How Did Rosa Parks Influence The Civil Rights Movement
Rosa Parks, Gloria Richardson, Fannie Lou Hamer, and Dorothy Height made a difference in the Civil
Rights Movement through protest. Out of all the activists from the civil rights movement that are
highly spoken of and remembered today, only one is a woman. Her name is Rosa Parks. Rosa Parks is
a famous leader of the Civil Rights Movement. She is the only women mentioned in most stories
about the movement, because of her courage and influential behavior that started the Montgomery Bus
Boycott. On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks got on a bus on her way home from a long day of work.
She took a seat at the front of the colored section of the bus, and waited for the bus to take her home.

She openly challenged the Mississippi government to desegregate the state, and ended up winning.
She was severely beaten throughout her career as an activist. She was arrested, beaten, shot at, and
threatened. She was beaten so badly in a Mississippi jail, that she suffered permanent kidney damage.
Fannie Lou Hamer helped African Americans be able to vote, by teaching them how to read and write,
making it easier for them to pass literacy tests. She increased the rate of African American voters, but
because of her bold actions, she was kicked off of the plantation she lived on and lost her job. She
spoke to a newspaper telling them, They kicked me off the plantation, they set me free. It s the best
thing that could happen. Now I can work for my people ( Fannie ). Fannie went on to work for her
people by co founding the Mississippi Democratic Freedom party. She televised a democratic
convention discussing the amount of segregation in Mississippi and the cruelty of some people in her
town. The government then began to realise how unconstitutional all of these segregation laws were.
Fannie Lou Hamer worked for her people, fighting for what she believed in, until the day she died

Health Disparities Case Study
Health Disparities are unjust and unequal quality of health or health care outcomes which most often
occurs as a result of margin in educational level, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and demographics.
Indeed, equality in health care is far from perfect in America, there are a number of socio ecological
factors educational level, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and demographics which commonly cause
disparities between the healthcare qualities of different peoples, nations, cultures, and other
classifications. In the case of my focus area of HIV, despite deterrence efforts, some sets of people are
not only affected by HIV/AIDS, STDs, but faces higher mortality rate compare to others. Majority of
these cases can be linked to disparities ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This population will are prone to unhealthy eating habits, fewer doctors visit, and have higher risk
with less coverage. According to CDC s report on preventable hospitalization on rates were higher for
residents of lower income neighborhoods compared with higher income neighborhoods and were
higher for non Hispanic blacks and Hispanics compared with non Hispanic whites during 2001 2009.
Additionally this group, may not have the options to select from multiple list of providers because
doctors, hospitals and health care practitioner, are often inclined to move out to wealthier areas, in
order to make profit to cover the cost of running their practice. Such actions, ultimately, causes lower
income areas to experience minimal and/or poor health care services even though they often need it
the most. Throughout the next decade, Healthy People 2020 will assess health disparities in the U.S.

outcomes in relation to demographic factors including: Race and ethnicity, Gender, Sexual identity

What Is Frankenstein Sublime
The Romantic period, an era bursting with art and literature, was home to many great writers, writers
such as Percy Bysshe Shelley, William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and Mary Shelley. One
can imagine that among the many topics that preoccupied the many different works and ideas of these
Romantic poets and writers was the Romantic conception of sublime, or idea of being able to connect
to one s own experiences of awe and other emotions like those of terror or even danger. The writers
and poets of the Romantic era would no doubt have been familiar with this concept. In fact, this the
Romantic conception of sublime shows up repeatedly throughout Mary Shelley s work, Frankenstein.

Even I, depressed in mind, and my spirits continually agitated by gloomy feelings, even I was
pleased... He felt as if he has been transported to Fairy Land and enjoyed a happiness seldom tasted by

(Shelley 112 113). Shelley then has Victor go on to recite a section from William Wordsworth s
Tintern Abbey, the sounding cataract haunted him like a passion: the tall rock, the mountain, and the
deep and gloomy wood, their colours and their forms, were then to him an appetite; a feeling, and a
love that had no need of remoter charm, by thought supplied, or any interest unborrow d from the eye
(Shelley 113). When reflecting back on the excerpt from Tintern Abbey one is able to recognize that it
speaks of solitude through nature, which parallels to way that Shelley has Victor go off on his escapes
or his long periods of solitude where he is surrounded by nature. In his poem, Wordsworth is able to
paint an ominous scene in nature, mainly by the use of the words gloomy and haunted, which his

The Role Of Cowslip s Warren In Richard Adams Watership Down
In the novel, Watership Down, Richard Adams, Adams includes three warrens in the novel. First, we
come across the Sandleford warren. Next, is Hazel s warren. The final warren is Cowslip s warren. All
three warrens have their similarities and differ.
One way Cowslip s warren differs from Sandleford and Hazel s warren is that it is perceived as a
utopia. The reason for this is because the rabbits there are strange rabbits. These rabbits are fed by a
farmer; only to get eaten at the end. But these rabbits do not know their ending. When Hazel s warren
env=counted them, they asked Cowslip s warren questions. The questions that started with w, were
always ignored. Cowslip s warren is an anarchy because not one rabbit has authority over another.

Fireworks
Introduction Whether it be the 4th of July, a day at Disneyland, or Chinese New Year, fireworks can
be used to appeal to people of all ages, genders, and races. These low explosive pyrotechnic devices
are primarily used for aesthetic or entertainment purposes. Fireworks come in various forms, including
sparklers, firecrackers, basic fireworks, and ariel or display fireworks. Those who watch firework
displays find that those can be broken into smaller categories by four primary effects. These effects
include noise, light, smoke, and floating material. Because of the varying types available, it is
common for fireworks to be classified by how they perform, whether it be on the ground or more
commonly, aerial. The overall dangers associated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The scientific aspect of fireworks grew in Germany, where advancement became the key goal in
pyrotechnics. It wasn t until the nineteenth century that fireworks also became popular in America.
Firework development, such as the forest green color, is still continuing today (Gondhia).
Discussion
A basic firework, sparkler, firecracker, and aerial all have different components in which produce
different reactions. Different components may also be added to an aerial firework to produce various
colors and shapes. A basic firework is made up of six basic ingredients. These ingredients include fuel,
an oxidising agent, a reducing agent, regulators, a coloring agent, and binders. Charcoal or black
powder is the most common fuel in fireworks. Other elements like thermite can be used in place of
black powder, although fuels usually contain an organic element. The fuel initially starts to work
inside the firework when it begins to lose electrons to atoms within the oxidiser, thereby reducing and
releasing atoms from the oxidiser. When this occurs, bonds are formed between the fuel and oxygen
atoms, causing the product to be somewhat stable. However, only a minimal amount of energy is
required to start the combustion of this fuel oxidiser compound. As a result, the solid mixture liquefies
and vaporizes into the flame of the ignition causing a massive release of energy. This act marks the
beginning of combustion (Gondhia). The oxidising agent produces

Chicago Symphony Orchestra Description Essay
Entering the Chicago Symphony Center my face must have looked completely memorized as I gazed
at the design and architecture structure that was before me. The amount of intricate detail that was on
the ceilings and trim work must have taken months to complete with a construction army. As I walked
through the hall and stepped into the elevator the smell of fresh clean red carpets filled the air with a
slight scent of floral. Before I entered the venue a punch size bowl of cough drops was to my left. The
usher grabbed my ticket and escorted me to my seat right in front on the third level. The entire venue
was covered with three basic colors gold, cream, and red. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra, founded
in 1904, consists of three levels with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before the orchestra began to play you could hear the entire audience shuffling in their seats and
coughing up a storm. Once the conductor stood in front of the entire orchestra; silence began to flow
over the entire audience. With a wave of his baton the loud sound of the baritone horn could only be
heard. Its almost as if the entire venue was empty. All the woman in the orchestra were dressed in
black attire and the men were dressed in black tuxedos. The conductor was wearing a tuxedo looking
suit with in black with a longer backside tail. The title of the symphony that I attended was Gustav
Mahler Symphony No.7. The symphony was conducted by former CSO Principal Conductor Bernard
Haitink. The style of the Mahler Symphony No.7 is classical with five movements. Sonata form is the
first movement with an introduction of slow tempo, pace of the music, that began with a dark timbre
sounding from a baritone horn. The exposition concludes with a march theme that has the repetition of
the march theme from the introduction. Following is the development, that lasts quite long and then

Not only are garden hose reels very practical, but they can also improve the look of your yard. Some
decorative hose reels are attractive in their own right, but the main reason they can help improve the

it from becoming damaged or becoming an obstacle in your yard. There are a few types of garden
hose reels available to fit different needs. Wall Mount Hose Reels The wall mount style as the name

Summary Of Herman Hesse s Demian
Herman Hesse s Demian emphasizes the importance of change and self discovery. Emil Sinclair, the
story s protagonist, experiences various adjustments, which in time influence his values and identity.
As the story develops, Sinclair acquaints himself to Max Demian, an intellectual being, who further
encourages him to acknowledge the human s definite capabilities. Through his interpretation of Cain,
Demian impacts the way in which Sinclair views the world. His understanding of the story contradicts
the standard Christian narrative. Seeing as his principal conflict revolves around the distinction of the
good and the bad, Sinclair continuously suppresses his feelings towards the controversial aspect of
things. Through this, one becomes aware of the depicted duality of Cain and Abel. Furthermore,
Sinclair progressively becomes intrigued with the world s divergence which is contradictory to
Christianity and its values. The incorporation of Cain and Abel is quite controversial, in terms of
society and its standards. All in all, Hesse impeccably interprets Cain s mark by bringing awareness to
the characters possessing alternate mindsets. This essay serves to address the interpretation of Cain s
mark, as Hesse demonstrates its existence through distinguishing individuals, and its effect on society.
Conforming with societal norms, the story s protagonist is patently characterized through his
innocence and his perception of the world. Due to its assurance of freedom and safety, Emil

Analysis Of Of Mice And Men And Death Of A Salesman
Julia Savu
Coursework question:
How does the writer Of Mice And Men and Death Of A Salesman present the theme of hopelessness
and failure of the American Dream? American Dream: Every women and men should have the
opportunity to achieve their goals and their dreams, no matter of their social class or their ability.
Hopelessness: Having dreams/goals but knowing there s a small chance of them being accomplished
in future.
The writers of the books Of Mice And Men and Death Of A Salesman have a certain use of
words/phrases that demonstrate a clear use of the themes hopelessness and failure of the American
Dream .
To begin with, John Steinbeck has used the following quote: I could live so easy have a girl maybe .
This quote presents how one of the main characters George is feeling hopeless about his dreams as he
knows that taking care of Lennie would mean his dreams will be hard to achieve as it is a big
responsibility to be with Lennie due to his mental difficulties. Furthermore, the writer has used the
phrase: I could live so easy if I didn t have you on my tail gives us a clear suggestion that George is
directly telling Lennie how easy his life would be without him. John Steinbeck is also directly telling
us how George and Lennie present the theme of hopelessness in the book by showing how Lennie has
to be taken care of by George and how Lennie is and extra advantage for George because of his strong
physical ability.

Ironically the 1965 act was in response to issues with low academic performance of impoverished
students (as will be discussed later, standardized testing has a negative impact on low income
students). The groundwork for Common Core as we know it was laid out much later. During the Bush
administration the No Child Left behind created a standardized test purgatory. Schools facilitated
cheating and a chronic issue with schools lowering the passing rates created unsustainable issues. The
economic recession and the Obama Administration also attempted to reform the system with what is
known as the Race to the Top . Under this system there was a funding incentive for high performing
schools. This system also relied heavily on standardized testing. An interesting repercussion of the
Race to the Top is that it created a massive data drive to collect student information. Out of these two
failed programs and an economic recession came the drive for Common Core. common core was
developed in 2009 and implemented in 2010, it was then accepted by 45 states. The education industry
is (books, software, curriculum) are aligning their products to match common core. The National
Governors Association is the actual legal owner of the Common Core Standards. The Florida
standards which are based on Common Core were rolled out a little differently. During the 2013 2014

Texting And Driving Cause Death Essay
The facts are astounding and horrific. According to the Association for Safe and International Travel,
nearly 1.3 million individuals are killed in road related crashes each year. This accounts for 3,287

The story provides enough information to believe the lover is actually a paranormal being. I believe it
is a paranormal being that follows the lady from the story because of the all the evidence it provides.
At first we are told the lover made the lady an eternal or a promise out of this world. As well, the story
says that no human eye was watching her. This piece of evidence is really important because it makes
the reader think and relate the title of the story with a question of whether the lover is human or indeed

Strengths And Weaknesses Of The Re-Pricing Model
Koch and MacDonald, (2010), discussed the problem of finding an optimal Gap ratio, they stated that
there is no specific optimal Gap ratio for all financial institutions and each company must evaluate its
overall risk and return profile and objectives to determine its optimal GAP . A number of hedging
studies suggest that a full hedge might not always be optimal for a financial intermediary
(Grammatikos and Saunders, 1983; Junkus and Lee,
1985).
Wetmore and Brick, (1990), argue that zero Gap may not be optimal because of the basis risk, which
implies that a financial institutions might be in better position with non zero Gap. 2 8 1 3 Weaknesses

It basically predicts the maximum possible loss given a certain scenario by using probability
distributions. This can be done in two ways, either by approximating the distribution by a parametric
approximation such as a normal distribution or by considering the actual distribution. Usually, the
confidence level used is 95 percent (Jorion, 2001). For example, suppose a daily VaR is stated as
$100,000 for a 95 percent level of confidence. This means that there is only 5 percent chance that the
loss the next day will be greater than $100,000. In other words, we expect this portfolio to lose more
than $100,000 in one out of twenty days. Therefore, VaR is a measure of the worst expected loss that a
portfolio may suffer over a period of time that has been specified by the user, under normal market

The Role of Woman
Throughout the course of the semester I feel as thought the roles of women from the readings we have
read all relate to each other. I don t think that the roles of women in British and colonial society
changed much, if not at all. Each reading that we have read, the women s role is mainly to stay home
with her children to raise them and tend to them while the husband works and makes the income while
sheltering his family. Another role that the women throughout these time periods is that most of them
don t know the outside world because of not doing much but raising their children. A role of women
throughout British and colonial society is that the pressure of society influences on them. The only
role of women that changed throughout these periods was their freedom and privileges.
During the Victorian Age, the Angel in the House displayed the roles of women in British and colonial
society. The Angel in the House was your ideal women and a part of the upper class in society. This
woman was educated, as she would teach her children how to read. The Angel in the House was very
devoted to her husband, but most of the time she was relatively unhappy. Two readings that talk about
the roles of the women, is the Angel in the House is the poem Angel in the House by Patmore and the
reading Of Queens Garden by Ruskin.

should be. This woman is held up to many expectations and as a

Why Special Needs Students Should Be Mainstreamed
Why special needs students should be mainstreamed What is Mainstreaming? According to
(Mainstreaming: The Special Needs Child Goes to School), Mainstreaming means that the special
needs child attends a regular classroom along with students who are his or her actual (not
development) age. Mainstreaming means that the child is not kept isolated in a special class, away
from peers, but is included just like everyone else. Most children that have physical disabilities,
learning difficulties, or emotional issues are placed into Special Education classes. In these classes,
there are teachers who are there to help them exceed in things they normally would not be able to do.
Every student is different and every child has their own disabilities. Each individual s case can differ
from being mild, moderate, to extremely severe. (Mainstreaming Special Education in the Classroom)
Regardless of the issues they might face, it does not make their importance any less. Each student s
abilities and deficits must be examined against the pros and cons of mainstreaming to come up with an
optimal choice on a case by case basis. (Brighthub Edu) There are individuals opinions on
(www.debate.org) where they argue on whether students with special needs should be mainstreamed,
and on one of the comments a person stated Their rights are not more important than those of the
normal children No, they are not more important, but they are equally important. On another comment

Description Of Body Dysmorphic Disorder
Body Dysmorphic Disorder Paige Herrell Northeast State Community College Body Dysmorphic
Disorder DIAGNOSTIC CRITERIA Preoccupation with an imagined defect in appearance is one way
to possibly detect body dysmorphic disorder. If a slight physical anomaly is present, the person s
concern with the body part is extremely excessive. The preoccupation causes significant distress or
impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning. Repetitive behaviors may
occur; including mirror checking, excessive grooming, skin picking, reassurance seeking, clothes
changing, comparing one s appearance with other people. HISTORY Body dysmorphic disorder was
first described as dysmorphophobia by an Italian psychiatrist, ... Show more content on

Women are usually obsessed with their legs and breasts, while men are obsessed with muscle size and
genitals. Body dysmorphic disorder also shows up in other countries. BDD is a common disorder
among individuals seeking aesthetic surgery in Iran. In Brazil, prevalence of the disorder in
dermatologic patients was evaluated in a sample of 150 patients in a cosmetic group, 150 in a general
dermatology group, and 50 control subjects. Prevalence in the cosmetic group was 14%, compared
with 6.7% for the general group, and 2% for the control group. CAUSES Exact causes of the
condition have not been verified, though there are plenty theories that exist. Heredity may have a big
impact on the development of body dysmorphic disorder. Prevalence of the disorder is four times
higher in first degree relatives of individuals that already have the condition than in relatives that do
not have it. Brain anomalies may be important causes. Functional abnormalities in visual processing
and limbic systems have been documented. A study found disturbances in whole brain structural
topologic organization in subjects with body dysmorphic disorder. Another study investigating the
potential role of early life sexual, physical, or emotional abuse in the development of body
dysmorphic disorder found that subjects with the condition had more retrospective experiences of
sexual and physical abuse during childhood or adolescence

Inequalities In The South Analysis
As the colonies in the South flourished and the wealthy class became an apparent part in society, the
evidence of inequality grew. Inequality was present in religion, labor, and everyday society. This
inequality affected the South for and the rest of the North American continent, shaping society and the
way of life for many years to come. During the seventeenth century, religion played a vital role in the
lives of Americans. Even though this was true, the Southern people did not communicate their beliefs
and many did not become members of a church. After 1642, the governor of Virginia, William
Berkeley, forced his colony to become pure Anglican, pushing out the Puritans and Quakers. By the
end of the 1600s, Anglicans dominated the Chesapeake Bay area, and during the eighteenth century,
Anglicanism became the most apparent religion in the South. Anglicans were not forced to publically
announce their religion, and they focused on stressing Christianity as a reasonable faith and the
goodness of God. The unique climate of the South allowed for a prosperous economy of crops. The
warm weather and amount of rainfall made it possible to grow bizarre crops, such as rice and tobacco.
These crops were prized by the countries in Europe. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

indentured society ended and was replaced by the use of African

Essay about La Economia de Ecuador

Comparing Justice In Electra And Sophocles
Sophocles s Electra focuses mainly on the justifications of some actions, Sophocles sees justice as the
most important thing that leads to the actions of others. Herodotus is nearly the exact opposite. He
seems to not see any importance with justice, within The Histories he shows that the most important
thing when writing is showing what caused certain events to happen, as well as evidence to both sides
of the story, allowing the reader to decide what really happened. Although these two texts and their
authors seem to be completely different, they do share similarities. They both try to decide and show
how and why things happened; the causation of events. Sophocles shows justice as the only cause of
all events while Herodotus tries to show all the possibilities and sides of historical ... Show more

In today s world, justice is defined simply as The process or result of using laws to fairly judge and
punish crimes and criminals. However, Sophocles helps to show that justice, in the time of Electra, is
constituted by anything that is deemed as honorable. At the beginning of the play, Orestes states,
When I went to the oracle of Apollo, to discover how best to take revenge for my father revenge on his
killers that is my right and due here s what Apollo said: Place not your trust in an army s sword or
shield. Use cunning. Kill them yourself and justly so (4). In making this speech, Orestes shows how
justice, in this case revenging someone s murder, is seen as a very honorable act in this time period.
There are other examples of Sophocles view of justice within his play. The two main acts of justice are
that Sophocles focus on are: the murder of King Agamemnon, by his wife Clytemnestra and her lover
Aegisthus, the other, the main focus of the play, the murder of Clytemnestra and Aegisthus for
murdering King Agamemnon. However, can these acts really be seen as

Impact Of Trade On The International Trade Market
The international trade of goods across the world accounts for approximately 60% of the world Gross
Domestic Product (The World Bank, 2014). A great proportion of goods transactions occur every
second. The primary question is whether international trade benefits a country as an entirety, and, if
so, why would a country implement protective trade policies to restrict particular exports? To address
this question, this essay aims to explore the impact of trade on various economic stakeholders,
including consumers, producers, labour and government and, furthermore, will compare models and
theories with reality to ascertain the true winner/ loser in the international trade market.

Consumers definitely benefit from increasing purchasing power in terms of lower relative prices.
Nonetheless, the real prices of certain commodities such as lamb, tobacco and beef have increased
over time due to increasing world average income, which encourages world demand. Interestingly,
developing countries, which form the predominant exporters of primary commodities, earn lower
relative prices over time, for instance, palm oil arrives primarily from Indonesia and Malaysia and raw
sugar arrives mostly from Brazil and Thailand. Contrariwise, the world suppliers of lamb are the
United Kingdom, Spain and Australia and, moreover, 14% of world bovine meat arrives from the
United States (Simoes, 2013). Therefore, it can be argued that greater advantages are granted to
suppliers in developed countries than those in developing countries by trade liberalisation.
Aside from the impact on price, the opening of an economy attracts imports into the domestic country,
which results in the provision of variety for consumers. For example, eleven mobile phone companies
control 66.6% of the world market share, inclusive of Samsung, Sony, Apple, Nokia and Huawei.
These companies originated in Korea, Japan, United States, Finland and China respectively (Williams,
2015). Consumer s gain from choice and, therefore, higher utility can be achieved.

The Titanic In The Sea Of Titanic
Introduction The titanic was one of the supreme distinguished, British passenger liners; it was
commissioned by the white star and was manufactured in Harland and Wolff shipyard, which is

titanic was an iconic structure, it was the most quickest and most impressive liner created during that
era. After three years passing, the titanic construction had been completed, the deluxe streamline
machine was ready to set sail from Southampton to New York, on board was many civilians which
included stingy millionaires to heartbroken emigrants, all in searching for a new life in the USA.
Whilist the voyage was taking its toll on the fifth day, the titanic was making an instantaneous

Sunday 14th February 1912, temperatures, severely destabilised, the sky was clear and the sea was
calm like a floating river, all these influential conditions made ice in the sea, difficult to sea in the

The Importance Of A Happy Life
Would you be willing to let go of your deepest darkest fears to pursue the honorable? According to
Seneca, For what prevents us from saying that the happy life is to have a mind that is free, lofty,
fearless and steadfast a mind that is placed beyond the reach of fear, beyond the reach of desire, that
counts virtue the only good, baseness the only evil, and all else but a worthless mass of things, which
come and go without increasing or diminishing the highest good, and neither subtract any part from
the happy life nor add any part to it?
A man thus grounded must, whether he wills or not, necessarily be attended by constant cheerfulness
and a joy that is deep and issues from deep within, since he finds delight in his own resources, and
desires no joys greater than his inner joys. Seneca s statement shows the rejection of all base pleasures
and desires to be the foundation for good stoic philosophy. Stoicism, a Hellenistic philosophical
school started by Zeno of Citium in the early 3rd century B.C, flourished in Ancient Rome during the
time of Cicero and Caesar. The Stoics stressed personal freedom, virtue, natural law, reason, and self
control. Stoic philosophers such as Marcus Aurelius and Seneca claimed a life of discipline and
moderation in which one would give up their pleasures and ignore pain. In Shakespeare s Julius
Caesar , Brutus, one of Caesar s best friends who conspired against him, was determined to be an
honorable Stoic. At first sight, Brutus s attempt to

Money In Congress
When the founders of the United States created this country, they wanted the citizens to have an
election system which was fair, and they did not want outside influences affecting these elections.
However, through out our countries history, money has been able to influence elections. Therefore, it
is important that the government install a limit on how much one can contribute to a campaign.
Because of this, congress has worked vary hard to limit the amount of money that one is able to
contribute during a federal election. While congress had been working hard for decades to make these

political parties and legislative caucus committees are also only allowed to contribute $75,000 for
state representative elections, Finally, the bill states that these committees are only allowed to
contribute $50,000 for any other election in Illinois. Although this act states how much a political
party is allowed to contribute to a candidate, this new legislation also documents how much money
these committees are allowed to receive during an election cycle. The act states that during an election
cycle, a political party is only allowed to accept $10,000 of contributions from an individual, $50,000

Analysis Of The Book Red Bird
The book Red Bird has a series of poems written by Mary Oliver. She gives her perspective of the
world and the gifts the world gives up. Oliver captures moments from the transformation of a
capitllaar to some really dark bittersweet moments. Oliver is the true Anthologist because every poem
she wrote comes to life. Due to the references and each scenes Oliver tries to create she illustrates true
Eco Criticism. Oliver s illustration of Eco criticism relates to themes of love, sorrow, empowerment,
and laughter, which makes one reflect a certain way. As a result of how Oliver captured her works, she
makes one look at the world at a different perspective, and have a peerlessness for the world. Eco
criticism is the the genuine relationship that humans have with the environment. Eco criticism is
illustrated all through out in the poetry in Red Bird. Eco Criticism relates to themes of the poems in
Red Bird, because in each of the poems she gives her perspective of how and all humans should look
at the the natural world. One of the references to literary theory Eco criticism, is when Oliver shows
how she embraces nature in the beginning poem Red Bird to the last poem Red Bird explains Himself

poems capture her journey in life, and how she looks the world from the beginning to the end. Life is a

Math and Graph Models Behind the Olympic Paul Vault Jump
Introduction
Every 4 years, the Olympic games is a major event around the world. International athletes come
together to represent their own country at a sport. A gold medal is given to the winner of each game.
This math internal assessment aims to consider the trends of the wining men gold medalist s pole vault
height from 1932 to 2008, and predicting 1940 and 1944 record, when the Olympic games were not
held due to the world war.
Data Height Record 1932 2008
The table below shows the men pole vault gold medalists at various Olympic games between 1932
and 2008.
Table 1: the winning heights of men s pole vault in Olympic games for years between 1932 and 2008.

The war, however, stopped the improvement of the heights record. Therefore, we could deduce that
the depression between 1936 and 1948 was due to lack of training due to the war. When the games
resumed in 1948, the athletes started to progress their record once again.
As you can see above, we could refine our model, disregarding the 1932 and 1936 record.
Graph 5: Graph of winning heights (m) against years since 1948
This refined model is better representation of data than graph 1 and 2 even if the line does not pass
through every point. Passing through point increased from 2 to 3 (4, 52 and 56) and majority of points
are very close to the line. It is true that some points, such as point 16 and 20 quite far from the line,
but these points can be disregarded in this model, as the line is touching the following point 24.
This gives the new linear equation y=0.0264x+4.4338 However, even though refined graph has better
equation than those of past one, there are some limitations with using linear equation to determine the
graph. Since a linear graph increases infinitely, and as humans have restraints to achieve to record,
their winning height can t keep increasing at this rate. It is not sustainable. Natural Logarithm Model
After considering the limitation of linear function and graph, I have discovered applying any model of
equation that has an infinite increase range, such as quadratic or exponential, is unrealistic, since the

How To Play A Victim
In your life, you can choose to play a Victim, with a capital V or you can play or a Creator with a

Team Building and Development
It takes extraordinary leadership to assemble great teams. Leaders who are not reluctant to course
right, making challenging choices and launch principles of implementation that are continually being
met and enhancing them at all times. Whether in the working environment, expert sports, or our
nearby community, team building needs a keen understanding of individuals, their merits and what
makes them eager to work with others. Llopis mentioned, Team building is both an art and a science
and the manager who constantly brings out great performance teams is worth their weight in gold
(2012).
Building organizations needs the knowledge and skill to build ever lasting teams. This is the reason
why most managers can never become leaders and why most leaders never achieve the utmost summit
of success. It involves the knack to ace the craft of individuals and knowing how to move hundreds of
individuals at the right place and at the right time. It means to know how each individual thinks and
how to best use their skills properly at all times. It s like playing a continuous match of chess realizing
that each incorrect move can cost the organization thousands of dollars, if not millions (Llopis, 2012).
All through life, we all like to be made to feel commendable and acknowledged, realizing that our
presence can be a piece of vital

Essay on Pharmacy service improvement at CVS
Modeling Assignment Case: Pharmacy service improvement at CVS
Case: Pharmacy Service Improvement at CVS
INTRODUCTION
Consumer Value Store (CVS) opened in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1963. The company was one of
America s largest retail drugstores and had 4,000 stores and revenue of $24.2 billion by 2002.
Generally, a company that serves pharmacy service must emphasize customer s satisfaction, customer
s safety, and process efficiency. The purpose of CVS is to satisfy consumer s needs, guarantee the
accuracy of filling prescription and the health of customers, and improve the existing pharmacy
fulfillment process. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The technician must search for the right prescription for customers among the bags, verify customers
identities, and take any required payments from customers (McAfee, 2006).
The MAJOR PROBLEMS AT CVS s PHARMACY FULFILLMENT PROCESS
According to the analysis of the pharmacy fulfillment process by PSI team, a number of major
problems in the five basic steps should be concerned and emphasized by the company.
The drop off stage has a major problem for nobody watching in store drop off window. This problem
will cause the decrease of customer s satisfaction because customers cannot drop off their scripts and
make the requested pickup time at that time and also waste customer s valuable time. If no pharmacy
staffs serve customers in any service time, the company will lose the trust from customers and will not
achieve its organizational goals.
The data entry stage has two major problems. The first problem is drug utilization review (DUR). As
showed by PSI team for the pharmacy fulfillment process, DURs arise frequently and pharmacists
must waste time to intervene. CVS s central database of customer fails to update and understand
customers newest condition, so that the issue of DUR triggers customer s dissatisfaction and wastes a
lot of time for pharmacists. The second problem in the data entry stage is no refill allowance. Many
customers may lose track of how many refills that were allowed and drop off an ineligible script

Booker T Washington Dbq
Two important figures in history who were well known for educating African Americans and who also
changed the way the U.S education system worked were Booker T. Washington who focused on
having education for real life jobs and not asking for equality from whites. He just focused on getting
help from whites and accepting their place on earth. And W.E.B. du bois who focused on the exact
opposite things that of booker t Washington. Du bois focused on a strategy called gradualist strategy.

Washington was born April 5, 1856 into slavery by his mother Jane. Jane, booker, and his older
brother john were 3 of the six slaves working on a small farm. Booker s father was a local white
farmer. There isn t much to say about booker s father because a white man impregnating a black
women slave was not tolerated, especially not in the south. Because of that Jane guarded his identity.
The emancipation proclamation was the event which changed Booker T. Washington s fate, making it
possible for him to be free and get and education. Jane left the plantation with Booker and John. They
went on a ten day journey to West Virginia, Martinez 2 Where Jane rejoined her husband. At age 10,

W.E.B. Dubois focused on a strategy called the gradualist political strategy. The gradualist political
strategy tells that Du Bois was very focused on African Americans being book smart to get anywhere

from reading, writing, and organized education. He felt the smarter the African American got, the
more equal they were to the whites. African Americans felt like it was impossible since some grew up

Trigger Point Of Muscle Demographics
Trigger points, also known as trigger sites or muscle knots, are described as hyperirritable spots in
skeletal muscle that are associated with palpable nodules in taut bands of muscle fiber. These very
localized areas in muscle tissues and/or their tendinous attachments are often felt as taut bands when
palpated, which elicits pain. A trigger point is a very circumscribed region in which relatively few
motor units seem to be contracting. So it is localized spot of tenderness in a nodule of a palpable taut
band of contractured muscle fibers The exact nature of a trigger point is not known. It has been
suggested that certain nerve endings in the muscle tissues may become sensitized by algogenic
substances that create a localized zone of hypersensitivity

What Is Frankenstein Sublime The Romantic period, an era bursting with art and literature, was home to many great writers, writers such as Percy Bysshe Shelley, William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and Mary Shelley. One can imagine that among the many topics that preoccupied the many different works and ideas of these Romantic poets and writers was the Romantic conception of sublime, or idea of being able to connect to one s own experiences of awe and other emotions like those of terror or even danger. The writers and poets of the Romantic era would no doubt have been familiar with this concept. These low explosive pyrotechnic devices are primarily used for aesthetic or entertainment purposes. Fireworks come in various forms, including sparklers, firecrackers, basic fireworks, and ariel or display fireworks. Those who watch firework displays find that those can be broken into smaller categories by four primary effects. These effects include noise, light, smoke, and floating material. Because of the varying types available, it is common for fireworks to be classified by how they perform, whether it be on the ground or more commonly, aerial. The overall dangers associated ... It wasn t until the nineteenth century that fireworks also became popular in America. Firework development, such as the forest green color, is still continuing today (Gondhia). Discussion A basic firework, sparkler, firecracker, and aerial all have different components in which produce different reactions. Different components may also be added to an aerial firework to produce various colors and shapes. A basic firework is made up of six basic ingredients. These ingredients include fuel, an oxidising agent, a reducing agent, regulators, a coloring agent, and binders. Charcoal or black powder is the most common fuel in fireworks. Other elements like thermite can be used in place of black powder, although fuels usually contain an organic element. The fuel initially starts to work inside the firework when it begins to lose electrons to atoms within the oxidiser, thereby reducing and releasing atoms from the oxidiser. When this occurs, bonds are formed between the fuel and oxygen atoms, causing the product to be somewhat stable. However, only a minimal amount of energy is required to start the combustion of this fuel oxidiser compound. As a result, the solid mixture liquefies and vaporizes into the flame of the ignition causing a massive release of energy. This act marks the beginning of combustion (Gondhia). The oxidising agent produces ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Chicago Symphony Orchestra Description Essay Entering the Chicago Symphony Center my face must have looked completely memorized as I gazed at the design and architecture structure that was before me. The amount of intricate detail that was on the ceilings and trim work must have taken months to complete with a construction army. As I walked through the hall and stepped into the elevator the smell of fresh clean red carpets filled the air with a slight scent of floral. Emil Sinclair, the story s protagonist, experiences various adjustments, which in time influence his values and identity. As the story develops, Sinclair acquaints himself to Max Demian, an intellectual being, who further encourages him to acknowledge the human s definite capabilities. Through his interpretation of Cain, Demian impacts the way in which Sinclair views the world. His understanding of the story contradicts the standard Christian narrative. Seeing as his principal conflict revolves around the distinction of the good and the bad, Sinclair continuously suppresses his feelings towards the controversial aspect of things. Through this, one becomes aware of the depicted duality of Cain and Abel. Furthermore, Sinclair progressively becomes intrigued with the world s divergence which is contradictory to Christianity and its values. The incorporation of Cain and Abel is quite controversial, in terms of society and its standards. All in all, Hesse impeccably interprets Cain s mark by bringing awareness to the characters possessing alternate mindsets. This essay serves to address the interpretation of Cain s mark, as Hesse demonstrates its existence through distinguishing individuals, and its effect on society. Hopelessness: Having dreams/goals but knowing there s a small chance of them being accomplished in future. The writers of the books Of Mice And Men and Death Of A Salesman have a certain use of words/phrases that demonstrate a clear use of the themes hopelessness and failure of the American Dream . To begin with, John Steinbeck has used the following quote: I could live so easy have a girl maybe . This quote presents how one of the main characters George is feeling hopeless about his dreams as he knows that taking care of Lennie would mean his dreams will be hard to achieve as it is a big responsibility to be with Lennie due to his mental difficulties. Furthermore, the writer has used the phrase: I could live so easy if I didn t have you on my tail gives us a clear suggestion that George is directly telling Lennie how easy his life would be without him. Inequality was present in religion, labor, and everyday society. During the seventeenth century, religion played a vital role in the lives of Americans. Contrariwise, the world suppliers of lamb are the United Kingdom, Spain and Australia and, moreover, 14% of world bovine meat arrives from the United States (Simoes, 2013). According to Seneca, For what prevents us from saying that the happy life is to have a mind that is free, lofty, fearless and steadfast a mind that is placed beyond the reach of fear, beyond the reach of desire, that counts virtue the only good, baseness the only evil, and all else but a worthless mass of things, which come and go without increasing or diminishing the highest good, and neither subtract any part from the happy life nor add any part to it? A man thus grounded must, whether he wills or not, necessarily be attended by constant cheerfulness and a joy that is deep and issues from deep within, since he finds delight in his own resources, and desires no joys greater than his inner joys. Seneca s statement shows the rejection of all base pleasures and desires to be the foundation for good stoic philosophy. Stoicism, a Hellenistic philosophical school started by Zeno of Citium in the early 3rd century B.C, flourished in Ancient Rome during the time of Cicero and Caesar. The Stoics stressed personal freedom, virtue, natural law, reason, and self control. Stoic philosophers such as Marcus Aurelius and Seneca claimed a life of discipline and moderation in which one would give up their pleasures and ignore pain. Due to the references and each scenes Oliver tries to create she illustrates true Eco Criticism. Oliver s illustration of Eco criticism relates to themes of love, sorrow, empowerment, and laughter, which makes one reflect a certain way. As a result of how Oliver captured her works, she makes one look at the world at a different perspective, and have a peerlessness for the world. Eco criticism is the the genuine relationship that humans have with the environment. Eco criticism is illustrated all through out in the poetry in Red Bird. • 39. Math and Graph Models Behind the Olympic Paul Vault Jump Introduction Every 4 years, the Olympic games is a major event around the world. International athletes come together to represent their own country at a sport. A gold medal is given to the winner of each game. This math internal assessment aims to consider the trends of the wining men gold medalist s pole vault height from 1932 to 2008, and predicting 1940 and 1944 record, when the Olympic games were not held due to the world war. Data Height Record 1932 2008 The table below shows the men pole vault gold medalists at various Olympic games between 1932 and 2008. Table 1: the winning heights of men s pole vault in Olympic games for years between 1932 and 2008. (Excluding 1940 and 1944) Year 1932 1936 1948 1952 1956 1960 1964 1968 1972 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The war, however, stopped the improvement of the heights record. Therefore, we could deduce that the depression between 1936 and 1948 was due to lack of training due to the war. When the games resumed in 1948, the athletes started to progress their record once again. As you can see above, we could refine our model, disregarding the 1932 and 1936 record. Graph 5: Graph of winning heights (m) against years since 1948 This refined model is better representation of data than graph 1 and 2 even if the line does not pass through every point. Passing through point increased from 2 to 3 (4, 52 and 56) and majority of points are very close to the line. It is true that some points, such as point 16 and 20 quite far from the line, but these points can be disregarded in this model, as the line is touching the following point 24. This gives the new linear equation y=0.0264x+4.4338 However, even though refined graph has better equation than those of past one, there are some limitations with using linear equation to determine the graph. Since a linear graph increases infinitely, and as humans have restraints to achieve to record, their winning height can t keep increasing at this rate. It is not sustainable. Natural Logarithm Model After considering the limitation of linear function and graph, I have discovered applying any model of equation that has an infinite increase range, such as quadratic or exponential, is unrealistic, since the ... Building organizations needs the knowledge and skill to build ever lasting teams. This is the reason why most managers can never become leaders and why most leaders never achieve the utmost summit of success. It involves the knack to ace the craft of individuals and knowing how to move hundreds of individuals at the right place and at the right time. It means to know how each individual thinks and how to best use their skills properly at all times. It s like playing a continuous match of chess realizing that each incorrect move can cost the organization thousands of dollars, if not millions (Llopis, 2012). The MAJOR PROBLEMS AT CVS s PHARMACY FULFILLMENT PROCESS According to the analysis of the pharmacy fulfillment process by PSI team, a number of major problems in the five basic steps should be concerned and emphasized by the company. The drop off stage has a major problem for nobody watching in store drop off window. This problem will cause the decrease of customer s satisfaction because customers cannot drop off their scripts and make the requested pickup time at that time and also waste customer s valuable time. If no pharmacy staffs serve customers in any service time, the company will lose the trust from customers and will not achieve its organizational goals. The data entry stage has two major problems. The first problem is drug utilization review (DUR). As showed by PSI team for the pharmacy fulfillment process, DURs arise frequently and pharmacists must waste time to intervene. CVS s central database of customer fails to update and understand customers newest condition, so that the issue of DUR triggers customer s dissatisfaction and wastes a lot of time for pharmacists. The second problem in the data entry stage is no refill allowance. Many customers may lose track of how many refills that were allowed and drop off an ineligible script ...
