Our Seven Step Exit Planning Process™ will help the owners of businesses ranging from $3 million to $50 million in value, to begin thinking about the Exit Planning process when two streams of thought begin to converge. The first stream is a feeling that you want to do something besides go to work everyday: either you would like to be someplace else—doing something else—or you simply no longer get the same kick out of doing what you are doing.

the original content of the 1973 TPS manual1 was written by
the staff2 of Toyota Motor Corp. (OMCD - Operations Management Consulting Division.
By 1970, Toyota had a fairly stable production system internally and they made a decision to
assist suppliers by sharing their knowledge and skills. To do this, Toyota created a special
internal improvement group called Production Research Division (later renamed Operations
Management Consulting Division – OMCD)
his 1973 manual was also used as course materials by Ohno and his team – the Japanese
Management Association compiled their workshop materials and released it as a book in the
1978. Productivity Press translated it and released it as Kanban: Just-in-time at Toyota in

TPS Manual, it is not presented in the same order.

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.

2. Personality profiling is common
as part of
their recruitment process
By understanding who you are
hiring, you can minimize
personality clashes and keep staff
for longer
This is about assigning people
based on their behaviour
Want to make the most out of your staff? Call Pathway on 0121 707 0550
4. Self-understanding
First and foremost – do a
personality profile
You will gain clarity of your
own behaviour, and say
“Oh yeah, that’s me!”
Want to make the most out of your staff? Call Pathway on 0121 707 0550
6. For a better team
The simple act of personality
profiling your team might
cause them to be more self-
aware of their behavior and
others around them
Want to make the most out of your staff? Call Pathway on 0121 707 0550
They may start adapting in subtle ways to:
Approach issues better and avoid conflict
Get a job done faster
Use the personality drivers to deliver results
7. Think recruitment
Figure out which personalities are
missing, or which there are too
many of
Teams tend to work better with a
diverse mix of personalities –
depending on the job!
Street sellers will have a
set of personalities than
a group of graphic designers
Want to make the most out of your staff? Call Pathway on 0121 707 0550
8. Look at the diversity of your team
If your team feels like its lacking something or has
an apparent weakness, it may be personalities
Perhaps it lacks direction, or a willingness to finish
projects?
Look to bring in a personality that will
complement the team – maybe even one not
naturally suited to the job role
Want to make the most out of your staff? Call Pathway on 0121 707 0550
9. Help with conflict resolution
Personality profiling means you
understand the processes people
are comfortable with
Some want to be approached
with facts, others with emotion
Some take criticism harder than
others, some relish the chance to
build on it
Want to make the most out of your staff? Call Pathway on 0121 707 0550
10. What exactly is personality
profiling? How do we do it?
This all sounds great, but…
11. Understand the profiles
No one person will neatly fit into a
single profile
They often spread across two
To illustrate this, we will use the popular
DISC method of profiling
There are questionnaires that can be
taken – or you can simple ask the right
questions in an interview! (more on this
later)
Want to make the most out of your staff? Call Pathway on 0121 707 0550
12. Dfor dominance, or decisiveness
Big character traits
Direct, strong-willed,
confident and fast-
paced
Motivated by success
and competition
Values competence,
tangible results,
challenges, creativity
and freedom
Character considerations
Impatient
Lack of concern for
others
Fear of being seen as
vulnerable
Struggles with
sensitivity, detail and
deliberation
Want to make the most out of your staff? Call Pathway on 0121 707 0550
13. I for influencer
Big character traits
Convincing and warm,
affirming
Sociable – loves group
activities, popularity and
optimism. Energizing.
Prioritizes group action,
including coaching and
counselling
Appreciates hierarchies
and symbols of prestige
Character considerations
Will put a low priority on
knowing the details
Starts tasks, but struggle to
finish – their focus will drift
Is afraid to call a spade a
spade – not candid
Dislikes being ignored
(more than other people)
Want to make the most out of your staff? Call Pathway on 0121 707 0550
14. Sfor stabilizer, steadiness and service
Big character traits
Enjoys group work, but not like
Influencers – prefers
cooperation to achieve goals
Prioritizes support, security and
collaboration – inclusive
Predictable, calm people –
not quick to anger or
convince
Loyal, guided by a desire to
help and be appreciated
Polite and humble
Character considerations
Indecisive, works at own pace
Overly accommodating,
avoids confrontation and self-
promotion
Struggles with change – or a
loss of stability
Multi-tasking is difficult
Want to make the most out of your staff? Call Pathway on 0121 707 0550
15. C for conscientious and creative
Big character traits
Values quality and accuracy –
a perfectionist and
practitioner
Is socially cautious and tactful
Challenges assumptions and
tradition – objective and detail
orientated
Enjoys demonstrating expertise
and unique accomplishments
Character considerations
Struggles with delegation and
compromise
Finds social events take effort
Makes decisions slowly
Fears criticism
Generally prefers isolation and
independence
Struggles to sell themselves
Want to make the most out of your staff? Call Pathway on 0121 707 0550
16. How can we assess people for
personality traits?
17. Do the official questionnaire
DISC is popular – and people
gladly pay to use it
Consider paying a small fee to
access the carefully crafted
questionnaire
This will give you an
of you and your
colleagues
Want to make the most out of your staff? Call Pathway on 0121 707 0550
18. Size them up at interview
DISC is about personalities,
and these traits can be
teased out with carefully
worded questions
Look for big indicators, like
caution, sociability,
expertise or natural
leadership
Want to make the most out of your staff? Call Pathway on 0121 707 0550
19. Remember your current team
You may find that similar profiles
gel better as a team, but lack
diversity enough to produce
effective results
For example, a group of I’s might
end up talking and sharing the
best ideas all day – but never
getting anything past concept
Want to make the most out of your staff? Call Pathway on 0121 707 0550
20. Bulk your team with the most
complementary types
You’ll find that C types would make terrible street
sellers, but fantastic software developers
D personalities make natural team leaders, but
sometimes need to be tempered with some I’s if the
team requires convincing
Understanding the combinations will explain current
difficulties and offer
Want to make the most out of your staff? Call Pathway on 0121 707 0550
21. So if my team is all profiled, how
should I treat them differently?
22. Before we proceed…
If the way you have been treating
them has caused no issues,
!
If you do want to change your
approach, there will be an
element of acting.
Be prepared with your game face!
Want to make the most out of your staff? Call Pathway on 0121 707 0550
23. Dfor dominance, or decisiveness
Give them the fundamental and
most important factor
Be brief, avoid repeating yourself
and making generalizations
Focus your discussion narrowly on
solutions
Want to make the most out of your staff? Call Pathway on 0121 707 0550
24. I for influencer
Want to make the most out of your staff? Call Pathway on 0121 707 0550
This is all about discussion
Share your own thoughts with
them and allow them the
right to reply – don’t interrupt!
Be prepared with answers,
but avoid too much detail
Be positive!
25. Sfor stabilizer, steadiness and service
Want to make the most out of your staff? Call Pathway on 0121 707 0550
Recognise their desire for calm and
stability
Do not approach with any aggression
Be personal, and detail what you
expect from them
Bring in the detail – don’t let them
wonder or interpret as this will cause
time wasted
26. C for conscientious and creative
Want to make the most out of your staff? Call Pathway on 0121 707 0550
Avoid trying to encourage them
with language – they are interested
in the facts and details alone.
Exercise patient and diplomacy
Bring any criticism with care and
consider their intentions – just
wanting quality and accurate work
27. Managing personality traits is not
new
The best companies in the world, including
FTSE 500, have been doing this for years both
in recruitment and with their existing workforce
It’s about making day-to-day life easier for
people by synchronizing your message with
their priorities and motivations
