What’s an action plan? An action plan is a written summary of what you are going to accomplish in your business in a specified period of time What Why How When
Why do we need an action plan? Develop and maintain a clear vision of what you are going to do and what outcomes you expect  A well-composed action plan will help you to  organize your work effectively and  stay focused
An action plan helps us to establish priorities  Then we can organize, plan, act, evaluate and correct those situations  that affect our efficiency and competitiveness   The analysis of the action plan lets us have accurate information in order to make future decisions
An action plan also …. Helps with time management  Minimizes procrastination
Another benefit of having an action plan… Avoid Burnout   Remember…external factors in themselves are not as important as your attitude, how you interpret these factors, and what actions you take in response
EXERCISE 1- “A crazy day without … objectives” Write a short story of a “crazy” day in the life of an imaginary director of one of the Centers  (5 min.) Share the story with the rest of the groups What happened?  Why? What can be done to avoid this kind of situation?

1. Objectives Determine your objectives (what I want, what I expect, what I work for) Clarify your objectives by making them measurable, clear, and concise  Determine and establish priorities
2. Actions In order to achieve the objectives, what do I need to do and  when am I going to do it?  Compose a list of actions  Analyze them and group them by categories  Assign them a priority Reflect them in a clear “to do” list Establish deadlines
3. Resources Specify the resources you will need Determine who is responsible for each task Determine what constraints/problems you may encounter
4. Methodology Establish a schedule for revision Compare advance against pre-established objectives Analyze deviations and plan/take corrective actions Revise your action plan anytime there is a significant change in the local market if there is an important change in the business if you obtain new, relevant information

EXERCISE 3: Individually, select one objective for your Alianza Write it down (Is it concise, clear, measurable?). Now also write down:  Why is this a priority? What actions will you take to accomplish it? Remember to include deadlines What resources will you need? How will you follow it up/evaluate your success? Share your work with your group
