Animal Cloning Debate Essay
Animal Cloning Debate
A clone is a genetic copy of another living organism animal, plant or human. Animal cloning is a
widely discussed issue in our society today. The question now is whether the Australian government
should ban animal cloning. Many opinions are generated from this subject, such as the justifiability of
cloning, and how far it should go. Religious views are prevalent, so too are numerous ethical
concerns. The issue of whether or not the government should ban cloning has gained progressive
attention, as the science of animal cloning is further perfected.
BIOLOGICAL BACKGROUND
Animal cloning is the process of creating a biological replicate of another organism with the ... Show

The donour nucleus can be obtained from embryonic cells that are differentiated into the skin, heart,
brain and various other organs.
Success rates are very low, with an average of only 1 2% of cloned embryos that lead to a successful
clone. Losses occur at all stages of the cloning process. Some cloned embryos do not develop in
general, some fail to implant and a high proportion of fetuses die late in pregnancy or soon after birth.
Cloned mice have the tendency to be obese and tend to learn more slowly. Many cloned animals have
deformities such as an abnormally large size, which endangers the lives of the surrogate mothers
carrying them. The causes of the low success rate of cloning are uncertain, but it is likely that it is due
to the inadequate reprogramming of the genes of the adult cell by the unfertilized egg.
SOCIAL RELEVANCE
There will be many different impacts on society if the government s decides to ban, or not to ban
animal cloning. A better knowledge of these impacts can be obtained by discussing the good and bad
of animal cloning. One application of the cloning technique is by cloning genetically modified
animals, so that their cells and organs can be transplanted into humans. Thousands of patients die as a
result of the unavailability of human organs for transplantations and this cloning technique could
potentially be a solution within the medical

The Future Of The European Union
What the framework of our constitution can do is organize the way in which we argue about our
future. All of its elaborate machinery its separation of powers and checks and balances and federalist
principles and Bill of Rights are designed to force us into a conversation, a deliberative democracy in
which all citizens are required to engage in a process of testing their ideas against an external reality,
persuading others of their point of view, and building shifting alliances of consent.
Barack Obama, 2006 1.0 Introduction
In the past years, the possible future of the European Union (EU) has been of increasing interest to
social and political scientists as well as the public. Since 2008, the EU has experienced events such as
the economic crisis and the 2014 European Parliament election, which have fostered intense debates
around the legitimising basis of the EU (Zielonka, 2014). Furthermore, with the election of David
Cameron in the 2015 United Kingdom general election even the possibility of the United Kingdom
leaving the EU has been discussed. Although many social and political scientists do not believe such a
scenario (REFERENCE), one could argue that there is an increasing need for the EU to redefine itself
in order not to experience a genuine downfall . Consequently, an alternative theory of EU integration
challenging the classical intergovernmental and neofunctional understandings of the EU has gained
increasing support among political scientists.

What Does The Deaf Education Curriculum Does Not Build A...
Auditory challenged individuals are comprised of nearly 10,000,000 hard of hearing and 1,000,000
functionally deaf Americans and a half a million were born or diagnosed deaf before turning eighteen
years old in the United States (Mitchell 2006). A great percentage of this demographic primary
language is American Sign Language (ASL). These individuals are considered a verbal minority.
Within the deaf community deaf is defined as people who have been deaf or hard of hearing entirely
or most of their lives. In addition to sign language, auditory challenged individuals use broken speech
usually no higher than a fourth grade level (Hauser, O Hearn, McKee, Steider, Thew 2010). The basic

Although, at times, I felt anxious because I could not hear my kids playing. I kept checking on them. I
look at my husband if I felt the floor slightly rumble because I can see the dogs barking and running
toward our front door which usually meant someone walked by the house. When my kids had a
question it was recited to my husband. H wrote it down than I verbally answered. It got confusing
because my husband stated he started talking and realized half way I did not hear anything. It was
different without using my ears because we did not go into details about our day. He nor I felt like
writing a two page report about our day. We summed up the important stuff in a few sentences. My
husband had to signal me when the microwave dinged. I do not think that there was anything I notice

I could not hear if it accidentally turned off. Normally we I use it as a hearing person I have a

Analysis Of The Book The Boy s The Striped Pajamas
In this Literary analysis report, of the book The Boy in the Striped Pajamas , I will be breaking down
the story. Starting with the beginning introducing the main protagonist and antagonist of the movie.
Then introducing the main conflict and how the protagonist tried to fix this problem, and how it was
solved. The final paragraph will break down the movie even further by explaining symbols, showing
what they mean, and how this movie depicted the real world. To start off, The movie The boy in the
striped pajamas was directed by Mark Herman. The Story starts off in Berlin during World War II. The
boy s father is a soldier and is commander of a concentration camp. So in order to do his job he has to
move his whole family closer to the camp. The rest of the story takes place in Auschwitz were the
concentration camp is located at. The protagonist of this story is a little boy named Bruno. He is an 8
year old German boy. Bruno doesn t know what really is going on in the war. He is still innocent,
during this time, all that he knows about the war is that his father is trying to make the world a better
place. The antagonist in this story is Bruno s dad. He is a very high official of the German army. He
takes his job very seriously and says that by winning the war the world would become a better place
for his son. Although the protagonist is being taught to hate Jewish people, he still becomes friends
with a Jewish kid his age. This is the main conflict of the story, and why

Simultaneously, after 1990 there was a rise in the number of Black and Asian newsreaders on both
local and national TV. (Panayi 292) According to Panayi, this is a remarkable progress as it reflects the
entry of migrants or people with migrant background into the elites of British society. (292) 3.5
Literature Since the post war period, migrants and their descendants have also to a greater extent
entered the centre of British literature. (Panayi 292) Many of them have worked with their personal

It is about Parvez, a Pakistani immigrant living in England, that has largely assimilated to the normal
British lifestyle. His son Ali originally seems to have done so as well; at some point, however, Parvez
starts noticing obvious changes in his son s behaviour: he gets rid of his personal possessions such as
CDs, videotapes, books and clothes as well as his TV and stereo system, breaks up with his girlfriend,
stops playing the guitar and progressively isolates himself from his old friends. Initially unable to
explain or understand what is happening to him, he starts looking for clues, suspecting drugs or
something similar to be the cause. By directly confronting his son, he finally finds out that Ali feels
disgusted by the Western lifestyle as well as his father s behaviour, meaning his neglecting Muslim
precepts and principles. This discovery makes Parvez s dreams of doing well in England and
successfully integrating into British society crumble and he continually grows more worried about his
son who acts increasingly fundamentalist and hateful. Parvez s concerns and anger eventually
culminate in him hitting Ali repeatedly one night after Ali insults one of his father s closest friends
who is working as a prostitute. The story ends with Ali consequently asking Parvez: Who s the fanatic

West Niles Virus Research Paper
West Niles Virus is a virus that is transmitted from mosquito to aves and mammals via infected
mosquito bites and is prevalent within most of the Continental United States. It is reported that, 40
states have recorded cases of West Nile Virus (Jolly par. 4). The complications with mosquito bites is
problematic because of the spread of disease is due to the infected mosquitos and there is a need to
implement a control systems to decreased swarms of mosquitos, in particular within Maricopa County.
This cause is important because I have recently been diagnosed as having West Niles Virus. There is
no current vaccination for humans against the West Niles Virus, the only way to reduce chances of

The Secret Of Relationship
Sacred Change
The secret of relationship, I believe, is about knowing who you are from day one. Knowing what
happened to you after day one and how it is affecting you and others throughout your life into now. I
believe, that most if not all the reasons why we have conflicts, is about unhealed childhood wounds. I
have found with my clients, and in my life, that nearly all the problems in relationships have to do
with unhealed childhood issues. When wounds are not healed they are projected onto others and until
we can own what is our behavior, we cannot get along and we cannot evolve, thus the wars,
internalized oppression, that is projected onto others. It doesn t matter what your faith is.
I am a student of Kabbalah, I still have a childhood, like everybody else, and most, if not all families
are unwittingly dysfunctional wound creators while simultaneously giving love and support. Our
spiritual work, I call it spirituality 101, is to assess our wounds, own them, express them emotionally,
understand them and grow to change them. We may never forget some of the things that have
happened to us, sexual abuse, war, death of parents, these being but a few of the difficult things to
remember, but we can still heal the damage and thereby project LIGHT instead of a wounded history!
There are many ways to heal our childhood wounds but it can take a lifetime to resolve some of them
completely. I am astounded by the many ways, the extremely creative ways, that my subconscious has

The Need to Belong Essay
It is an inherent part of human nature to want to belong
Belonging as defined by the Oxford dictionary is a multifaceted concept, yet being every individual s
inherent desire to belong. Belonging is a universal concept. Those who don t find a sense of belonging
are certain to find themselves under the destructive cycle of isolation and self alienation. Peter
Skrzynecki s Immigrant Chronicles serves to highlight the basic fundamental desire to belong and the
importance it holds on each individual. This notion is further explored with Skrzynecki s poems St
Patrick s College , Feliks Skrzynecki and Gabrielle Muccino s 21st century film Pursuit of Happyness

Feliks Skrzynecki is the persona s father and is expressed as a barrier to his belonging as he couldn t
connect to their Polish culture. There is use of possessive pronouns throughout the poem to
demonstrate the inheritance of belonging from father and _____, My father . Although this shifts
overtime from my to his , the use of the pronoun his reveals dislocation and disconnectedness between
the persona and his father. The protagonist felt a disconnection with his father, but desired to belong,
but couldn t find that connection and a strong sense of belonging. Inheritance of human nature to
belong is explicitly explored within 10 Mary Street. This poem reveals how pure connection to birth
place, locality amongst family extensively initiates belonging and the sense of adhesiveness and
connectedness. The persona describes his home and his parents sense of belonging through their
beloved garden . There s a symbol of importance of belonging through their garden. Grew rows of
Carneilla and rows of sweet corn , emphasizing ownership and a pleasant sense of imagery. Like a
bird, eating pumpkins I promised myself I d lay off . The symbolism of a bird resembles a sense of
freedom within their placing. Belonging being an inherent part of human nature is explored within
Gabrielle Muccino s 21st Century film pursuit of happyness . This film reveals great meaning and one
s desire to belong. The protagonist, Chris Garner,

A Civil Action Film
In the movie A Civil Action we see many different concepts, terminology, and an over all realistic
view into the litigation process. This movie shows us what really life lawyers have to deal with while
their case is going though the legal system. A Civil Action gives the view great insight on how the
litigants and judges play a roll in this complex legal system we have that is not just black in white.
Here we get a glimpse of what it is like to be a personal injury lawyer taking on a civil trail case in a

into play this can change the course of a case as it has severely hurt Mr. Schilichtmann s plan. This led
to no closing augments in the trial in Beatrice Foods being found not liable and the trial against W.R.

afford to continue in a trail. However, Schilichtmann and his firm did not have deep pockets and after
a long trail finally took a settlement and this was the end of their fight. Schilichtmann later went on

famous geyser in the world. Given the fame of this geyser, it receives visitors from various parts of the
world. For convenience of time, the national park service have erected some sign at the site to try help

The interval for the next eruption is based on the total duration of the current eruption. 1.2 Research
Question From previous studies there are misguided interpretations on the eruption duration and how
it affects the waiting time. From mere observations we can conclude that Old Faithful has a pattern
which follows a fixed set of time. The research questions that arises is; Does the eruption and waiting
time of the Old Faithful geyser follow a fixed set of time or is there a variation in the waiting time
with respect to the eruption time? 1.3 Research Methodology Data collection and sources; the data
used in this study comes from Azzalin and Bowman(1990). It includes a data frame with 272
observations on 2 variables that is eruption time and waiting time. The data is heavily rounded times
originally in seconds. Of the variables the waiting time has been used as the response variable while
eruption time appears as the predictor variable. These means that waiting time is seen to be
determined by the time an eruption takes. So we expect that the longer the eruption period, the longer
the waiting period. This paper wishes to study the test that, under the null hypothesis, there is no
variation in the waiting time. theassumptions under this hypothesis is that the interval time between
one eruption to the next is fixed and do not occur by chance. This paper shall use the

The Impact of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones Upon Music During the 1960 s
The Beatles were a new band with a difference and this led to their impact in the sixties. They were
different because they were producing real music and stepping away from sounding like just another
band trying to imitate American stars . Beatles music was totally unique, a mixture of rock and roll,
Rhythm and Blues and Tamla Motown . British music had always been dominated from American
produced goods but the Beatles introduced abit of their own lives into their music. They talked about
where they grew up Penny Lane and brought back some real music for British teenagers, something

tours 32 shows in 24 cities within 34 days that this increased their popularity. Mainly girls would
follow them to airports and on tours. My teacher told me that girls would often bunk school to go see
the Beatles . When on tours they developed a dynamic stage presence and stunned British audience .
On a video I watched I could see that they were welcomed by crowds of rampaging fans everywhere
they went . They had a great impact on people as hysteria heightened. By 1964 they were making
more money from merchandise then from music because people brought into the commercial side of
the band. After visits to America their 16 bedsheets and eight pillowcasesâ?¦were sold to two Chicago
businessmen for $750. It seemed people just couldn t get enough of the Beatles they wanted anything

exuded on and off stage, as much as to do with their musical style or material made them extremely
popular worldwide.

Abstract In this study a new noise source is proposed as a one of renewable energy sources in energy
harvesting. Disk Jokey (DJ) is a common device in celebrations and other events. Converting the
produced noise from DJ to electric energy by using a suitable piezoelectric transducer is the main aim
of this study. Piezoelectric sensors used to convert the sound waves to electric charges. Piezoelectric
sensor of the model 7BB 41 2 was used. The piezoelectric sensors were connected in series, parallel,
and series with parallel combination connections. The disk jockey was used as an acoustic noise
source. The sound intensity levels of the output sound were 81, 84, 87 dB. The output of the three
connection modes were measured at 0, 1,2,3,4, and 5cm distance. The results showed that the parallel
connection gave the highest power at the various distances. The maximum generated power was
4.96mwatts without using an external power supply for the signal condition device. The power
decreases by increasing the distance from the source of the noise.

The Cult Of True Womanhood Essay
The main topic of this chapter is stereotypes specifically about masculinity and femininity. A historical
perspective called The Cult of True Womanhood, which meant a woman should be devout, unstained,
obedient and well behaved. However, men could practically be the opposite of the women and yet be
depicted as inferior to men. In addition, another historical view presented is Male Gender Role
Identity in which a man could be prosperous by being tough, suppressing emotions, avoiding feminine
actions and passions. Furthermore, a psychological test that was performed was the Attitude Interest
Analysis Survey in which resulted in masculinity and femininity as complete opposites. For example,
men are tough and independent, whereas women are weak and dependent.

Barbara Hepworth s Epic Works In the article, Jeanette Winterson: Barbara Hepworth s Epic Works

statement goes to show that Barbara Hepworth wanted to contribute something that was different from

The Story Tellers Of Business. Every Successful Business
The Story Tellers of Business Every successful business has a well known story. Apple a story of

Rather than relying on traditional media to promote their brand to the public, businesses can now
constantly inject their brand in the public themselves by using social media. In order to do so, public
relations specialists now must maintain social media pages, monitor and respond to questions and
complaints on social media, and keep up with social media trends to ensure they are remaining
relevant. According to Adam Levelle, a chief strategic officer at Hearst, the onset of social media has
made public relations more about facilitating the ongoing conversation [about a company] in an
always on world (Elliot). The impact of social media on public relations can be seen by the research
done at Boston University, which indicates that 64 percent of public relations departments are now
responsible for the social media usage of their companies (Wright and Hinson 12). Those who succeed
in public relations must be a good writer and effective communicator (Princeton Review). Popular
majors for aspiring public relations specialists include English, communication, journalism and public

effectively integrated into instruction in most our nation s K 12 classrooms. The true meaning for
technology integration means to integrate different forms of technologies and technology based

In summarizing these suggestions, most of school computers and even the ones at poor urban districts
normally come with Excel. Furthermore, many of teachers if not all have personal computers at home
which they can use to learn and practice with Excel spreadsheets. Even if teachers don t have
computers at home, they could also take advantage of computer resources at the public library (Zhao
and Frank (2003). Most public libraries are walking distance from general population. These libraries
are often open all week some of them even on Sundays where the use of the Internet or spreadsheets
can be done easily (Zhao Frank, 2003). Implementation Specifics 3 It is argued in order to prepare a
school for technology integration, the school should represent by a special instance of professional
development which has a unique role of curriculum development (Staples, Pugach Himes, 2005). On
the other hand, school officials in conjunction with technology leaders who make the decision
regarding how a school will invest in technology would first need a good understanding on how
technology use to boost learning of the curriculum and technology use for productivity (Staples,
Pugach Himes, 2005, p. 285). Once the understanding is established, the curriculum developer who
anchors technology in the curriculum would need to recognize the need for teachers to have the

The Americas to 1500 Essay
THE AMERICAS TO 1500
I. Methodology in the History
This period, which deals with the world the Indians knew before the arrival of European explorers,
poses difficulties flowing mostly from the lack of the usual evidentiary foundation for doing history:
written documents (for example, letters, speeches, treaties, constitutions, laws, books, newspapers,
magazines, almanacs). This lack need not be a major obstacle to historical study, however. Indeed, one
of the most important things we can accomplish in teaching this period is devising ways to give
students a sense of the spectrum of methods that historians use to investigate and understand the past.
We can give students a sense of the breadth and depth of the historian s task and the ... Show more

One last preliminary question: What is a culture? What do we mean when we talk about a given
people s culture? James Axtell has provided a definition of culture that, in many ways, illustrates the
problems of grappling with this slippery concept:
A culture is an idealized pattern of meanings, values, and norms differentially shared by the members
of a society, which can be inferred from the non instinctive behavior of the group and from the
symbolic products of their actions, including material a artifacts, language, and social institutions.
The following reworking of Axtell s definition may make it more accessible and useful:
A culture is the body of ideas, ways of looking at the world, values, and standards for conduct and
behavior that a given people or nation hold in common. It includes the range of meanings that people
assign to their own perceptions and behavior, as well as to the natural world around them. We can
define the elements of that culture, and understand how they fit together as a culture, by examining
that people s customs, language, religion, material artifacts, and social and political institutions.
That Indian peoples lacked some of the elements of European

Spear Tips In Beringia
When humans first started to ponder how the first people got here they only had one theory. Then with
findings in Cactus hill Virginia that theory along with the scientific community got flipped on its head.
Beringia This theory is the first theory archeologists came up with. The theory states that people from
Siberia traveled a land bridge formed by the Bering Strait. They followed this land bridge because
game frequently migrated on the land bridge so humans followed them. This may have occurred about
11,500 years ago. The evidence for this theory is archeologists found spear tips around Clovis New
Mexico that matched similar spear tips that where found near the Bering Strait. Pacific Migration This
theory is similar

Hymns In America
I needed a more detailed account of the history and practices of the Swedish American Church. What
were the interactions like between the churches in America and the churches in Sweden? How did
different denominations function and interact? I choose to include this article because the author
answers these questions in the specific context of hymns. Hymns embody the experiential nature of
religion as songs of adoration and worship. The author of the article, George Ericson, begins by
detailing the evolution of hymns through various religious movements in Swedish history. He focuses
on the transatlantic transfer of hymns between America and Sweden. This source reiterates the
importance of Martin Luther and the Reformation. Olavus Petri published the first Hymnal in the
common language as a result of the Reformation (Ericson 103). Hymns shaped the experience of
religion for the common person. Different waves of religious revival inspired new hymns to be
written. The pietism movement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Baptist, Methodist, and Pentecostal hymns were translated from English to Swedish during the 19th
century. Often these songs would be sung to traditional folk tunes (despite some criticism). Some
immigrants would even return to Sweden and share lively tunes and inspiring lyrics on preaching tours
(Ericson 106). Unlike other countries, there was not an official connection between the state church in
Sweden and similar congregations in America. The adoption of new hymns demonstrates the free
churchly attitude apparent in the American Lutheran church. Free church refers to a movement in
Sweden in opposition to the state church which resulted in immigration. From my other sources, I
determined that religious motivations did not dominate Swedish immigration. However, the love for
certain hymns demonstrates a trend for Swedish believers to distance their religious practice from the
official church of

Scientific Theories Are Objectively Justified
Scientific theories are objectively justified (Couvalis, 1997) and scientists are seen as being able to
gather and interpret evidence that can be concluded as scientifically proven (Ladyman, 2002). In the
majority of areas in modern society, including justice, health and safety, scientific evidence is heavily
relied upon (Ladyman, 2002). However, there are certain principles that are required for a theory to be
scientific. For example, it must be justified by observation permeated by theories (Couvalis, 1997). In
other words, it must be theory laden. Moreover, scientific theories contain generalisations and one
method for justifying statements with full confidence on the basis of other statements is deductive
reasoning (Couvalis, 1997). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This will be considered throughout this essay with regards to the topics of addiction, genocide and
expressed emotion in family communication.
Rassool (2011) defines addiction as any behaviour, activity, substance, object or thing that has taken
control of an individual s life style, that is causing harm to the individual and family (p4). The
majority of us are exposed to a range of addictive behaviours that impact on individuals and families
across socio economic and cultural areas, and it has been argued that we now live in an addictive
society (Rassool, 2011). Addiction is useful in enhancing our scientific understanding of human
behaviour due to its classification via the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual 5th edition (DSM 5),
which is the standard classification of mental disorders. It is used for clinical, research and policy
purposes and has a large influence on the diagnosis and treatments of disorders across many countries
(Hasin et al, 2013). Another way in which addiction can be measured is using the Dependence
Syndrome. According to Edwards and Ross (1976), elements of the syndrome include; increased
tolerance to alcohol, avoidance of withdrawal symptoms, compulsion to drink, and rapid relapse after
abstinence. These measurements of addiction aid our scientific understanding of human behaviour
because they allow for a more reliable and valid diagnosis, consequently impacting treatment and
thus, enhancing psychologists

Examples Of Evil In To Kill A Mockingbird
People can experience evil without becoming evil by ignoring it, not caring what others think about
them and overcoming evil with good. There is a lot of evil in the world and people have to do the best
they can to experience evil without becoming evil.
One can experience evil without becoming evil by ignoring it. People normally do evil things to get a
reaction if they do not get a reaction they will most likely stop. It is also proven that people who
ignore other people s rude remarks are more mentally healthy than those who respond to rude remarks.
Researchers at Baruch College studied about 120 people by putting them in a room and having them
engage in a conversation with a highly offensive person. After they were done they had to perform a
second task which when completed included a performance score. People who ignored the offensive
person were known to have a higher performance level. Also in the book To Kill a Mockingbird,
Atticus was threatened by Walter Cunningham and he ignored Walter s remarks and he didn t become
evil. All Atticus said was, You can turn around and go home again, Walter, (Lee p201.) These are some
examples of how you can experience ecil without becoming evil. ... Show more content on

U.s. State Department Advisory
State Department Advisory: The US State Department advises citizens not to visit Mexico during their
elections. So, it was Day One of our trip and I felt quite nervous. Sleep eluded me the night before as
my head was spinning with thoughts of spending the next three weeks flying all the way from
Phoenix, Arizona to Santiago, Chile in a small airplane. I couldn t refrain from dwelling on how crazy
we were, especially given the State Department warning against U.S. citizens visiting Mexico. Up
until that point in time, I had never been out of the continental United States. When I was twelve years
old, I visited Puerto Rico; however, I m not sure that counts. For this to be my first true international

When I arrived at Scottsdale Municipal Airport, to begin our trip, Miguel had already arrived and
unloaded his car. He sat perched in front of a mountain of personal belongings. Without even
exchanging as much as a, Good morning, we both stood glancing back and forth between his massive
pile and the small plane. When we made eye contact, we both burst out laughing. Obviously, we had
way too much to put in the plane. In addition to sheer volume, we needed to be concerned with Weight
and Balance; in other words, total weight and how it s distributed in relation to the airplane s center of
gravity. My weight, Miguel s weight, combined with the weight of the fuel and everything we were
taking had to be factored in. Loading the plane accordingly was essential; otherwise, there existed a
danger of the plane becoming uncontrollable or not even being able to safely take off. Already falling
behind schedule and faced with the full day of flying, we needed to make some decisions quickly.
Brandishing a pack of Post it Notes, Miguel suggested we employ to mark each bag with its weight.
Armed with a fish scale and Post it Notes, we proceeded to weigh and mark each and every item we
had. Deciding what to take and what to leave behind was difficult; we had brought only what we
considered essential. For example, one of the bags held assorted medicines and extensive medical
supplies which had all been purchased based on the

Natalie, too, would like to know if the company has been profitable or not during November. Natalie
realizes that in order to determine Cookie Creations income, she must first make adjustments. Natalie
puts together the following additional information. 1. A count reveals that $35 of baking supplies were
used during November. 2. Natalie estimates that all of her baking equipment will have a useful life of
5 years or 60 months and no salvage value. (Assume Natalie decides to record a full month s worth of
depreciation, regardless of when the equipment was obtained by the business.) 3. Natalie s
grandmother has decided to charge interest of 6% on the note payable extended on November 16. The
loan plus interest is to be repaid in 24 months. (Assume that half a month of interest accrued during
November.) 4. On November 30, a friend of Natalie s asks her to teach a class at the neighborhood
school. Natalie agrees and teaches a group of 35 first grade students how to make Santa Claus cookies.
The next day, Natalie prepares an invoice for $300 and leaves it with the school principal. The

December. 5. Natalie receives a utilities bill for $45. The bill is for utilities consumed by Natalie s

From studies of the oxazalone colitis model, one of the few models to exhibit a TH2 profile, ulcerative
colitis has an atypical TH2 response, mediated by natural killer T cells that secrete IL 13. These
natural killer T cells are activated by APCs that express the nonclassical major histocompatibility

Are Health Savings Accounts Working Effectively? Health savings accounts were originally created to
encourage people to have control over how their money was spent on their healthcare. If the funding
was coming from their private source than people would be less likely to use unneeded treatments or
investigate costs prior to utilizing, to get the most from their money. Similar to the idea of when
people use cash for their spending in place of plastic, credit or debit cards. People tend to be more
frugal with their spending with cash. The concept that they were hoping for to be true would respond

to get from my employer for my family of five for $240.00 a paycheck which was twenty six bi
weekly costing me $6,240 out of immediate salary with an eighty to twenty deductible. The first year
my premium went down to $121.78 a biweekly paycheck. The high deductible was $2000. My
employer paid $1000.00 and once deductible was met all costs under insurance were covered. Since
then the premium went to $137.74 with a $3000.00 deductible. Currently my premium is $160.96 a bi
weekly paycheck with a $4000.00 deductible and now an eighty/twenty deductible at office visits,
prescription plans. There are allotted certain automatic fees for hospitalizations and high costs testing.
A few preventative care costs are included for example, once a year well visits. If I pay into my HAS
account I have started with fees as listed earlier then an ongoing fees of $5.00 a month to maintain it.
In order to just cover the $4000.00 deductible I have to take out of my pay $153.85 bi weekly just to
meet. In order to use advantage of tax free income the benefits of putting more into HAS do not
outweigh other needs and costs. I have put in more than needed to meet deductible to help with

Key Performance Indicators ( Kpis )
As you know, in our current business environment, most companies have finite resources and budget
but they share a common objective which is to do more with less and stay nimble . Extracting key
insight from business data is crucial for management to formulate strategy to drive improvement in
our organization to counter competition as the industry evolves. In addition, having the information at
the right time to departments and individuals will motivate the employees to act on this information in
relation to corporate or departmental goals. Due to the recent trend in visualization and advanced
technology in dashboard, corporations are increasingly captivated with dashboards due to their vast
ability to allow the users visualize data in an interactive and engaging manner. The ability to use key
analytics and technology to manage performance through the use of key performance indicators
(KPIs) provides great benefits to companies and corporations. Companies may use KPIs to set targets,
identify trends, determine potential issues and opportunities, and plan future activities to help increase
performance. With that in mind, I recommend to start an initiative to develop a set of relevant KPIs to
better measure our contract performance. As contract performance is a clear indicator of the success of
our business, we need a mean to measure the effectiveness of this component in order for us to take
action at the right time if we fall short on our target. I want to propose

How Personal Values And Beliefs Influenced The Black...
How Personal Values and Beliefs Influenced the Black American Slave Narrative: Incidents in the Life
of a Slave Girl and Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass Compared.
Throughout the abolition movement, both men and women slaves were trying to escape from slavery,
and find their way to freedom in the North. Many of wrote their stories down. Some with the aid of
ghost writers, and often under pseudonyms to protect their safety. These slave narratives spoke of the
sufferings of the slave experience in America (Campbell 1). Because black men and black woman
experienced slavery differently, they wrote about them differently. Those differences can be seen in a
comparison of Frederick Douglass s, Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave
(1845), and of Harriet A. Jacobs, Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl, Written by Herself (1861).
Jacobs and Douglass have similar backgrounds. Both write of their experiences while enslaved, yet as
their narratives are compared a distinction can be made between the core values and purposes between
the two. Douglass s audience is towards anyone who will listen, and underscores the brutal violence,
and dehumanization of the American slave. Jacob s views are more emotional and directed towards
the upper class white woman whose sympathies she believes will align with her own as a mother and a
woman.
Douglas writes, You have seen how a man was made a slave; you shall see how a slave was made a
man (Douglass).

  • 2. Animal Cloning Debate Essay Animal Cloning Debate A clone is a genetic copy of another living organism animal, plant or human. Animal cloning is a widely discussed issue in our society today. The question now is whether the Australian government should ban animal cloning. Many opinions are generated from this subject, such as the justifiability of cloning, and how far it should go. Religious views are prevalent, so too are numerous ethical concerns. The issue of whether or not the government should ban cloning has gained progressive attention, as the science of animal cloning is further perfected. BIOLOGICAL BACKGROUND Animal cloning is the process of creating a biological replicate of another organism with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The donour nucleus can be obtained from embryonic cells that are differentiated into the skin, heart, brain and various other organs. Success rates are very low, with an average of only 1 2% of cloned embryos that lead to a successful clone. Losses occur at all stages of the cloning process. Some cloned embryos do not develop in general, some fail to implant and a high proportion of fetuses die late in pregnancy or soon after birth. Cloned mice have the tendency to be obese and tend to learn more slowly. Many cloned animals have deformities such as an abnormally large size, which endangers the lives of the surrogate mothers carrying them. The causes of the low success rate of cloning are uncertain, but it is likely that it is due to the inadequate reprogramming of the genes of the adult cell by the unfertilized egg. SOCIAL RELEVANCE There will be many different impacts on society if the government s decides to ban, or not to ban animal cloning. A better knowledge of these impacts can be obtained by discussing the good and bad of animal cloning. One application of the cloning technique is by cloning genetically modified animals, so that their cells and organs can be transplanted into humans. Thousands of patients die as a result of the unavailability of human organs for transplantations and this cloning technique could potentially be a solution within the medical ... • 3. The Future Of The European Union What the framework of our constitution can do is organize the way in which we argue about our future. All of its elaborate machinery its separation of powers and checks and balances and federalist principles and Bill of Rights are designed to force us into a conversation, a deliberative democracy in which all citizens are required to engage in a process of testing their ideas against an external reality, persuading others of their point of view, and building shifting alliances of consent. Barack Obama, 2006 1.0 Introduction In the past years, the possible future of the European Union (EU) has been of increasing interest to social and political scientists as well as the public. Since 2008, the EU has experienced events such as the economic crisis and the 2014 European Parliament election, which have fostered intense debates around the legitimising basis of the EU (Zielonka, 2014). Furthermore, with the election of David Cameron in the 2015 United Kingdom general election even the possibility of the United Kingdom leaving the EU has been discussed. Although many social and political scientists do not believe such a scenario (REFERENCE), one could argue that there is an increasing need for the EU to redefine itself in order not to experience a genuine downfall . Consequently, an alternative theory of EU integration challenging the classical intergovernmental and neofunctional understandings of the EU has gained increasing support among political scientists. ... Auditory challenged individuals are comprised of nearly 10,000,000 hard of hearing and 1,000,000 functionally deaf Americans and a half a million were born or diagnosed deaf before turning eighteen years old in the United States (Mitchell 2006). His son Ali originally seems to have done so as well; at some point, however, Parvez starts noticing obvious changes in his son s behaviour: he gets rid of his personal possessions such as CDs, videotapes, books and clothes as well as his TV and stereo system, breaks up with his girlfriend, stops playing the guitar and progressively isolates himself from his old friends. Initially unable to explain or understand what is happening to him, he starts looking for clues, suspecting drugs or something similar to be the cause. By directly confronting his son, he finally finds out that Ali feels disgusted by the Western lifestyle as well as his father s behaviour, meaning his neglecting Muslim precepts and principles. This discovery makes Parvez s dreams of doing well in England and successfully integrating into British society crumble and he continually grows more worried about his son who acts increasingly fundamentalist and hateful. Parvez s concerns and anger eventually culminate in him hitting Ali repeatedly one night after Ali insults one of his father s closest friends who is working as a prostitute. Knowing what happened to you after day one and how it is affecting you and others throughout your life into now. I believe, that most if not all the reasons why we have conflicts, is about unhealed childhood wounds. I have found with my clients, and in my life, that nearly all the problems in relationships have to do with unhealed childhood issues. When wounds are not healed they are projected onto others and until we can own what is our behavior, we cannot get along and we cannot evolve, thus the wars, internalized oppression, that is projected onto others. It doesn t matter what your faith is. I am a student of Kabbalah, I still have a childhood, like everybody else, and most, if not all families are unwittingly dysfunctional wound creators while simultaneously giving love and support. Our spiritual work, I call it spirituality 101, is to assess our wounds, own them, express them emotionally, understand them and grow to change them. We may never forget some of the things that have happened to us, sexual abuse, war, death of parents, these being but a few of the difficult things to remember, but we can still heal the damage and thereby project LIGHT instead of a wounded history! There are many ways to heal our childhood wounds but it can take a lifetime to resolve some of them completely. Belonging is a universal concept. Those who don t find a sense of belonging are certain to find themselves under the destructive cycle of isolation and self alienation. Peter Skrzynecki s Immigrant Chronicles serves to highlight the basic fundamental desire to belong and the importance it holds on each individual. Feliks Skrzynecki is the persona s father and is expressed as a barrier to his belonging as he couldn t connect to their Polish culture. There is use of possessive pronouns throughout the poem to demonstrate the inheritance of belonging from father and _____, My father . Although this shifts overtime from my to his , the use of the pronoun his reveals dislocation and disconnectedness between the persona and his father. The protagonist felt a disconnection with his father, but desired to belong, but couldn t find that connection and a strong sense of belonging. Inheritance of human nature to belong is explicitly explored within 10 Mary Street. This poem reveals how pure connection to birth place, locality amongst family extensively initiates belonging and the sense of adhesiveness and connectedness. The persona describes his home and his parents sense of belonging through their beloved garden . There s a symbol of importance of belonging through their garden. Grew rows of Carneilla and rows of sweet corn , emphasizing ownership and a pleasant sense of imagery. Like a bird, eating pumpkins I promised myself I d lay off . The symbolism of a bird resembles a sense of freedom within their placing. This led to no closing augments in the trial in Beatrice Foods being found not liable and the trial against W.R. Grace continues. The reason W.R. From mere observations we can conclude that Old Faithful has a pattern which follows a fixed set of time. The research questions that arises is; Does the eruption and waiting time of the Old Faithful geyser follow a fixed set of time or is there a variation in the waiting time with respect to the eruption time? 1.3 Research Methodology Data collection and sources; the data used in this study comes from Azzalin and Bowman(1990). It includes a data frame with 272 observations on 2 variables that is eruption time and waiting time. The data is heavily rounded times originally in seconds. Of the variables the waiting time has been used as the response variable while eruption time appears as the predictor variable. These means that waiting time is seen to be determined by the time an eruption takes. So we expect that the longer the eruption period, the longer the waiting period. This paper wishes to study the test that, under the null hypothesis, there is no variation in the waiting time. theassumptions under this hypothesis is that the interval time between one eruption to the next is fixed and do not occur by chance. The Impact of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones Upon Music During the 1960 s The Beatles were a new band with a difference and this led to their impact in the sixties. They were different because they were producing real music and stepping away from sounding like just another band trying to imitate American stars . Beatles music was totally unique, a mixture of rock and roll, Rhythm and Blues and Tamla Motown . El Garhy5 4,5Dept of Electronics, communication Engineering Faculty of Engineering Helwan University Cairo; Egypt Abstract In this study a new noise source is proposed as a one of renewable energy sources in energy harvesting. Disk Jokey (DJ) is a common device in celebrations and other events. Converting the produced noise from DJ to electric energy by using a suitable piezoelectric transducer is the main aim of this study. Piezoelectric sensors used to convert the sound waves to electric charges. Piezoelectric sensor of the model 7BB 41 2 was used. The piezoelectric sensors were connected in series, parallel, and series with parallel combination connections. The disk jockey was used as an acoustic noise source. The sound intensity levels of the output sound were 81, 84, 87 dB. The output of the three connection modes were measured at 0, 1,2,3,4, and 5cm distance. A historical perspective called The Cult of True Womanhood, which meant a woman should be devout, unstained, obedient and well behaved. However, men could practically be the opposite of the women and yet be depicted as inferior to men. In addition, another historical view presented is Male Gender Role Identity in which a man could be prosperous by being tough, suppressing emotions, avoiding feminine actions and passions. Furthermore, a psychological test that was performed was the Attitude Interest Analysis Survey in which resulted in masculinity and femininity as complete opposites. For example, men are tough and independent, whereas women are weak and dependent. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My mother is a housewife that serves and attends my brother and father. James Axtell has provided a definition of culture that, in many ways, illustrates the problems of grappling with this slippery concept: A culture is an idealized pattern of meanings, values, and norms differentially shared by the members of a society, which can be inferred from the non instinctive behavior of the group and from the symbolic products of their actions, including material a artifacts, language, and social institutions. The following reworking of Axtell s definition may make it more accessible and useful: A culture is the body of ideas, ways of looking at the world, values, and standards for conduct and behavior that a given people or nation hold in common. It includes the range of meanings that people assign to their own perceptions and behavior, as well as to the natural world around them. In the majority of areas in modern society, including justice, health and safety, scientific evidence is heavily relied upon (Ladyman, 2002). However, there are certain principles that are required for a theory to be scientific. For example, it must be justified by observation permeated by theories (Couvalis, 1997). The majority of us are exposed to a range of addictive behaviours that impact on individuals and families across socio economic and cultural areas, and it has been argued that we now live in an addictive society (Rassool, 2011). How Personal Values and Beliefs Influenced the Black American Slave Narrative: Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl and Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass Compared. Throughout the abolition movement, both men and women slaves were trying to escape from slavery, and find their way to freedom in the North. Many of wrote their stories down. Some with the aid of ghost writers, and often under pseudonyms to protect their safety. These slave narratives spoke of the sufferings of the slave experience in America (Campbell 1). Because black men and black woman experienced slavery differently, they wrote about them differently. Those differences can be seen in a comparison of Frederick Douglass s, Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave (1845), and of Harriet A. Jacobs, Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl, Written by Herself (1861). Jacobs and Douglass have similar backgrounds. Both write of their experiences while enslaved, yet as their narratives are compared a distinction can be made between the core values and purposes between the two. Douglass s audience is towards anyone who will listen, and underscores the brutal violence, and dehumanization of the American slave. Jacob s views are more emotional and directed towards the upper class white woman whose sympathies she believes will align with her own as a mother and a woman.
