1. Have a clear objective
2. List the benefits you would gain by achieving your goal
3. Start with what you will do NOW
4. Define clearly the steps you will take
5. Identify the end point for each step
6. Arrange the steps in a logical, chronological order and put
a date by which you will start each step
7. Try to map out several paths to your goal and think about
the type of problems you might encounter at each step
8. Review your progress
9. Mix with positive people and tell your friends or relatives
about your goals
