Personal statements
These need to be completed on UNI FROG regardless if you are going to university or not.
The following students have unfinished personal statements –

Writing your personal statement
1. Use the Personal statement work book to help guide you through each section.
2. The statement needs to be personal to YOU!
3. Think about yourself ‘Holistically’ e.g. skills/qualities/experience you may have
4. It maybe an idea to bullet point ideas for each of the sections and then write sentences
about them and add any examples where you can.
5. A personal statement is all about ‘selling’ yourself as the best for the
job/apprenticeship

WHY? Why do you want to work/study this subject?
Section 2
WHAT! What have you done in the past that makes you suitable to study this subject?
Section 3
WHAT ELSE? What else have you done that would contribute to your apprenticeship?

Possible points to talk about –
 Hobbies,
 Helping at school,
 Any type of employment e.g. Saturday job/helping family out
 Activities you have been involved in at school
 Outside activities
 Charities you have helped out with fund raising
 Presentations in lessons
 Skills you have e.g. speaking a second language
 Qualities you have e.g. patience
 Baby sitting
 Looking after ill family
 Being a carer
 Communication skills – elaborate on this, give examples of how you do this well
 Good at meeting deadlines
