Somashekhar T S, a Research Scholar from the July 2022 batch,
enrolled in the PhD program in Library and Information Science
under the supervision of Dr. Vitthal Bagalkoti. Currently, I am
working as an Associate Librarian, Archivist, and Coordinator for
the Exams office in IIIT Bangalore.
Throughout my academic pursuit, I have consistently dedicated
myself to advancing my studies and research skills. Here is an
overview of my progress for the period from January 2024 to June
2024:

Workshop on Digital Tools
5Day PDP
Attended the 3days International workshop on Redefining libraries
with digital tools on May 1st to 3rd may 2024, organized by Librarian
Guide.
Attended a five-day Professional Development Programme on
“Bibliometric Analysis and Reference Management” organized
by NITTR Chennai from January 8th to 12th, 2024.
Participated in National Workshop on “Artificial Intelligence Tools for
Librarian” jointly organized by Library Department, Bhogawati
Mahavidyalaya and The New College Kolhapur with collaboration
with Shivaji University College Librarian Association (SUCLA) on
2Oth March 2024.

Completed a five-day National Level Librarian Development
Programme on “Emerging Trends, Technologies, and Methods for
Effective Librarianship” organized by the Goa Institute of
Management, Goa, from May 20th to 24th, 2024, to enrich my
professional and research knowledge.
3Months Online Advanced Certificate in
Digital Library Applications
Completed the Advanced Certificate in Digital Library
Applications course from 17th January, 2023 to 30th April 2024,
with 69%, the course was conducted by Healthnet, Nepal in
association with Nepal.

Presented the research paper titled “Navigating the Digital Landscape: A Study on the Effectiveness of E-
Resources” at the 3rd International Conference on Knowledge Management in Higher Education
organized by Manipal University Jaipur, held on January 30th and 31st, 2024.

Co-authored the research paper titled “Exploring Digital Information Literacy Skills among
Library Users” presented at the same conference.

1. Synopsis submitted during the 3rd Semester went through
the review and received Suggestions.
2. As per the guidance started searching the previous work on
my research area initially started with Google Scholar,
Opens Access Journals, Research Gate
3. Requested to schedule RAC for the approval of Research
Topic

Web of Science, Shodhaganga, Shodhagangotri and LISTA.
6. Extracted 123+ research work in the selected area from Scopus and
LISTA database
7. Started learning the Reference Management tool Zotero
8. Framed the questionnaire and circulated for drafting the research
article for submitting in peer reviewed journals
9. Data Collection for writing the article is completed currently
working on analysis of collected data
