This is a simple and easy to follow powerpoint presentation I had completed for an ICT class at my college. Its purpose was to showcase a basic knowledge of a topic within our field of study, as well as, create a presentation with animation and transitions to prove understanding of how to optimize presentation effectiveness.

2. WHAT IS A STROKE?
A stroke (CVA- Cerebro Vascular Accident) can be caused by bleeding in the brain or by a
blood clot that blocks blood flow to the brain.
Post-Stroke Symptoms: Difficulty walking, speech impairment, and trouble with small
everyday tasks (ie: picking up a fork).

3. WHAT IS A PHYSICAL THERAPIST?
Physical Therapist (aka "PT's") aid the injured or ill to help
improve their patient's movement and/or ability to cope
with pain they may be experiencing.

KEY
● Exercise intensity is of ample importance when
dealing with a patient whose suffered from a
stroke.
● The process should be slow, deliberate, and
progressive
● Increase intensity with improvement

6. EXAMPLES OF EXERCISES● Sit-to-stand transfers
● Climbing stairs for repetitions
● Standing leg raises
● Hip extensions
● Walking for distance

7. RECAP
● A stroke caused by bleeding in the brain or a blood clot that blocks
blood flow to the brain.
● Symptoms of post-stroke may include: Motor skill deficiencies, difficulty
walking, trouble in performing simple tasks
● Exercise intensity should be stressed in a deliberate manner, slowly
increasing intensity with improving conditions
