart and the screening questions. Why can t we have a 90
positing starting from mid August.
Interviewing and Selection:
Candidate and interviews need to be tracked in TAM. Anne has a list of disposition codes that can be
shared.
Anne: Reference checks can be done before selecting finalist. We can use Degreeverify to conduct
credential checking.
Alternate plan: A professional recruiter will replace the search committee and some of the CDO roles
for lower position aHEO and HEa. This plan has not been implemented but may happen in the future.
Michael: Said that the recruiter might be more efficient but bias. He said the committee is there to stop
bias.
Arlene?: The CDO will still certify the pool and there is a lot of diversity among the lower
appointments.
ORD needs to know the human and financial resources of the CDO office if it were to move to this
model.
We probably will not be able to use the recruiter for faculty searches since search committee members
need to look at publications and are more involved in the

Essay On Drafting The Constitution
In the beginning of drafting the original constitution, there were 7 key individuals involved, George
Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, James Monroe,
and Benjamin Franklin. I believe that James Madison was the main person in drafting the
Constitution. Madison wrote the first drafts of the U.S. Constitution, co wrote the Federalist Papers,
and sponsored the Bill of Rights.
James Madison, being a federalist, campaigned for a strong central government. He wanted to form a
3 part federal government, consisting of an Executive, Judcial and Legislative branches. He believed it
would prevent an abuse of power by any one group. Along the way, there was some opposition from
his native Virginia regarding the constitution itself. He formed an alliance with Alexander Hamilton
and John Jay in an effort to ratify the Constitution. The three of them ... Show more content on

House Representitive the legislative branch of the new government that he had helped draft. He was
an intrumental force behind the Bill of Rights. Madison suggested amendments to the Constitution to
Congress in June 1789, ensuring that all Americans had the right to Freedom of speech, were
protected against Unreasonable searches and seizures and received a speedy and public trial if faced
with charges. The first draft of his amendment concerning the rights of all Americans was revised and
later adopted to the Constitution.
Madison believed that the three branches of government would ensure a check and balance of power,
so it would be less likely to become corrupt. Each branch of government had its own job to do. The
Executive branch begins with the President of the United States, Commander in Chief responsible for

Modern Indie Music Movement
Imagine the discovery of an art form so abstract and different, one of which possessed with strange
ideals and seemingly free artists to create and dispose at their will. These are the basic attributes of
what we call independent, or indie, music. Independent music is a movement meant to represent the
opposition of being trite an anti establishment fuck you to the mass marketing of originality.
Independent music started as bands that were on small and relatively low budget labels that had a do it
yourself attitude and retained an outsider and underground perspective. From then on, the
conversation changed from how the music was made to how the music sounds, such as containing
abstract or non mainstream themes, instruments, lyrics, etc.. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Some of these artists were R.E.M., Pixies, and The Smiths from the UK, a band that helped inspire the
guitar based genre jangle pop. Around this time in the United States, the term indie was particularly
associated with the intense, distortion heavy sounds of the Pixies, Hüsker Dü, Minutemen, Meat
Puppets, Dinosaur Jr., and The Replacements. The 1990 s proceeded to bring massive changes to the
indie rock scene. Grunge (a subgenre of rock that fuses elements of punk rock, heavy metal, and
distorted electric guitar) bands such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Hole, and Alice in Chains
broke into the mainstream, achieving commercial chart success and widespread exposure. As a result
of indie rock bands moving into the mainstream, the term indie lost its original counter cultural
context and began to refer to the new, commercially more accessible form of music that was now
achieving mainstream success. It has been argued that the term sellout lost its meaning as grunge
made it possible for a small movement, no matter how radical, to be commercialized by the
mainstream, solidifying the formation of an individualist, fragmented

Voter Turnout
July 4th, Veterans Day, and Labor Day are all national holidays for which schools and work are closed
for the day. However, the United States has yet to make election day a national holiday. The first
Tuesday in November of every fourth year, election day takes place. Election day presents citizens
with the opportunity to influence federal bureaucracy by choosing the next president of the United
States. In the most recent election, voter turnout was at a twenty year low (Wallace). The U.S. was not
only at a twenty year low, but the U.S. voter turnout currently trails most developed countries
(DeSilver). As voter turnout seemed to drop every election, many democratic politicians decided to
take a stand. One such as former President Barack Obama ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

voting to burdens on voter registration to strict voter ID requirements ( Election 2016 ). Along with
these restrictions, the Supreme Court ruled that states with the longest histories of voting
discrimination no longer needed to approve their voting changes with the federal government
(Berman). This ruling allowed states to discriminate and make it harder for other ethnicities to vote,
which would affect voter turnout. These voter restrictions are a violation of the constitution and
against the belief of democracy in the U.S. The rebuff of Trump s hedging on accepting the election
results 65 percent of Americans in a recent poll disapproved of it, most of them strongly shows that
the commitment to democratic institutions and processes remains strong (Hemmer). Election day
becoming a national holiday would prevent restrictive voting laws because it reiterates the importance
of voting causing a huge turnout in the polls and if people are restricted from their right, they are more

Melissa Mccarthy How To Become A Strong Woman
If you are a woman, then these strong women quotes are for you. They are from some of the strongest
women in the public eye, and their messages are worthy of every woman s attention! These women
know what it takes to be strong women, and while they are already living that strength, they want it
for you and every other woman out there, which is why their quotes are so powerful. Their quotes are
the truth and the guidelines to becoming stronger in every aspect of life.
1. How To Become A Stronger Woman
Authentic power is when the personality, your personality, comes to serve the energy of your soul.

She is a strong woman who has worked for her success and continues to work for her success, despite
how badly people want to tear her down for superficial reasons. I m talking about the type of reasons
that have nothing to do with what kind of woman she is or what she can do with her life.
Every woman knows this well. They are always faced with another person basing their worth on their
looks, weight, clothes, hair, and makeup. In short, their worth is based on their looks to many people,
and they are taught that from a young age. And, every single person who tells them they are not living
up to a standard makes them feel like they are less of a person than they could or should be.
Of course, this applies to all women, even the conventionally beautiful women, because every little bit
of their outward appearance is attacked and no woman can live up to what society says they should be
like in order to be worthy! How are women supposed to feel strong when they feel so weak in

Failure of an MIS Essay
Failure of an MIS In the year1994, FoxMeyer was the fourth largest drug wholesaler in the United
States with an annual sales of approximately $5.1 billion. The company filled orders from thousands
of pharmaceutical companies with shipments of up to 500,000 items per day. However, in the same
year, due to rapid growth and consolidation of the pharmaceutical industry, FoxMeyer s management
was concerned about competition from the larger competitors. The threat imposed required drastic
measures. The whole industry competed on low profit margins. Therefore, FoxMeyer decided to stay
ahead of the competition by implementing a new information system.

Conceptually, FoxMeyer s information system planned to conduct business with its customers on a
daily basis. FoxMeyer focused its value chain on activities in their business where competitive
strategies could be best applied. (Porter, 1985) However, the implementation was inconsistent with the
changing business environment. The new system caused problems at every step of implementation.
Problems ranged from inadequate time allocation for development, testing, debugging, lack of
interaction between management, systems personnel, consultants and low user involvement.
Initially, FoxMeyer s management were supportive and committed appropriate funding of $56 million
to develop and install the newly named Delta Information System. However, to build its new 340,000
square foot warehouse, FoxMeyer spent an additional $18 million. The company hired Anderson
Consulting, a leading international information systems consulting firm, both to advise them about the
project and to supply skilled personnel to construct the system.
Also, FoxMeyer purchased R/3, an inventory management software system from SAP AG, a giant
German software company. Although SAP had been designed to run on Digital Equipment
Corporation hardware, FoxMeyer purchased a Hewlett Packard Company client/server system at a
cost of $4.8 million. The vendor for the warehouse system was Pinnacle, a system not tightly

The Family Structure Of The Hoover Family Essay
I. Through the traverse of 3 days, the Hoover family takes a road trip that progressions, each of them
exclusively and as a three generational family. The most unconventionally miserable family you will
ever experience. Their individual self centered identities will put them in terrible positions, however
soon enough each family member will work together. As we get to be familiar with each of the
Hoovers, we see them separately either making progress toward the status of a broken family.
Change for the Hoover family is unequivocal bringing the opportunity of togetherness to return. At the

The Inter War Period
The inter war period (1918 1939) is characterized by conflicts among states, political rivalry and
economic instability in Europe. Economic competetion between different powers and the depression
leaded to the rise of extremist politicians moved to the Mussulini`s fascist Italy since 1920. Ten years
later the European democracy fell; as a result, the power of Hitler in Nazi Germany began to rise
constantly. Italian fascism is considered to be the elder brother of Nazism what made the relationship
between Hitler and Mussolini complex and troublesome. These two political leaders had in their
policy as differences, as similarities. Both Hitler and Mussolini had similarities in the way of ruling
foreign and domestic policy; however, at the same time they had differences in the level of their
constitutional positions and the attitude to religion. The first similarity of Hitler and Mussolini is their
way of ruling foreign policy. In the Spanish Civil War Germany and Italy joined the rebelians who
were fighting against the left wing Republican. The main reason for this was their unwillingness to see
communist followers in Western Europe. After the Spanish Civil War both Hitler and Mussolini
became allies which efect the sharing similar foreign policies. As a result of their alliance they started
to support each other in expansionism. In November of 1937 Italy left the League of Nations and
joined the Anti Comintern Pact with Japan and Germany, which would ultimately lead to the

Aliens Are Real Essay
Have you ever wondered if people actually got abducted by aliens? Will most people who say they got
abducted come back telling the exact same story as the other person who got abducted and those
people don t even know each other. This is super crazy to me because those people don t even know
each other. What are the odds people would tell the exact same story, unless they actually got
abducted. This proves that it wasn t a hoax and something actually did happen to these people. After
lots of research, I believe that aliens are real. There are too many galaxies and evidence out there that
shows that aliens have to be real. In this report I am going to explain more about aliens and my
opinion about it. Many people say aliens are real. There ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most people think that aliens are not real. I asked 26 people and 15 of them said no, they do not
believe in aliens. This proves my point that most people do not believe in aliens. I think this because
no one has ever seen one so how are they suppose to believe it. Also, the picture you see on the
internet of aliens are likely photoshopped. You would think people that took the picture would take
more than one. Also, why are all of the picture so blurry. Another, reason people do not believe in
aliens because they are not in the bible. We have been researching for like hundreds of years and we
haven t found anything so how do we know that we will ever find anything. It is also unlikely people
have the habitat it takes to live like we do. How come all aliens look the exact same. Our universe is
over 100 billion years old why would other life wait for us. Life also needs a sable planet like earth to
live and that is super unlikely to find another one. God also specifically says that there is no other life
then us. All of these years that humans have been on earth you think they would of come by now. If
aliens are on earth, why haven t there been more pictures and videos. Like, the pictures people say
they took of aliens, why don t they take more than one. If you just saw a UFO you think they would
take more than 1 picture and video. All of this proves that aliens are not

Analysis of Baxter s Gryphon Essays
In Gryphon by Charles Baxter, a class of fourth grade students gets a substitute teacher. She is very
eccentric but knowledgeable and tells the whole class a lot of myths and facts. It is up to the class to
decide what is true or not.
In Gryphon, Miss Ferenczi specifically calls her wronged math answer a substitute fact but also tells
the class many other things and myths that are true. For example, she tells the class a great deal about
Egypt and that features of the Constitution of the United States are notable for their Egyptian ideas.
(145) Her whole lecture was complete fact about Egypt, a country she had a passion for. However, it
left the kids wondering if what she said was false, for she misled them earlier that day. ... Show more

She talks about tress in the world...that eat meat and witch doctors as doctors are magicians. (147) The
class receives a lot of factual information that makes them very interested. It causes them to think
deeply and discuss with their classmates. Miss Ferenczi even asks herself will the plants on the
windowsill be hurt (142) if she says what she tells her class. Her words cannot hurt anyone and they
did not. However, they did emotionally trouble Wayne, who was scared of the tarot death card Miss
Ferenczi showed him. This led to a physical fight between the narrator and Wayne because the
narrator was defending Miss Ferenczi, which was the only event that hurt someone. There are a lot of
things in schools that are completely factual and provable. These things are mainly in basic math, and
history. On the contrary, there are many disputable things in science and advanced math that could be
comparable to a substitute fact. In biology there is a long and ongoing debate between religious
parents and non religious on whether or not evolution is real. It s in textbooks, and depending on a
student s teacher, it will be taught in class whether a student chooses to believe it or not. Other than
that, there are still many theories rather than laws in science that challenge students to disprove them.
Math is rather the same in that there are a lot of theories named after old mathematicians. There is the
Pythagorean Theorem, Fundamental Theorems,

Condominimal Housing In Canada
In Canadian real estate there are three major types of ownership freehold, co operative and
condominimum. Each of them has its own advantages and disadvantages. The owner of each type is
responsible for maintaining the property and following the bylaws.
Condominium is a form of property that can be appied to almost any type of housing. To be an owner
of a condo means to own a unit built inside a condominimum complex. The unit does not come with
the land or any space outside the walls. There are monthly patments to maintain common areas, such
as elevators, stairs, parking lots, carpets, entrances, and recreational facilities. Each condominimum
has its own set of rules and regulations. The price of a condo depends on several factors: location, ...

It does not share outside walls with another house or building. Detached house tends to be the most
expensive type of property due to the land costs. To be an owner of a detached house means to own
both the house and the land it stands on. The maintenance of a detached house is a sole responsibility
of the owner. The owners pay the monthly bills for water, electricity and heating, as well as all the
other bills. Owners can make changes to their houses, but they must follow local bylaws. Detached
houses provide more space and privacy than other property types.
Co operative ownership can be divided into three categories: townhouse, semi detached house and
duplex/triplex.
Townhouse is a complex of units that are adjoined to each other, share common walls, and are
combined into one building. Usually townhouses consist of 2 3 floors and have a basement.
Townhouses are quite popular, because they are not too expensive and has low maintenance costs. The
price of the townhouse depends on the area, proximity to the subway stations, highways, universities,
business centers and other infrastructure.
Semi detached house is a property attached to another on one side. Owners maintain their own side,
like a detached house. To be an owner of a semi detached home means to own one side of the property
and the land it stands on. Semi detached houses are less expensive than detached houses. The price
depends on the area and

  • 2. Compare And Contrast The Help And Remember The Titans How do Boaz Yakin and Tate Taylor depict historical content to develop the theme of racism in Remember the Titans and The Help in similar and different ways? Introduction Remember the Titans is a 2000 American sports film directed by Boaz Yakin, set in Alexandria, Virginia. The film is based on the true story in 1971 of African American coach Herman Boone. Set in the time during segregation, he tries to integrate a racially divided school football team putting the fundamentals of footballs great tradition to the test. In contrast The Help is a 2011 American period drama film, directed by Tate Taylor, based on the best selling novel of the same name, written by Kathryn Stocket. Set in Jackson, Mississippi during the civil rights ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Remember the Titans we witness Coach Boone fighting for civil rights, signifying the image of an outsider integrating into a foreign white team as their coach. Director Boaz Yakin, uses techniques to strengthen Coach Boone s character where the initial hate and disrespect towards him succours the development of a meaningful arc. The disrespect and aggression is employed when a brick is thrown through his house window, threatening him with the derogatory coloured comments calling him Coach Coon . The pressure of quitting was not felt and heroically he encompasses the journey with Yakin emphasising Boones evocative discipline and determination forcing integration amongst the segregated football team. This technique is employed when we witness Coach Boone stepping up, pushing equality for the players in a determined strike to stop racial abuse for good. His actions initiate the forced building of friendship and acceptance when he forces both races to get to know and accept each other at the camp. Yakin heightens the themes of overcoming racism when Boone rallies the troops together to support their team mate during a sad time. Instinctively, the implicit segregation is evoked further bringing unity to the team, Coach Boone emerges as a hero to both the coloured and white community. Similarly, The Help s Aibileen, initially reluctant, puts her life at risk to tell her stories; as she does she builds up her courage, feeling compelled to express ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The forest stream had the lowest FBI value, followed by the urban stream and the agriculture stream. Figure 3. The relative frequency of the functional feeding groups of each stream type. Therefore, there is a trend in the number of species found in each stream type based on the riparian habitat. As the amount of organic pollution increased, there should have been a decrease in the species richness of the streams. Species richness also has an effect on the processing of leaf material. Less species richness due to organic pollution forces the litter breakdown to be dependent on microbial activity rather than shredders (Masese et al. 2014). In addition, microbial breakdown of leaf litter is accelerated by the presence of nutrients, which is high in agricultural streams (Masese et al. 2014). Therefore, the species richness of the agricultural stream should have been low and leaf processing would be controlled by bacteria. Although the agricultural stream had the highest species richness, the relative frequency of shredders was very low compared to the other functional feeding groups shown in Figure 3. Likewise, due to the organic pollution present in urban streams, it would be expected to have a low species richness and thus any leaf material would be processed by microbes as well. Furthermore, the forest stream should have had the highest species richness, which would in turn impact leaf processing by having the shredders drive leaf litter breakdown rather than microbes. The Family Biotic Index describes the water quality of a stream by averaging the tolerance values of all the individuals that were sampled (Hilsenhoff 1988). Based on the equation, ... • 4. Reflection On Nutrition There was a tremendous amount of effort that went in to the process of carrying out my behavior change in a successful manor. I had to rely on sheer dedication, will power and trust in appropriate programing in order to continuously make progress. I have found that there is no substitute for being willing to do little tasks consistently, for these tasks later yield large results. To ensure that I was going to maximize my potential of reaching my goal of gaining 2 3.5 lbs. of lean body mass, then I was going to need to have a detailed plan from the beginning. In order to provide adequate programing, I decided to seek knowledge from an experienced personal trainer. I did not have to go far as my mother has over 25 years of experience in the fitness world, and specifically personal training. Together we came up with a program that would allow for maximum muscular hypertrophy and strength increase, by carefully delegating the stimulation of training sessions and appropriate recovery. I then evaluated what I was going to need to consume in regards of nutrition. Assessing the appropriate amount of each nutrient was another key factor that I had to evaluate and then enforce into my daily life. Through these implementations there was a clear roadmap that would guide me to the end result I was seeking. With a clear vision and guide in place, the ability to carry out and complete all the prescribed actions. This is something that I did not find to be as easy as I had anticipated. It ... Systems of Backyard Poultry Production The raising of poultry mainly fulfills the purposes of meat, eggs and feather production, and sometimes for religious ceremonies (Scanes et al., 2004). Poultry are efficient converters of feed to food. Food of poultry origin serves the highest nutritional values, with egg being not only delicious but extremely nutritious and balance of all nutrients (Scanes et al., 2004). Poultry plays very important role for mankind through food supply, income and employment generation, providing raw materials to some industries, facilitating research works etc. Family poultry makes up to 80 percent of poultry stocks in low income food deficit countries (Pym et al., 2006) where owners raise poultry in small numbers ranging from single birds up to a few hundred. • 7. Honore De Balzac And The Napoleonic Period An unsure Pope Pius VII, not wanting to place a crown on the head of the soon to be Emperor of France in the extravagant Notre Dame Cathedral of Paris, who then takes matters into his own hand and places the crown on his own head (Selin Par. 1, 2, 13). This is the situation of Napoleon Bonaparte. After overthrowing the Directory in 1799, Napoleon worked to satisfy the needs of the people and recreate and better the French empire by ratifying reforms, such as the Napoleonic Code (Ligard Par. 2). This reform, and other aspects of French culture, helped shape the work of the renowned French novelist, Honore de Balzac. Therefore, France s culture during the years 1800 to 1814 were shaped by its monarchy while the literature of Honore de Balzac evinces its cultural connection. From the years 1804 to 1814, also referred to as the Napoleonic Age, France became an empire, ruled by its first emperor, Napoleon Bonaparte. When Bonaparte became emperor in 1804, it was because the Senate who had all been chosen by Napoleon passed a law making him Emperor of the French (Wilde Par. 6). If it were not for the people he put in Senate, Napoleon would not have become emperor because citizens were already beginning to disapprove the changes he was making to their government. Since he is able to chose men who will support him and follow his commands in Senate, it reveals how much power Bonaparte really holds in his empire. • 8. Claude Monet Haystacks Claude Monet was a French artist of the late 1800 s and early 1900 s. He used very gestural brush strokes in many of his painted, making them less realistic like any of the artist were doing at the time. He was thought of as the father of Impressionism. Impressionism is taking a image out of the realism skim and making it looked less real and instead more of a painting. This is done by the long and large brush strokes in many of Monet s pieces, making them an Impression of an image rather than going for a photographic look. The movement name actually came from reviewers stating that the work was an impression of an image rather than its own piece of art. This made it easy for Mondrian to make the pieces such like haystacks. The elements of the movement are color, line, and value. In the painting Monet used very bright and dark colors, and used large brushstroke lines as well. The value is seen in the darkness of the background and the brightness of the green lilies. This is also seen in many of the other pieces of impressionism in this time period. Monet employs the principles of organization through scale, emphasis, contrast, and proportion. He uses the close up scale of the haystack to show its emphasis in the piece. The contrast of the bright sky on the darker haystack is very defined as well. He used many elements of design in his piece as well. Line is a huge one; you can see the lines from the shadows, the parallel lines of the tops of the haystacks, and the landscape horizontal line as well. He also showed a ton of space since the haystacks are all on the left side, the right is a huge open space in the painting. Form is also used in the piece, considering the haystacks look 3D to the human eye. The color and value work together to create the darkness of the haystacks and shadows, and the light blue of the sky as well. Mass is the last element seen in this piece. Most people engage with social media without stopping to think what the effects are on our lives, whether positive or negative. Are we as a society becoming more concerned with Facebook friends than we are with the people we interact with face to face in our daily lives? What will the longterm effects of today s social media use be? There are many positive aspects, but there are equally as many dangers that come with the use of sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google +, Tumblr, Instagram, gaming sites, and blogs. Social media has both negative and positive effects on society, it is up to the user to decide what impact they want to make. In order to make the right choices, we must dig in and research this topic thoroughly. Recent research has documented how technology, and social networking sites (SNS; e.g., Facebook, Instagram) in particular, have given rise to a growing obsession with impression management and self presentation online. Whether it s searching for the perfect Instagram photo filter or carefully crafting a humblebrag Facebook status about a recent publication, users frequently engage in selective self presentation strategies to portray an ideal self through social media (Chou Edge, 2012; Manago, Graham, Greenfield, Salimkhan, 2008). Disengagement Theory Case Study In a contemporary social work practice, Mr Anderson report detailed his symptoms which points towards possibility of early brain damage (dementia), although further investigation is important for early intervention and to find out what support he and his carer needs. Disengagement theory claimed that ageing is inevitable, it is natural and acceptable for older people to withdraw from the society according to Cumming Henry, (1961). Drawing from a biological perspective, Mr Anderson s physical energy has decreased, as older adult energy diminishes as they age; also, his interest in the society has lessen, he now has fewer interaction. Afterwards, Columbus sought out a higher education in the fields of cartography, navigation, and astronomy. These topics that he learned later would fuel his ambition for exploration . In Do the Right Thing and Malcolm X, Spike Lee would focus on a particular character, as if to zone out everyone else within the film. In doing so, he was able to get his point across because the viewer had no choice but to take in what was being said and the image remained in the back of our minds. At the same time, Spike Lee had a way of focusing on specific areas or backgrounds within the film. A great example is a scene in Do the Right Thing, where Spike Lee, himself was walking down the sidewalk, delivering a pizza. The point of him delivering the pizza didn t really mean much. What stood out about the scene is when Spike Lee left the scene and the camera remained. Those seconds of footage displayed a sidewalk with an image, written by kids with chalk. Another great display of Spike Lee s vision is how he could change scenes in the middle of conversation. Madison wrote the first drafts of the U.S. Constitution, co wrote the Federalist Papers, and sponsored the Bill of Rights.
