toward desired learning objective.
Editor's Notes
Teachers Receive 1-page handout with “Warm Up” Reflection & Rubric at top with space beside for evaluator’s notes. Below is a space for teachers to design a brief lesson component or activity involving peer evaluation and a rubric to guide evaluation.
Aligning with our school’s value of teamwork, we’ll be examining effective methods of Student peer (and self) evaluation as well as the role of rubrics in pushing students toward mastery of learning goals.
Whole-Group Share-Out: describe reflection responses and impressions from the exercise on how the peer-evaluation process may be beneficial. This dialogue guides an overview of the potential benefits of consistent incorporation into lessons.
Have teachers analyze why peer evaluation may lead to better internalization of the characteristics of quality work or mastery. Reference: http://www.nclrc.org/essentials/assessing/peereval.htm
