Grahani is the specialized part of the
Mahasrotas.It is the site of the pittadara
kala, it is considered as the site of the
Pachaka pitta which help for the ahara
pachana

situated in between the
Amashaya and Pakwashaya
.
Charaka
• It is the part situated above
the Nabhi,it is the site of
Agni and does Grahana of
Anna and it is supported

strength of Agni .

5. Anatomical coreelation of Grahani as
small intestine
 Grahani is said to be situated above the
Nabi(umbilicus) and between the
Amashaya(stomach) and Pakwashaya(large
intestine).It is the site of Agni.
Small Intestine is the part of GI tract extending
between the Pyloric Sphincters of Stomach
and Ileocecal valve ,which opens into Large
Intestine
